Great install. Tanner Peden doesn't have a clue. I read subpar, I am pretty sure he meant superb. Anyway, well done. I just got my perpetual well and upgraded to pvc. I will use your video as a guide when installing mine. Thanks for taking the time to make the video.

    Didn’t see it actually working!

I would've used flexible 1-1/2 vinyl tubing for the drain. for easier service. If dishwashers use them, you can use them too. this thing wont last more than a couple years, then what? gotta cut out the PVC from the basement? that's insane

I wish I could do this myself. I'm 62-year-old female and I think this is better left to the guys to do I don't think I could do it it's too bad also.

Your best bet would be a handyman. The installation can be hard.

Not sure I’m too interested in removing my sill plate just for a water bowl. There’s several ways you could’ve gone around that.

First of all, who are you, the plumbing police? The best part is you're not even a plumber. Second, the install was absolutely perfect. If you knew anything about that unit then you would know that it is completely sealed there is no way for water from the bowl to end up in the wall. After that it is no different than any other in wall plumbing. And third of all. What was your reasoning for leaving a comment? You had absolutely nothing positive or constructive to say. All you did was complain about the product and the job that he did install it. The fact that he went "overkill" on the pvc is a matter of debate and overkill is 99.9% of the time better than Underkill. I just bought this product for my dog and am doing the install myself. I am not a licensed plumber but consider myself very handy and fully capable of doing this job. I watched his video to get a general idea on how other people installed it. There is absolutely nothing negative that I could find in his install. Infact I upgraded from the included parts to pvc prior to watching this video just because pvc is far better than the plastic stuff that's included. You're wrong about everything that you said. I feel like you're a troll and if I was making a bet I would say that you're not only not a licensed plumber but I bet you don't own this watering bowl.

Also, open moisture inside a stagnant environment like a wall is a recipe for mold. And there’s no way you needed 2” pvc for a drain that is fed by a quarter inch water line. The thought process for this whole thing is weird. Good idea, subpar execution.

The water reservoir is sealed with a cap so there is not open moisture in the wall.

@@perpetualwell8940 tbh I looked at an install of one and the lid didn't appear to have a gasket seal, but I was in a bit of a hurry and didn't get a good look. I'd rather have the fill unit on the outside. The internal wall design has allot of problems, most notably compression fittings are not going into my walls, I used propex for a reason... Then most notably for northern houses these cant mount to exterior walls. Building code prohibits water lines in exterior walls. Id rather have everything visible and able to run a water line to it.
If its to be mounted to a wall like it is. I'd go with a stainless main unit. A front access valve with a sweat fitting for choice of pex. The filter would be mounted to a plate that goes over float valve cavity with 0 possibility of the water able to ingress into the wall.

You don't seen very intelligent. There is about two liters of water in that bowl. Where do you think it's gonna go if you have a smaller drain?. It may be fed by a small line but it's not just the small line that may need to be flushed. Dude get a clue use your drain.
