Great video and concepts were very well explained. This is definitely something that I need to emphasize. I’m too 50/ 50 and not leaning the shaft at address. The thin, straight, weak miss is always in play and I hate it.
Wow that was a a real eye-opening video for me I play off a six and have been struggling with everything you mentioned in this video. Can’t wait to go out try it
Ali, when you setup more forward towards the target how much would you say your weight is distributed (for example 60/40, 70/30 etc.)? Thanks for your time!
Where are you located Ali? 18 handicapper really struggling to find a routine and consistent swing, I have been out tonight with what I though was a fix for a big fade / slice and everything went left. I might be able to correct it with aiming a bit more right (possibly subconsciously still aiming too left to counteract my right shot issues) but lessons are needed (never had any). My Iron impact is so hit and miss, often hitting well behind the ball or topping as this video illudes to. These tips seems like they'll help so will give go tomorrow but if you're not a million miles away I would likely come and see you as I seem to be in a merry-go-round of potential fixes.
I don’t think golf is a one size fits all kinda game. If you watch enough videos you’ll see some play with the ball slightly forward, some in the middle, some a touch back (I’m speaking only about irons). I play with the ball right in the middle with all my irons and shoot em pretty straight with a slight draw. I’ve tried playing them a little further forward “like you are supposed to “ but it’s been nothing but trouble for me. Long story short the swing is a circle, what’s comfortable for you is what’s best. Look at John Daley a pro golfer who bends his elbow in his backswing, not the “right way” to do it but it works for him.
Head down thru the shot yields a club that follows the shot down the line of target insures a better result of weight transfer, ball compression and accuracy. Not so much of a "head down" ..more like look down your nose at the ball and watch the club make contact. will result a straighter back. easier body position.and not to get your weight outside your feet/base and you'll be able to see the path of the shot. (divots will tell you everything you need to know about the shot). This is a more upright position and gets your hips in the game with more power. also produces more of a swing from the body..not the arms. (chicken wing) "Ledbetter is an ASS HOLE" ..Keep it simple !! and you'll have a shot that last a lifetime with low maintenance.

Super helpful, thank you!

Excellent video, and excellent advice. This is the type of lesson 99% of golfers need - not those lessons that apply to pga tour players.
Really nice swing thought
Forward press won’t help your striking if your swing is bad, just saying. You need to have a good, proper swing first and foremost
Love it, well done.
When I introduce foreword shaft lean I end up hooking everything as it seems to shut the face.Is there any way to counteract this?
Start with the club more open
Superb 👌
Thanks
I hit the ball first but I take to deep of divot after.....any tip you can give me so I dont take such a deep divot?
Great leason!👍
Is your miss a thin shot? because you're standing up before impact. I only notice it because it's a problem I currently have with my swing.
Forward shaft lean causes shanks for me
And terrible wicked hooks.

If youre aiming left and hooking it, the problem is either with your grip or youre too flippy wristed. Keep that club face open to your target.
I always hit down on my irons. I was told to. Glad im doing it wrong
Why not keep the stance and set the ball one ball back?
Better to fix the swing fault, than move the ball and keep swinging badly. Treat the cause, not the symptoms.
