Yeah... that's not how it always works.
Courts have maintained that some areas in public buildings can be off limits to the public.
You can't just walk into jails, through offices, meeting rooms, court rooms, etc. that are part of public buildings and say, "trespassing on public buildings is an oxymoron."
This guy was in an area normally open to the public during normal office hours. Hence, he couldn't be trespassed from that.
But even then, if they close the building because of security reasons (fires, bomb threats, the president is in the building, whatever), or just because it's no longer within office hours, you can still be trespassed.

@mase7557 both! Any government official or, in this case, a sheriff who took an oath to the Constitution and then doesn't follow the Constitution or Bill of Rights and doesn't follow the law of the constitution and betrays his sovereign state meaning the people has committed treason. Technically, we live under common law, which are the laws of England. America is a corporation to England and the British government. The District of Columbia, which includes Washington DC, has its own flags and laws. We were never taught real history or civics. In a Republic, treason means anyone who committed crimes against our Constitution, meaning anyone who serves in our government or military who violates the Constitution has committed treason. A traitor. Even this meaning could include sedition, hi treason, Espionage is considered treason punishable by death. Selling out your country, trying to overthrow a government. An Insurrection. Like the Democrats and Republicans did on j6 and interfering with the American Peoples election. Being paid by other countries for one's self-interest. For four years of a president that committed no crimes but people in government and agencies and military and news agencies making up lies against a president that the American people voted for. We The People who our very own government tried to overthrow the American people rights. People who are traitors have committed treason.

Exactly what happens when police enforce laws they do not understand. All they understand is their authority overrides all opposition.

And why is the chief not in jail for what appears to be three unlawful arrest, unlawful detainment, simple battery for putting his hands on him to begin with, and Deprivation of Rights on the color of law as well as any weapons related charges if you are in possession of his duty weapon while committing crimes?!

All because he was exercising his 1st amendment to freely use offensive speech. Now that this chief is a civilian, he can be brought to Justice in civil court.

He literally begged the cop to think before he acted *and the cop refused.* This cop took everything way too personally.

Violation of Constitutional rights. I hope the entire department gets held accountable to the tune of MILLIONS from the department staff & retirements.

This is Boss level ownership of the chief. He challenged him and said go ahead and force me because he knew he wouldn’t and he was right. This kid knew from the beginning he was going to be OK. And he knew the chief was in the wrong. All citizens need to pay attention to this.

Was the qualification to be Chief an IQ between 55 & 60?
