    Hey all, just popping on here to address some Tera comments and DMs... This is not a way to address karens, or counter commenting attacks, show my insecurities, or XYZ... honestly my reason for making her is embarrassingly simple: I'm playing with my camera & having a blast scripting characters! I've never done it before and it's really frickin' fun for me lol. There is literally no deeper meaning behind it 😂, the only purpose is to make you smile or laugh because I'm genuinely having a great time with the process behind-the-scenes, and can't wait to travel with that skill and talk about something other than building a van haha. We love playing and experimenting with our creativity, and while I can see Tera isnt for everyone, brace yourselves, because there will be plenty other characters to come in the future 🤣
    PS. I view Tera as more a "negative Nancy" than a Karen 😉

      Been following since the very beginning of this van build! Y'all are an inspiration to the van life community, and I have been looking for a van since coming across your build. This will no doubt be looked at as a gold standard of van builds. I also love the character creations and scripting of the dialogue. 10/10 acting as well 🙂

    Hey Margaret. Love your videos. I am a tv and film director and even though I've never commented before, I wanted to tell you that the cute "talking to yourself section" would be better if the look directions were complimentary. Meaning, one of you needs to look to the left of the lens, while the other looks to the right of the lens. This is standard in all films and tv and just feels off if both characters are looking in the same direction. Again, not that you care, just trying to help you be a bit more cinematic.

    I love these tables! I think for anyone capable of engineering their own table (both in skill and having the proper tools) should make their own. And for those who cannot make their own, that’s where Lagun comes to the rescue.
    I think you guys are doing a great job at showing people what’s possible. I’ve even seen people make really great table solutions with less. It’s all about what you’re capable of and we know there’s nothing Ladi can’t build.

    Another option for lightening that table top is to glue corrugaged cardboard between a thin top and bottom layer of plywood, and just have thick edges, like some IKEA shelves. The result is pretty strong but impressively light.

    I love watching your creativity and problem solving. When working while traveling you might need to put a piece of ant-skid material/nubbly shelf liner down so the laptop doesn't slide when accelerating or stopping. I believe this is a great idea while traveling, but it could be a hazard if the airbag deploys.

    • @vanDeudekom
      @vanDeudekom ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, it wil be a BIG hazerd if, by working and driving, the passenger airbag deploys. Than you will be hit by a rocket. Please find yourself more info on that by youtube cresh testing video;s, you will be shockt! Don't put ANY thing in the feeld of a exploding airbag!!

    The reason the aluminium was bending that easily is because it needs to be hardened after welding. This happens over time automatically (months) or in an oven within a day. The other way around, if you ever need to bend aluminium you can torch it to heat it up and it will soften just like when you are welding it. Anything structural made from aluminium will be a lot stronger when heat treated after welding

    I was thinking to myself that it makes perfect sense for you guys to not just get a Lagun system since you have the ingenuity and the skillset to do something more specialized. You mentioned that you were showing it as a diy option but also mentioned that a lot of people can't even mount the already simplified Lagun system correctly. 🤣🤣
    I see why so many people buy it though.
    Great progress. Seems like the finishing touches are coming up. 🎉🎉

    Hi. I suggest you make a lid on that contraption containing the laptop. The lid has a hidden magnet, glued in a routered recess underneath. You can only open it with a magnet or iron from the top. Keep the opening magnet or iron somewhere else and nobody will find your laptop.

    • @questioner1596
      @questioner1596 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Especially if an airbag deploys. Will the airbag throw your laptop towards your face?

    • @ladiandmargaret

      With the G-Force of an accident while driving i can imagine a nasty enpailment. Great idea if not driving 👍

    • @questioner1596
      @questioner1596 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@observerobserver6040, one advantage to the table, at least in a frontal collision, is that the laptop will be somewhat contained instead of being loose on the passenger's lap if there was no table.

    • @perregrine
      @perregrine ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I agree. Car accidents can get incredibly nasty and that table has nowhere to go if/when your chest hits it. Part of why cars are safer now is because they crumple to absorb impact but people still break ribs on the wheel and dashboard.
      It also adds another barrier should you need cut out or to escape through the passenger window from water or fire which is already more difficult because they put security film on the inside.
      I feel like the compromise here is to change the type of setup. A Bluetooth keyboard and a tablet linked to the laptop in the little cubby would allow them to keep working without sacrificing the safety we hope we never need.
