    Bamboo roots and seeds need to be added to every reforestation campaign in India like Gravis and PAANI foundation.
    It grows super fast, provides shade, holds groundwater and is building material for the millions that need it in India

    Good podcast.
    Most of the opportunities shown were practically not possible. Otherwise everyone would have been behind bamboo.
    He should also provide details on risks with this cultivation. Many Bheema cultivations got failed even with good management practices.
    This should get discussed in your part2 video.

    Sir,
    If you start babmboo as social forestry, it grows great. Has fantastic utility. But, You need to:
    1. Mechanise harvesting/ bamboo cutting
    2. Very robust plan for controlling snake infestation.

    • @barathinambi7749
      @barathinambi7749 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes
      I agree with you.
      The harvesting for large scale Cultivation is by machine, similar to sugarcane harvesting.
      Snake is not a problem in Non Thorny Bamboo.
      Snake is found in Thorny Bamboo like Bambusa Bamboos and not in Balcooa, Tulda, Nutans etc

    • @barathinambi7749
      @barathinambi7749 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Mechanical harvest has been developed for Beema bamboo based energy plantation.
      Snakes are found in Thorny Bamboo species. BEEMA BAMBOO is thornless and NO SNAKES

    Its an interesting topic and adventure on large scale of bamboo plantation,but rats,mice will multiply in millions ,as bamboo lands are favourite place of these creatures to live ,can it become a problem for agriculture products human health ,etc...think there should be a planned methodology and an applied parmanent blueprint to control the rats mice , snakes etc, before this bamboo cultivation is carried out .its just a point to reason,but bamboo bussiness is an employment avenue,its natural environmental office,...sure the techniquecal assessment to control polution is great ,its the fact,and will get lots of oxygen for human health..... thankyou for the Bamboo topic...👍⭐

    • @barathinambi7749
      @barathinambi7749 25 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Okay
      It has been considered and Govt of India has passed orders for replacing coal in the thermal power plant by 5 % which amounts to 620 lak tons of biomass pellets every year.
      This means we should have had bamboo in over 15 lakh acres under cultivation, if the yield of dry bamboo is 40 tons per acre.
      Very huge UNTAPPED potential in the Coal segment.

    • @barathinambi7749
      @barathinambi7749 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I agree with the flowering of Beema bamboo in early or even later stages.
      This is due to stress to plants due to shortage of water, high heat, nutrients deficiency, pest attack - mealy bugs, nematode.
      I have done research on the flowering for the last 4 years and found that it could be reversed to normal, once the plant is taken care.
      You can visit our Biotech centre to witness this.

      A well grown Beema Bamboo produces 10 new culm/ stems every year which weighs 250 kgs.
      This has sequester 450 kgs of CO2 in a year and released 320 kgs of oxygen, sufficient for one person's breathing requirement of 280 kgs avg per year.

    I have planted 3.5 Acres of Beema Bamboo. The planting density suggested by Dr Bharati was 10 Ft X 4ft. I planted 3 years back. Please be careful. There is issue with flowering. The plants die after flowering. The spacing suggested is very high. By this there is competition among the plants. Marketing is a problem. Please plant a very small area and observe. Be prepared for no marketing support. I planted 3,500 plants. About 1000 plants died because of flowering. The remaining will mature in another 3 years. That's the reality. You might get Rs 4,500 per ton. Please approach Bamboo Society of India or any Government Forestry College for advise. Private plant suppliers don't give the correct picture for obvious reasons.

      How come the Beema Bamboo produced seeds? It is supposed to be sterile no seeds. Are you sure it was the correct Beema bamboo seedlings you got ?

    • @barathinambi7749

      Yes,
      If you don't irrigate and stop feeding them with NPK fertilizer and also if you don't harvest the matured bamboo, the carbon sequestration starts declining and ultimately it will Stop .
