  • This video is about Philips Avent Bottles. This video will go over the Proper Assembly for the bottle!
    We have a newborn that currently loves and swears by these bottles. We have heard a lot of people complain about these bottles specifically but I am not sure they are using them properly so here is a quick video to help ensure the bottle is assembled correctly ❤️
    Please feel free to leave any questions or comments ❤️

      As soon as it hits air its not sterilized, so really its just really clean. You need to have an autoclave and air tight packaging for a true sterile bottle. I wouldn't worry about touching it with washed hands, and babies need antibodies too.

    • @whittlzwhittrz
      @whittlzwhittrz  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Check and make sure the formula isn't clogging the nipple hole when baby goes to drink. When I mix my son's bottles, the formula does bulk up at the nipple so I have to shake the bottle a little harder until the formula clears! ☺️

      @@breannamcfarland1080 we used those in hospital for my son when he was born. He loved them. We re used the nipples as much as we could. If I remember correctly, the ready to feeds need to be shaken well before given to baby to make sure the formula didn't solitify. Then twist the nipple to the open top of the ready to feed. It shouldn't allow very much to pass through but you can test its working by squeezing the nipple while holding the bottle down.

      @@harshapasupuleti7331 when it's formula, you have to ensure the formula is "thin" enough to pass through the nipple. I know some people use rice cereal as a thickener but it does tend to clog these nipples. Double check to ensure you aren't over tightening the white part and that the notches are matched to the white and the nipple. It should allow proper air flow 😊

      Line up the nipple notch with the notch on the lid. When you twist the lid on, don't twist it very tight. When feeding baby, the notches face up near the nose of baby to prevent leaks.

    • @whittlzwhittrz

      It sounds like maybe your baby isn't latching properly. I would seek a consult with a lactation specialist or a doctor to check for tongue tie. Bottles and nipples should be selected to be the closest to the shape of the mothers breasts so it might need to be a different brand, bottle and / or nipple. Sending such big hugs.

    • @whittlzwhittrz
      @whittlzwhittrz  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's great! It means that the bottle and nipple are not leaking! When you give the bottle to your little one when they are a newborn, they need to work on their sucking. They have to sort of work for it just like breastfeeding! When the bottle nipple sizes go up (from 0 to 1, 1 to 2 and so on) it increases the flow. Around size 3 or so that's when you should see some fluids leaking if you were to turn the bottle upside down! ❤️

    • @whittlzwhittrz
      @whittlzwhittrz  ปีที่แล้ว

      The only time I've had the nipple blocked was when it wasn't getting suction. Align the notch in the ring with the notch in the nipple. When screwing onto the bottle, go slow and don't over tighten. When you feed baby, make sure the notches face upward. All of that should allow for better flow and no blocks.

      They shouldn't leak at all. Check the nipples. Make sure they match the type of bottle you have. Make sure they are not being over tightened. Lastly, make sure all the vent in the nipple and the lid are matched and facing up when you feed baby. No leaking should take place. Best of luck.

      An easy way to fix that is to remove the nipple and re align the vent notches on the nipple and cap. Try not to overtighten when putting the cap back on with nipple as it will shift the location of the vent notches and be too tight to be used.
