Which TX is the BEST buy?
    www.lexus.com/content/dam/lex...
Lexus has finally brought a huge family mover to the market in the name of TX. Here's my first hands on impressions of the much-needed behemoth.
A NEW ERA OF THREE-ROW LUXURY: THE FIRST-EVER LEXUS TX
    • Spacious third-row legroom and generous cargo space of 20.1 cubic-feet behind the third row
    • Two electrified powertrain options: a Plug-in Hybrid combined with a powerful V6 engine, and a
high-performance 2.4L turbocharged hybrid available exclusively as F SPORT Performance
    • Enhanced Lexus Driving Signature fundamentals provide a smooth and exhilarating drive
    • First Lexus vehicle to be assembled at Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Indiana
    • Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 and Lexus Interface Multimedia System with standard 14-inch
    touchscreen
    • New Lexus Unified Spindle design prioritizes aerodynamic handling and vehicle stability
Passengers have grown accustomed to battling for the best seats. Lexus
ends that now with a new three-row vehicle, making every seat the best seat. Today, Lexus has ushered in
a new era of luxury with the global reveal of the first-ever TX, a vehicle made specifically for the North
    American market.
With increasing demand for a three-row SUV that offers substantial space and seating, Lexus rose to the
challenge to round out its vehicle offerings and create a sense of luxury that will satisfy and delight the
    diversifying needs of its guests.
“It’s only human to want the best seat in the house. And it’s only Lexus to make every seat the best seat,”
said Dejuan Ross, group vice president and general manager, Lexus Division. “This is a pivotal moment for
our brand, creating an elegant and indulgent vehicle experience for every single passenger. TX prioritizes
comfort in every row and embodies our steadfast commitment to electrification, technology, performance
    and design.”
The 2024 Lexus TX provides a serene interior space with a comfortable, quiet in-cabin atmosphere,
confident driving, and a spacious luggage compartment - even at full occupancy. Through safety and
technology features and powerful performance from a diverse mix of powertrains, TX provides
excitement for the driver and an enjoyable ride for up to seven people.
Following the release of the NX, LX and RX, TX continues the next chapter of Lexus SUVs with evolved
Lexus Driving Signature fundamentals. TX has been specifically tuned to provide a smooth, yet
exhilarating drive, in every row, without compromising the luxury features Lexus guests enjoy.
TX will be exclusively assembled by Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Indiana (TMMI), and is the first Lexus
    vehicle to be assembled there.

Exactly - would it be so difficult for them to offer a 2nd-row bench seat as an option? (Or a 3-person 3rd row if that's what you need.) I can't buy this TX *or* the GH in their top trims with a 2nd-row bench seat. They're alienating everyone with a family of 5 😞(3 kids in the 2nd-row bench leaves all that cargo space with the 3rd row folded down for all our stuff when we take road trips.)

Kirk, I completely agree with you about the powertrains. I'm very interested in the Grand Highlander Hybrid, and would be interested in a TX inline-4/V6 non-plugin hybrid. I do think the TX 350 premium or TX500h F Sport Performance premium trims are currently the most attractive, especially with the limited supply and high price point of the TX 550h+.

Want to love the Lexus TX but just disappointed in some of the decisions that were made.
6 seats max on a hybrid. I thought they would at least opt for 7 seats
That removable cupholder in between the captain's chair could have been a removable seat like Pilot, MDX
There are some options like massaging seats that are missing from the TX but the GX has
Digital Rearview mirror is something I expected on lower trims but seems to be only part of the tech package on luxury trims

    • @jsfbay1
      @jsfbay1 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

So true. Off the bench seat as an optional "downgrade" and make all of us happy! Or do like the MDX/Pilot and have a 3-seat 2nd row with the middle seat that can be removed. So why don't I buy the MDX/Pilot? I want a luxury vehicle that's the size of the Pilot with a 3-seat 2nd row. Simple enough and there's enough of us commenting on this (sure, we're in the minority) that I'm surprised Lexus (and Toyota GH) aren't willing to accommodate us.

  • @lol-ly4su
    @lol-ly4su 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

I feel like they wasted the potential of this car. 6 seats being the max on 2 of the 3 trims is a big let down. To get more power and efficiency, seating has to be compromised on this car.
7 seats is good and 8 seats is even better. The grand highlander can have 8 so if the TX is really supposed to be the more luxurious version, it should have 8 too.
Also, the grand highlander's interior looks kinda cheap, this could've been an alternative.
There aren't many SUV's that can reasonably fit 8 people from toyota/lexus, and honda/acura while not compromising on cargo capacity.

