I learned from my father who lived through the "Great Depression" of 1929, to reuse everything as long as it continues to do what it was designed to do! So, I would take all of those rusty bolts to the shop and clean them up with a wire wheel, clean the threads up real good, lubricate them and reinstall the bumper! You might say "oh that takes too much time" but my guess is, it would be less time than running to town for new bolts and paying inflated prices needlessly! Just a tip from an old man!
My dad and I used to have a can of used oil that we dropped the rusted bolts in…. One slow day during the winter we would dig some bolts out and wire brush that heck out of them. Made for a nice supply of spare bolts to have on hand.
Great minds think alike. 😊 I used an electric Makita chain saw to cut a number of trees around my property in Calgary, Alberta. Of course, they now have cordless chain saws but I really only have one tree left which is a Green Ash tree.
My dad.was the same way. I still have jars of used bolts that he saved. I'll never use most of them but I keep them.
I'd agree with you on the time savings if he didn't need to replace some broken ones. But knowing me, I'd clean the old ones and just replace the broken ones. Sending lots of love 💖 from sunny 🌞 Arizona 🌵. Take care of yourself and each other 😷.
Good to see and hear you’re feeling better. Your voice sounds clearer.
Have a nice weekend. Thanks for sharing.
I like the new way of feeding hay at the winter pasture! To solve the problem of the area getting too muddy, just hook to the empty feed wagon before rolling the bale into it, and move it to another location, then load it! Seems much more efficient than dragging the wagon back and forth!!
Would certainly save on trailer tires. 💖🌞🌵😷
I bet it feels good to get all those jobs done. Sometimes the little things are the big things. Getting excited for calving season!
Thank you for allowing us to go along with you on your journey. I swear, you can fix anything. God bless. Sending love from Oklahoma.
As always , great job ! We really enjoyed your live chat . Thank you once again for taking the time to share .
I believe the evergreen shrub you uprighted is an arborvitae. Tamp some good soil around the root ball and it should survive since the roots looked still moist and viable. The stock trailer refresh is really looking awesome, better than brand new.
It sure is😊, people mistake them with Junipers
I’ve not seen arborvitaes that wide. It isn’t a juniper as they are wide, not tall. It looks like a flat leaf cedar.

@@markfin7225 Arborvitea (Thuja occidentalis) Latin name, flat leaf cedar common name.
@@alisciamarotta3888 good catch. When I think of arborvitae’s, I think of landscaping columinar trees. They usually don’t get that big around.
I ENJOYED WATCHING THE VIDEO TYLER 😊
Your resourcefulness is inspiring Farmer Tyler.
Great news about those pesky rats FT! Looks like you e had a lot of rain. Happy you’re getting blue skies again! Happy you’re feeling better too! God’s blessings!!!❤❤❤❤
Ir-RAT-tacated.
I really liked replacement of light.
Can u do that in another video?
I need that skill. Explain it n tools used. Thanks
Enjoyed going along with you to do chores. cattle are looking great especially the HEREFORDS 😊
A good chore day, well accomplished!
Well l am from Huntsville ontario canada and l have enjoyed your blogs for a long time , farming seems to be similar all over. Love your dogsm and family❤
Just another day on the farm good job .
We did that to an Almond tree and that was like 8 years ago. And it’s still living and growing. I don’t prune it anymore just let it grow to the sky. LED’s are a good invention. You have done very good on your trailer repairs.
Nice job on the trailer. Keep the videos coming lol. I really enjoyed the live chat.
Thank you. My weekend is now good......😊
Good yhat you are feeling better, and probably your family too. You are right, there is always something to do on your ranch. Thanks for the great videos and aome twists on how to get things done.
You did well on your live TH-cam video nice ranch
Glad to see your feeling better and as always love watching.
Stainless steel bolts to attach bumper to aluminum to cut the corrossion
The schrup is an Arbravade. Some species grow to about 20' tall while others top out at 6' tall. AR-BRA-VADE. Long E.
Arborvitea
That bush you just pulled back in place looks like a Cedar Tree or in the family.
if its muddy, hook the feed wagon up to the truck, move it to a drier spot, then roll out the bail from the back of your truck, no? ... enjoy your videos. i watch them all.. from WI
I’m glad to see and hear that you’re getting better. The trailer looks brand new! Great job. Looking forward to seeing baby calves. I wonder if there will be any or how many that have the coloring of rivet. Saturday’s are always better when we have a FTR video to watch.
