    FYI the pet PRE filter has (peel off the yellow tabs) sticks to the front, not back of mesh filter. It should be first in line to catch all the pet hair, read your manual folks!

    • @randomdude3066
      @randomdude3066 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wouldn't it be more economical to have the washable pre filter first?

    • @jmabs5096
      @jmabs5096 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@randomdude3066 yea I suppose it would, although I can get 3+ months (vaccum the pet pre filter out once every couple weeks) and it comes with 8 I think. Only downside I see is large particles would clog the fine mesh first, and reduce the airflow to the pet pre filter that is more suited for the first line of defense. I assume winix put enough r and d money to figure that out, and found out putting it first is best. Almost all aftermarket or even oem filter kits come with enough where it's a non issue. I was amazed on how much dust and dander the pre-filter catches but still allowing most airflow to the remaining filters

    How often do you need to do all of this ?

    • @tristansdadreviews
      @tristansdadreviews  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      So the carbon filter is recommended to be cleaned every 3 months and replace the hepa filter once a year. The pre filter recommended to just take that out and clean every two weeks or so. But I would say just clean that once a month every time you change or clean your central AC filter.

    If you have to wait 24h for the pre-filter to dry, what do you use for purification during that time?

    • @tristansdadreviews
      @tristansdadreviews  ปีที่แล้ว

      It probably could dry a lot quicker if in direct sunlight. I put mine under my covered patio, so to be sure I just left it overnight. I have another Winix (different model) that I just moved to our family room that we are mostly in for that night.

    Either you skipped important part or just blocked the view in the crucial moment - cleaning the sensor. Sensor lens is INSIDE and needs to be reached through that hole. That is described in the manual.
    Turning off and disconnecting from power won't hurt, but it's not needed. There is a safety mechanism that turns off the device once you open the cover.

    • @tristansdadreviews
      @tristansdadreviews  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, you are right. I apologize. I sped up video and either cut or my big head blocked that part, but yes you have to reach it inside. Thank you for mentioning.

    This model has a light in the front. I assume when the blue light is on, the unit is working 100% and the filters are good to go. When an amber or dark yellow light comes on, it's time to get ready to address the filters. When a red light comes on it's filter changing time. Am I right in my assumptions?

    • @tristansdadreviews
      @tristansdadreviews  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Winix has it as Blue - Good, Orange - Fair, and Red - Poor. This represents the current air quality around the unit. So for instance if it is Blue and you grab a can of Lysol and spray in the area you will see it turns colors and if on auto will usually ramp up to try and clear the air. Once cleared, it should return to blue.

    How do you reset the filter?

    • @tristansdadreviews
      @tristansdadreviews  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      On the top of the unit there is a little singular hole. While the unit is on, use a small, thin object (such as a paperclip) to hold the Filter Reset Button for at least 5 seconds until you hear the beep.

    Hi, I replaced all the filters and reset but purifier only works 20 seconds and then it starts flashing low and medium lights and stops working. Their tech support has no answer and it’s past 2 year warranty. You have a fix for this? Thanks

    • @tristansdadreviews
      @tristansdadreviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello. Did you do the reset as below?
      Here are the steps you should follow during a reset:
      Turn the purifier off and disconnect it from the power outlet
      Wait for a few minutes
      Connect the device back to the power source and turn it on
      Use a thin object like a pin or paper clip to press the reset switch on the purifier for about 5 seconds. The reset is now complete.

    • @anthonygross1963
      @anthonygross1963 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tristansdadreviews Several times, the reset light goes off but it then only runs for about 20 seconds and stops working, flashes low and medium lights and can't get rid of the error. On Amazon reviews, others have had similar problem, Winix has no fix. Told me I should bring it to a small appliance repair shop. Not very practical because any repair would probably be the same as new unit or more.
