Would you say the whole process from start to finish in a real world residential scenario 1375 sq ft house single story indoor system in an attic would take just as long as this video did? From probe setup to profiling, the whole gamut. Great visual by the way! Thanks for always leading in innovation.
Thanks Jim, I was looking forward to have some kind of thorough training for diagnostic tests with the help of software and smart probes. Just bought a 6 nos testo smart probes and the app was not that helpful and I came across your software and this training video. Great explanation.
I benched my own system and according to actual, sensible, and latent; i have 93%, 118%, and 43% respectively of normalized calculations. I know i keep the house colder than design, 70ish dry bulb at 45ish RH, but should the 118% be of much concern besides liquid flooding to the compressor.
No, you are good as long as you have a correct refrigerant charge. I am guessing with those numbers your airflow is on the higher end and you are in a low RH climate.
@@measureQuick 5 ton blower on a 4ton ac, dropped the speed to low and the sensible is right at 103%. Never really messed with it much because it works but that changed the EER .5 higher. Edit: To be specific the indoor blower amps dropped from 120v/5.95a to 120v/4.83a and the outdoor went from 3400w@93oddb to 3135w@95oddb. EER from 9.9 to 10.5 and only an increase of .9 IDDB delta with about 3000btu increased capacity. Ive been doing this almost 15 years and ive never been able to quantify or justify small changes like this even to myself let alone argue it to the customer. Amazing technology, and i cant see myself going forward without it. 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Jim I follow your directions to a T. Yet your product will not import Testo’s information from testo 550 data file ...after pushing share then ‘copy to mQ ‘. to measure quick. Measure quick opens but reflects no information just its home screen with no reading from imported testo file.. .?. What can I do to fix this
Great video Jim you're the best. I just purchased the fieldpiece smart probes and so far I have no complaints. The software is perfect for what we (HVAC) contractors or techs do. I have an iPad mini and I was looking for the case w/the stand and keyboard that you're using in your videos. Can you list the model number of case you have.
I feel that one of the hardest things for a field tech to troubleshoot is a malfunctioning TXV. Does the MQ software diagnose a malfunctioning TXV? Can you do a video on what that would look like including the trending graph?
Great info ty! Regarding air probe placement: Since most load calculations account for a certain percentage of duct gain and leakage, wouldn't it be more accurate to place the probes as close to the coil as possible (without being in line of sight) so they read the actual temp and humidity the coil is seeing?
Would you recommend to try a different supply register if the split is out of range before adjusting things? I’ve seen differences between the registers that don’t always make sense for example a close one is warmer than further away even though you would think it would be opposite
@@measureQuick I was thinking more on the return side with a significant run between grille and air handler. If you are placing probes at the air handler rather than the grille, and still get the leaking duct flag, what does that indicate?
"Error registering, Please try again." Went to website and finally discovered how to register an account from there, it was a bit of a mystery. Still can't log into the Android app, maybe I need qbits...
Thank you for taking out the time to do a more detailed explanation of use and set up. I had the android tablet problem so many problems using android I had to quit using the Measure Quick software now getting Apple tablets to cure the problem.
I know there is a way. When I touch either the low or high side pressure gauge it will show just that one gauge. My question is how do you go back to seeing both high and low side gauges on the screen. Thank you in advance.
It can, but it is not as accurate at determing the pressures as a benchmarked system takes into account the installation variables like line set length and the associated pressure drops.
What if we work in a climate where we have basements snd the furnace and evaporator coil are located in the basement. Would it not make sense to put the return air probe in the main return air trunk since it will be sucking cool air from the basement
Jim could y’all create a Bluetooth expander so we can connect our devices from longer distance?
Love seeing a new MQ video Jim. Thanks for improving our quality in the field!

Any chance of seeing the UEI scales added to MQ?

I was just watching your mQ training video from 2018 yesterday and thought, “They need to do an updated video.” Can I call you Psychic Jim?
Not all heroes wear capes! Thank you Jim.
Great info. Jim. Thank you.
Do you have plans to support the UEI 429B?
Do you guys plan on adding yellow jacket titan -850 Or trying to get them to allow you to use it ?

Just select the one for your iPad. I really like the keyboard.
Thanks

Of course it does. :) But it will only give you hints on what to look for, it can't give you a 100% for sure answer.

The losses will be so low at the first register that it’s insignificant. Supply leakage will not affect the reading.
Would you recommend to try a different supply register if the split is out of range before adjusting things? I’ve seen differences between the registers that don’t always make sense for example a close one is warmer than further away even though you would think it would be opposite

Like supco redfish idvm550 supported on mq what about the cps volt-100 it’s like exact carbon copy to the idvm550?
It will not work with mQ. Different protocol.
Outstanding 🤘⚡️🤘
Appreciate the lessons Jim.

I'm using iConnect probes and it is not giving me option to map the probes. It shows some predefined mappings. Why is that?
We have not fully supported that product yet. The mapping is locked in. The products a little more complicated as we have to map zigbee network.
@@measureQuick Thank you for the update as I thought I was doing something wrong.
Thank you for taking out the time to do a more detailed explanation of use and set up. I had the android tablet problem so many problems using android I had to quit using the Measure Quick software now getting Apple tablets to cure the problem.
What tablet do you have?
I know there is a way. When I touch either the low or high side pressure gauge it will show just that one gauge. My question is how do you go back to seeing both high and low side gauges on the screen. Thank you in advance.
For the single high or low side gauge, push the MQ icon above the needle. For the vitals screen it’s pushing the trending button a couple times.
You press mQ in the middle of the gauge to toggle single or dual gauge mode. If you are in single gauge, press mQ again to go to dual.
Can a non invasive test be done on a system that hasn’t been perviously benchmarked?
It can, but it is not as accurate at determing the pressures as a benchmarked system takes into account the installation variables like line set length and the associated pressure drops.
measureQuick would a non invasive test be OK for a short line set, < 12 feet?
Waiting for your Measure Quick / Sensi Predict video 🤔
Would love to see UEI added
alguien que pueda traducir los videos de este canal al español?
Just learn English!
Still no love for refrigeration applications. :-(
There’s a refrigeration test mode

Yes, in blades with basements in the RA drop and 3-6’ away from the coil in the SA trunk or at the first register is ideal.