Good morning.
Rolling off the straw onto the trailer seems easier. You can always move the trailer first, but you know that.
Amother lunch date with hubby.
Hello from Florida. Been following from the beginning. Have my t shirts an sox.Really enjoy, brings back my younger farming days
Quite entertaining and the fur babies didn't interfere this video lol
Good thinking on all the repairs today take bail over is gonna be faster than taking the trailer good move there Tyler
New method of delivering hay to the winter pasture realizes a great saving in time and fuel - both sugnificant positives for you. Well done
Good update, hope the bush/tree makes a recovery. Cows look good!
Great video Tylor
Verdiğin mücadele için seni tebrik ediyorum. Türkiyeden selamlar.
Greetings from Indiana, USA
Thanks!
What about a short dialogue/video on the Wagner loader? Attachment, steering, hydraulics, and uses?
I think you're cooking bumper like that help out whole bunch to protect metal THANK YOU FOR THE VIDEO
Hi Tyler and beautiful family ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I agree with Charlie Smith..being frugal is the way to go nothing wrong with that!👍😁.Tyler you are already there its awesone how you repurpose or try to everything!...
Rats and mice are both rodents and while they are often mistaken for each other, the similarities really end there. These two pests don’t breed with each other and typically nest in different places. If a population is big enough that the two species cross paths on a regular basis and the food sources nearby are plentiful, then they can inhabit the same area at the same time; this is rare, however. Most often they are competing for the same food and rats will kill mice instead. In fact, mice and rats give off very distinctive odors and mice will flee when they smell rats nearby.
Hi 👋🏽 Tyler your brains is always ticking to Fix Anything., You are Just my kind of Guy I can do it myself 2-10-2024👍🏽👍🏽❤️
That's a cedar tree/bush Tyler! They are hardy here in Canada's cold winters! We've had to bind our cedars with twine to keep them well! Good watering helps...just don't drown them! 😳
We've been using the bucket trap for mice in our chicken coup, works great as we get 1-2 per day and so far almost fifty in total. Makes one wonder where they all come from.
Good evening, Tyler,
I enjoy your videos, and I know I’ve told you that often. But I figured out why. There’s a lot of variety, and every single one of your videos, compared to most videos. Focus on one thing they’re going to do a day. Nothing wrong with that, but your videos are in my opinion, very realistic about what farm life is about. There’s lots to do in a days time!!
I love it that you took out the time to fix that little light on the back of the trailer just because it’s been bothering you. I love the fact that you took time to think about the fact that you would like all of the lights to the LED, and therefore matching the trailer.. not really is wisdom in order that you have better lighting and brighter lighting when you’re traveling, whether it be at night or those early dusk and Dawn hours.
I’m looking forward to your next live, although I hope you are less nervous this time and I hope you realize the benefit from it as I personally enjoy learning more about your life on the farm and your life with your family. Have a wonderful week, from IOWA. !!
Hi Tyler- lost many a bush and tree from storms- please dump a bucket of dirt onto the root base for your bush! Oh, and if you take a closer pic of the bush, I think we can identify it- probably a juniper of some sort. Have a great weekend.
The large shrub it's Arɓorvitea
thank you, enjoyed this one! (Well I enjoy them all).
Looks like a juniper to me. We call them “cedar” in Texas. They soak up a ton of water.
It’s amazing what that battery powered chainsaw can do.
In the late 90’s early 2000’s I started buying the first generation stuff and power was limited and battery life and age was limited compared to today. I was kinda of a slow adapter to the Li technology due to this but haven’t looked back.
My dad is getting up there in age and usually has me come over to get his outdoor power equipment started and has been switching over to battery powered stuff. The only problem is he buys a different brand each time and then throws out perfectly good gas powered equipment because he can’t get it started.
Great video!
If you keep putting them out, I will keep coming back.
You sound better! Hi from Massachusetts
Thanks for sharing all you did. Will be interested to hear after awhile if you like taking hay on truck rather than hauling trailer back and forth, because moving trailer to a new location will take far less time that time spent in travel the original way.
