Hi Robert! I got my cabinet a few months ago and we've been having a great time with it! Even my wife is interested in playing! One question that we do have is: When you play online (rather than casual) there's obviously an active season going on where you can win clothing articles, etc., as you gain points through your play. The problem we have is that we can never figure out which courses are part of this season and will therefore reward us with points toward those goodies. Do you know how we could we tell which courses grant you points? Also, how can we tell when a season begins and ends? Any help is appreciated! 😀
To earn more stuff during the season you have to pay the $10 fee on the pga app. Once that’s done playing any course you can earn experience points towards rewards. When you check in your character it will tell you when the season ends. The season ends tomorrow and they are offering triple exp through today. Make sure to get and use the PGA tour app and not use the old legacy one. If you have any more questions let me know. Thanks for watching
@@gumby510 Hi and thank you for your quick response! Yeah, we were getting the free stuff in the left column (if you look at the "Club Pass" on the phone app) and no, we weren't getting the premium stuff on the right side of that screen. The question is (and it's hard to describe exactly what I'm asking): 1. Why do we qualify for points that raise our levels toward the free stuff on some courses, but not on others? 2. Also, now that you mentioned it, does the $10 fee cover the entire season or is that $10 per course or day or week or something else? 3. How do you know when a season begins and how long it is? 4. Is there somewhere in the game on the machine or on the app where I could get this information without bugging you for it? :) Again, your help is very much appreciated!
I never really thought about checking if point are for just the new courses. I believe it’s for all of them. I’d need to check this. The season is $10 and cover the whole season which is 3 months at least maybe 6 i forget. The new one should start on Tuesday. You can always join golden tee fan page on Facebook if you have any more questions. Lots of helpful people over there.
@@gumby510 Thanks again for your quick reply. Yeah, it seems like only certain courses give the points unless you're on Premium (so it seems). We play enough where it may be worth signing up for Premium anyway. It's really hard to find answers to questions about Golden Tee.... They really could use better PR. Anyhow, thanks again! :)
Great video…a couple quick questions: 1) can you explain how to hook up via WiFi? Do you need to purchase something incremental? 2) Do you need to plug into a surge protector? 3) Do you turn it completely off between uses? Thank so much!
I have mine hardwired. It comes with a wireless Ethernet adapter I believe. I just have it plugged into a wifi power strip. I turn it off and on with my phone app. I always shut it off as it’s just used on the weekends.
Great video! I'm close to pulling the trigger on this. What TV did you go with, and are you 100% satisfied with it? Also, what would you ballpark the MINIMUM comfortable depth from screen to cabinet is? I just dont know if the dimension of where the TV would be mounted on the wall to where I'm standing over the trackball is going to work for me.
Go with any LG 4K tv. Don’t go crazy big 55in is plenty. As far as your other question. Just move it to where you’re comfortable. Thanks for watching. Also order from flip n out pinball as they have the best prices shipped on the standard unit. They should have some in stock as well.
Thanks man, pretty stoked for sure. I bought it from Family Recreation Center up here in Canada. Really good price compared to anywhere else and didn’t have to deal with conversion/customs.
Hi Robert! Just got my cabinet and was wondering.... Is turning off the power in the back (click button) the only way to shut it down? Most computer-based units like this seem like they usually have a "soft" shutdown, rather than just killing the power..... Not usually good for computers! Thanks for your help!
Hey congrats on the pickup. It’s Linux based so it’s fine to power it off that way. I have mine hooked to a wifi power strip so I use my phone to turn it off and on.
Great video... Thanks for the information. How high did you mount your monitor? I'm trying to get away with putting my 50" TV on a floor stand, rather than trying to mount it to the wall. What do you think the minimum height of the bottom of the TV should be? Your help is appreciated! :)
You can get a stand that can adjust height wise. Just make it eye level so your looking straight ahead. You can pull the cab back as far as you like that’s comfortable for you.
@@gumby510 Yeah, I've been looking at stands and it makes me a little worried that they'll all set too low... Even at their max height. The best (highest) one I could find would put the bottom of my TV at about 32". And I see that the height listed for the GT PGA is 39", which makes me worry that I'd be looking down too much. What do you think?
Great video!! they need to add a bunch more exclusive courses for that price. I dont really regret getting my home edtion last year instead of waiting for this.. You need to stream some gameplay on youtube
Thanks! Ya I think me and Rex will do something together tomorrow on his channel. Your the only one who has done any type of video regarding this cabinet before it was released. No need for regrets you have 4 more years of updates and with the price point this is at I don’t see you loosing much value on yours. I got 3k for mine so I was out 2600$ plus 300$ for the tv. I like it so far it really looks sharp.
Ya I sold my old pedestal to pay a big chunk of it. I can totally understand and I have no idea why they out priced themselves to a vast majority of people. Stupid move
I had the rgb trackball in my first GT I had. The ball feel is off compared to the white one. I switched it back. You can probably change the blue LEDs if you rip the old ones out and go rgb.
@@robpeterson826 no this is the home version. You are not allowed to have a commercial machine in your home per IT rules. You could grab a legacy commercial pedestal and have it set to take dollars but it will not be online. Just casual play.
@@gumby510 O ok thank you! I just bought one, but I have to move it up and back against the wall when not playing because how I have my TV set up on the wall

You would have to get a whole separate nighthawk setup for that and install it with a prefect solution switcher. Same thing with arcade collection as well. It’s easier to add ssx to a legacy unit pedestal since both games run 1080p.
@gumby510 I know , I was just curious if they have released a real legit version we can buy, not having to get another nighthawk etc. Like scantron5k has in his machine, I was wondering if there was a legit , machine you could buy that has both games in the cabinet with the artwork and I think the one at the Bar I used to play had a 3rd game, like corn hole or something. It was back in college , so it's all little fuzzy. Lol
@@AJerseyJohnnyEntertainment no they just did arcade collection to give operators something to convert the old legacy pedestals into something else to make money. @gumby510 yeah that's what I figured, I guess I'm stuck with PBA PRO Bowling 2021. Lol it's almost as good as SS believe it or not and is free or $20 depending on your moral convictions. Lol 😆
@@gumby510 awesome, ridiculous collection. Quick question, do you leave thr golden tee on all the time or just when you use it? I noticed the power button is on the inside.
