Not that law firms with this specialty are not needed, and bringing awareness to abuse and crimes against vulnerable people is necessary, but this video did at times seem like an infomercial fir Hackard Law Firm. Rest in Forever Peace, Rona.
Ah, thanks. That explains why when I searched for additional information, nothing came up. The only difference is reports online list the female deputy as Stephanie, not Jessica.
That poor poor woman...my god...those cops should have done time and had to repay the family for the rest of their lives...bad things like this happened to my father when his alhzheimers started...we could not convince him it wasn't true...he's gone now...and it was money they kept getting out of him...itvwas bad...they almost lost everything...
Hold on there. There is a reason the deputies weren't charged. Fired requires a much lower bar pertaining to questionable unethical conduct, but the former deputies insist every action taken was to protect Achiu, including reporting her case to multiple County departments who refused to assume guardianship. What doesn't seem right with this episode is that it is one long ad for a law firm with only agents of that firm speaking and attesting to facts. There aren't any Sacramento Sheriff representatives, nor the deputies or their lawyers, or even Achiu's family. The full story has a lot more explanatory power than these attorneys can provide. I am not saying the deputies are innocent of any wrongdoing, but unless money is missing - which has not be alleged - then there is not any criminal culpability.
Thank you, hackard, law for all that. You did to take up Verona, and for her rights. May this stand as an example to anyone else who is trying to do this to the elderly Amen. No one is above the law when taking advantage of the elderly and it's great that law firms like this will make sure it does not happen again amen
I'm so very glad to live in a state. Also where many of us work in elder care where they will try these cases and place people that are egregious and abusive of the elderly to the maximum amen
@@heksedansd.2919 Correct, but there is nothing to say you cannot use her real name in the comments. The law firm isn't going to sue you for using her real name.

They weren’t criminally charged? Makes me think they prob have or will do it again Bless this poor woman ❤ She just wanted to be in her house she shared with her husband 😢
It is baffling how so many people, including you, can't figure out that this video only presents one side, a single perspective, and that's enough to draw the conclusion they want to you to know. Can't you tell this is just a long ad for a law firm and what is missing is representatives from the Sheriff, the victim's family, and of course, the deputies accused of wrongdoing? Have you bothered to research _their_ accounts? This is not the full story, and they were never charged with a crime.
You guys, I don't know. This video, despite being on a channel I like, is one long advertisement for a law firm, and is definitely a one-sided account - the Plaintiff's account. Notice there aren't any actual Sacramento County Sheriff personnel interviewed for this episode. It's all just lawyers for the firm. Former deputies Stephanie Angel and Jose Martin have never been charged, just fired. I do not like the one-way ticket to the Philippines or the reported gutting of the house, however, I think there is a lot more to this story from the other side. There is a KCRA3 article dated March 16, 2018 containing allegations made by Angel of sexual harassment and improper training she was threatening to report, when her department retaliated. She also claims Rosalie Achiu, the victim in this case, requested to go back to the Philippines when Sacramento County Adult Protective Services were requested but failed to intervene. Ultimately, my question for Angel and Martin is...where'd all Achiu's money go? This episode made it sound as if this was theft by elder abuse, but there was nothing provided to define if any actual money was missing or just sitting in the bank accounts for which Angel had Power of Attorney, which sounds suspicious, but explained because of her proposed absence for an unknown duration abroad. I would prefer to have the full picture, and as far as I know, there wasn't criminal conduct, at least not as this advertisement describes.
Best They can do ,UUGGHHHHH .these cops were theives ,criminals and the department bshould have been charged and the cops that robbed this poor sweet woman and caused her death should be in prison for along time .Karma ,as usual ,has to give out the punishment that the law did not .Im so sorry Rona RIP and to Her goid honest sweet friend ,Your a Gem and God bless U .These two horrible people committed a crime ,elder abuse and robbery and We all know it but Im sure they said Rona gave it all to them and thry were just trying to help Her UUUGGGHHH I cerrtainly hope Karma gets them good for all the evil thry did to poor Rona ,Shes dancing in heaven now with her husband .
This is just one side of the story used to convince simple minded people like you who are too lazy to do some research and look up the rest of the information. You don't even know her name, let alone the full story. And there's no evidence of Heaven, but of course, you don't care about evidence, now, do you?

Family’s are sometimes the most disgusting people when their parents pass away 🤬🤬 believe me I’ve seen it many times and experienced in my own family
Real talk Real shit
UTI is so dangerous to the elderly 😢 these cops are despicable 🤬🤬
Great episode! Wonderful photography/video work - great home and backyard for reenactment!
This episode was fantastic!
The elderly woman was Rosalie Achiu, this took place in Sacramento and the two were Sacramento sheriff deputies Jessica Angel and Joseph Martin.