Thx for sharing
You could still move the steer feed trailer, pull it withyour pickup.
thx
You could still move the wagon before you unload the bale!
You can always move hay wagon without taking it all the way home
Your not worried that bolt will come back and haunt you
How come we haven't gotten to meet Grandma yet ?
Need a nice flatbed on the 6.7. Be so much better for your operation.
Is the house you grandparents house?
You're okay ,you have a good head on your shoulders.
Just an observation.
I am a bit of a gardener (small) but I think you did a great job with that tree! I’d leave the straps there for as long as you can? Maybe the top strap on since it’s so tall. I love doing that kind of thing. I’m guilty of buying flowers and then moving them around to “better places” 🤣I love doing that kind of thing.
Is that your grandparents house since it’s their farm? Will you be updating it? You can have two channels people Love watching that stuff!! 🤣🙋♀️😂🙌🏻😜greatly enjoyed the video. See you next time!
Aluminum is great for a trailer , But any time you put metal parts including bolts and rivets through it, corrosion happens. That fine dusty stuff is worse than rust to stop once it starts.
Seems like you guys have been getting plenty of rain lately
I watch your videos for years and just think now : did you ever say your full name? Is Tyler your first name? I would like to know;) Anyway, you do a great job!
The tree appears to be a Leyland Cyprus? I sure hope it makes it. 😊
Please tell us your viewers how you were able to get the water mouse trap to start working this time. Was it the bait? What did you do different?
That tree will survive...you've fixed it...keep tension on it for 6 months and rachetch it more after every rain.
What the heck did we do before the age of battery operated tools???
Tyler, check into unrolling hay to feed in more places to spread your animal manure, urine, and hay refusals' nutrients about your paddocks. Regenerating your pastures will cut down on hay requirements! Look up Gabe Brown, Jim Gerrish, Greg Judy, Ray Archuleta, Steve Kenyon, George Heller, Allen Savory, and other regenerative folks, if you want to minimize inputs and maximize net income. Have a blessed day!
)o
Regarding the feeder trailer of the cow pasture, why don't you hook up to the empty trailer and move it where you want it, then unload the roll?
PUT SOME FERTILIZER ON THAT TREE THAT BLEW OVER TO STIMULATE THE ROOTS TO GROW!!!
WHEN YOU MIX TWO DIFFERENT TYPES OF METALS - ALUMINUM (TRAILER) and STEEL BOLTS; PUT GRAY ANTISEEZE ON THE BOLTS
Animal manure or compost is better for the soil than commercial fertilizer. Better for the pockketbook, too.
@@user-kv2pt4lu9y
YOU ARE NORMALLY CORRECT, BUT IN THIS INSTANCE THE COMMERCIAL FERTILIZER IS MORE EASILY AND COMPLETELY ABSORBED WHICH IS WHAT THAT TREE NEEDS ASAP.
Look's like a no brainer, eliminate feed trailer highway milage, cut number of forage trips to winter pasture with truck by half and saving fuel and wear on truck plus saving your time.
Dermatologist visit for being out in the sun so much.
It’s a juniper.
Arborvitea
How has the corral been holding up with the rice straw versus last year
Did the rice straw you put in the corral work out?? Less mud, I hope!
Alot of water next too the house ?
💖💖💖💖💖💖
Could you use the dump truck to haul the hay
When are you set to start calving?
💖💖💖💖💖
Is that your house where the limb was down
Cedar tree.
✌🏼💜
If I am correct, it is a ceder tree. If I was you, take it out because it is not a native tree in your area?
👍👍👍👍👍
Is the front end loader on your tractor home made I haven't seen one made out of round pipe
Dearborn, common for the 8N
Remind us what bait your using?
What type of hay are your feeding the cows?
Did you spray the underside of trailer pumper? Or not necessary?
If that easy for u to do that u always move the hay trailer then put the hay trailer in a different place just saying
I tried to comment on livestream but was too wordy, with the steers , could you cut the bladder out of an ibc, load up 3 bales and put a bladder upside down over 2, strap them down, then just uncover a new bale each day you needed one, save carting the trailer back amd forward
Juniper?
Arborvitea
Calli wants some one on one time with you
Who's house is that
Who staying in the house now
Who lives in the house on the farm?
