What I love about the wombats is when the guy is like "Why did you pick this song?" and theyre just like "Why not." and the guy is like "well you have to have a reason" and theyre like "nope" they don't make it complicated when It doesn't have to be
They don't pretend to have some deep meaning when there is none. They also have fun all the time and don't take themselves too seriously. Love these guys.
This was my favorite song as a child, and now my favorite band covered it...I'm going to cry, thank u for doing this! It's so freakin' beautiful. For some reason when they sang it, i actually paid attention more to the song and the lyrics. That's the power of this beautiful band.
The Wombats all went to the Liverpool School of Performing Arts for Music. They know their music and instruments. And the lyrics to this song really are quite nice if we all stop trying so hard to be cynical. From the point of the these guys, they went to school in order to write pop music as a career, so this song coming from them in the face of these douchey radio hosts who don't take them seriously brings a tear to my eye. Pop music can be a force of good if it's done with heart like these three did right here.
that "ah ah ah ah" bit was SO wombats of them :)
Lol "Hey coconut man, moon head, and pea, are you ready?" kills me hahaha

they don't make it complicated when It doesn't have to be
Sarah Frey he said i could think of a number of reasons
Brooke Pierce It was the radio guy who said that after "why not?"
They don't pretend to have some deep meaning when there is none. They also have fun all the time and don't take themselves too seriously. Love these guys.
It was always a real song with depth it was just picked up straight away "cha Ching cha Ching bla bling bla bling" it mocked itself
they eventually muttered "just wanna make the world dance"
so jealous of the radio hosts, they get to be a part of something very special every time a band performs or does a cover omg
This is so much better than the original version dammmnn
are you kidding me..... Darude Storm is better
Like San Cisco's cover of 'Get Lucky', more musical and much, much more enjoyable to listen to. Not so damn artificial.
still not on spotify
greatest cover ever? probably