    • @naveenthemachine

      @jsfbay1 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@@naveenthemachine Except when you don't like minivans... I totally get what you're saying but there's no luxury minivans (that I'm aware of.) Would it have killed Lexus (and Toyota) to offer a 2nd row bench seat as an option in the top trims? This leaves me to buy the '23 Pilot or the '23/'24 MDX, but, the MDX is too small and the Pilot is of course not a luxury vehicle, which I want. And I don't want a German money pit (I keep my cars for a long time and I don't want to become best friends with our local German car mechanic.) Frankly I'm not surprised about Lexus/Toyota's choice here since this is how it's always been, I just thought that *maybe*, just *maybe*, they'd look at what Honda/Acura does in the Pilot/MDX, or simpler yet, just offer the option of the bench seat. I'm fine with the 3rd row only having 2 spots for butts, since the 3-seat 3rd row in the GH is a bit of a joke (as is any unibody 3rd row seat with spots for 3 people.)

For my current lifestyle and location, the TX Hybrid+ is the best option. 33 Miles for a island State is more than enough to almost make the TXH+ a full time EV. As for the options, good to have but no necessary. I have a 2006 GX and I used the power outlet in the back 2-3 times during the life of the car. Will never use the cold area package. Convince Package is mainly a subscription base package. Technology package is most likely the only worthwhile package. Lastly, I am not so keen that it will be built in the U.S. The U.S. line worker work ethic compared to the Japanese line worker is very different. To this day and I don’t know why, but Lexus Canada does it very differently. Majority of these options, if not almost all, come standard in Canadian models, even the parking sensors on the absolute base model. Hence the reason I am not complaining. I’m not sure how American dealers do it, but I mean over here in Canada, and I’m using the Highlander as an example, but majority of them are 7-passenger. Hence another reason I am not really complaining about the 6-passenger configuration as I’m sure it will sell well too.

Is there a trim level that has the 2nd row bench seat and also 4-way lumbar driver's seat (and hopefully the passenger seat too)? I assume it would have to be a 350 Premium because the Luxury trim seems to already have required captain's chairs. But I'm afraid that 4-way lumbar may require the Luxury trim. Please, I ask again, help me! I see in the configurator that a bench seat is supposedly available even in the 350 Luxury trim. But does that get me 4-way lumbar? I sure hope so.
What would be extra cool would be the 3.4TT V6 in this! I doubt any longitudinal transmission could take the torque of this, but I can dream :-)

Maybe it's most people by the numbers, but there are quite a few people who have posted in this video that want a 2nd-row bench seat. With a family of 5 (or a family of 4 and a friend), we want to put everyone in the first 2 rows, leaving all that cargo space that is available with the 3rd row folded down. All I'm asking is that Lexus and Toyota offer the bench 2nd row as an *option*. I'm sure it won't sell as well as the versions with captain's chairs, but there is clearly a market for what I'm asking for, just based on this one video.

It would be skinny, but I'd pay a grand or two so that I could have the 500 Fsport. I don't know, but this product would likely have to be tested by some gov't agency for crash worthiness? Lexus not offering 7 seats (a 2nd row bench seat option) on the v6 550h version of their LARGEST vehicle is a huge mistake. There are lots of families who need 7 seats and also want the luxury and the v6 hybrid!
I was going to buy this until learning about the 550h only coming with 6 seats. Who are the incompetent people at Lexus making these short-sighted decisions? I repeat; this is the absolute largest vehicle that Lexus makes and it's being marketed directly to families. So a seating for 7 option on all models should be a no-brainer. Someone needs to shake someone pretty hard at Lexus corporate and beat some common sense into that person. Needless to say we will wait until they add more interior colors to the TX. Just shaking my head over here in disbelief...and no ventilated middle seats option even on the luxury trim??? Let me stop right here...

Even after waiting for trim levels and options, the tx is still such a letdown 😁
I knew this was gonna happen.

😂Leave it to Naveen to Judge a car that hasn't even come out yet. It's going to sell way better than your expectations. Your just into "visually appealing only" vehicles and sadly for you lexus ain't that.

Lexus tx is a excellent luxury suv and better than gv80 or whatever . Yes the tx is not cool looking as the gx but that is obvious since their are bulid for different segments
