I did everything you did, I got the same exact error messages ect, but I ended up at the same place with no solution. I could care less about the $100 hard drive , I just really can't lose these files. Is there anyway I can get them off the hard drive.

I found the solution to my problem, due to the system not letting me initialize my disk but it did recognized it... I had to download Easeus partition manager and unfortunately wipe the disk... but fortunately, I had just installed a game so no important files where missed. after that, all was normal again and no more errors showed when assigning the unit.

The fix for my problem was to download easus partition master (it has a free version), install then run it, then right click on the disk you're having trouble with and delete or "wipe" , unfortunately you have to delete all data on it... but it with get rid of the CRC issue.... Just so you know I had a bad installation process on my disk that gave my that CRC error...

I found the solution to my problem, due to the system not letting me initialize my disk but it did recognized it... What is the solution of Diskpart has encountered error in CMD Prompt?
Diskpart utility is the another way to sort out this issue, if u cant fix it using GUI. It the issues still persist, go for replacement.

In case of CRC error, one can only adopt the methodology of hit and try to resolve the issues
