This is a great review of a great knife, I enjoyed the part about the book too, one can tell that you are very passionate about it. I'm definitely going to check out the book you recommended.
My favourite knife. I sold most of my other fixed blades (Benchmade Bushcrafter, Mora Bushcraft, and many others). So far, IMHO, nothing beats the blade shape, handle ergos, overall aesthetics, and price of the BK-16. I did the same with my folders too (ie sold most of them) after I ‘discovered’ the Cold Steel Pro-Lite. ;) Interesting looking book too. I will check it out.
I really wanted to like this knife, so much that I bought a sagewood leather sheath for it, and also new g10 handles. But the shape of the handle just does not fit me. Too thin where my thumb is compared to the rest. Sucks, because the steel and all is good.
@@pyrosis08 The Benchmade Leuku or Stromeng Leuku? I still prefer the BK16 over those 2. The Benchmade uses a more premium steel, though, and the Stromeng Leuku cuts wood better. A good alternative to the BK16 for similar or less is the Condor Cavelore/Bushlore. Almost identical size. Hope that helps. Thanks for commenting.

Is the writing on your one gold ? they look white just wondering because mine is gold wondering if it’s a copy
