Now gaining weight much easier than before and am trying to lose weight. It’s so encouraging to see your video❤

Guess what if I could do it you can also! Let's do it together! You got this! Start today! xoxo cc

Thank you so much for sharing this! I’ve gained almost 25 lbs over the 4 years (COVID weight) and now my belly and thighs are ridiculously big. I changed my every day outfit from sundress/sweater with straight fit jeans to t shirt with sweatshorts/sweatpants because I need elastic!! I keep convincing myself I have no one to impress and love how I am happy about what I eat, but in the deep down I really want to go back to how I used to look and know my diet is not healthy at all. I am going to try to get rid of 10lbs in two weeks too. Appreciate all the transparency!!!

    Hi Charis,
I’ve lost 22 pounds, but it’s taken me a long time to do it.
I’ll be 57 in July, and it’s definitely harder to loose weight now than it was in my 30’s and 40’s. (Plus I have a sweet tooth 😊)
    I’m in a size 8/10 now,but my goal is size 4/6.
Hopefully I’ll loose 20 more pounds by the fall.
Slow, steady, and permanent weight loss is my goal.

You can’t spot reduce. As a fellow Asian woman, I can understand where you are coming from. We are the opposites though. I have been chubby all my life. Now that I’m in my 40s, I’m in the best shape of my life. Losing weight is 85% nutrition. I no longer use those Asian seasonings that are high in sodium, like hoisin, oyster, and soy sauce. Please look into that. And I do not avoid carbs, I just switched to good carbs.

I am so proud of you. I would love to be doing this with you, but I’m 61 years old and I have CIDP, which is an illness like MS and I cannot exercise and I have to be careful of what I eat because it can cause a flare, but I’m watching you and living vicariously through you. Keep it up go to the weight you want so you feel good, you’re looking fantastic. Your face is looking more chiseled and inspiring your children to eat right more raw fruits and vegetables. You’re doing great. Keep it up and keep us with you. We love you.❤❤❤

Just getting caught up on videos of people I follow, congrats on taking the initiative. So far I’ve lost 65 lbs. this year on my journey and still going. For me day one I started tracking everything I eat, that was my 1st step. I try to eat healthy a majority of the time but if I want I still have chocolate, I just have a smaller piece. I try very hard to stay with my allotment of calories. I’ve been going over a tad too much lately so I need to be more consistent. I’m aiming for a high protein and fiber diet to feel full. I look for recipes that have a high volume of food and lower calories. I try to learn always. As I lose weight I’ve gone from completely sedentary, to being able to do more normal things. I’ve always been obese, so that’s not the same as losing a small amount, I do know the closer to your goal weight the harder it is to lose weight. If you do more of these videos, I’ll update how I’m doing too. Whether you have a lot or little to lose, it’s always good to know you are not alone.

Yeay Charis keep up the good work...well I started my weight loss journey last year June 2023 from 70 Kg and now this June 2024 is 57 Kg. I do cardio for several months ( dance workout 90 min ) , afternoon walk 30 min, pilates in bed 30 min , I did all this from home. I did calorie defisit, dinner at 6 pm, take a lot of water, and get a sleep 7 hrs yess I know it's hard but I have to stick with this pattern and be patient to myself. Well the main KEY is Being Consistent to workout everyday and do it with HAPPY WAY...DO NOT STRESS, just enjoy the process 😘😘. Well now I decided to keep this home workout to be my lifestyle cause I realize being 40++ is not the same like when 20++ 😁😄

It’s not cheating to take short breaks. Pause the video. Take about 15 seconds to breathe. Then, go back. If you are tired and exhausted at the end, that means you are working hard. A journey of 1,000 miles begins with one step.
I do Weight Watchers (which is Mediterranean diet based) and have kept 40 lbs off for four years. I workout 5 days a week to Sydney Cummings because she’s a big believer in strength training. The other two days, I do low impact just to get my body moving (usually GrowingAnnanas or Heather Robertson). About a year ago, I started stretching 20 minutes a day which helps tremendously with soreness and the ability to do certain exercises.
You’re doing great and keep it up. Lydia and Caleb were too cute exercising with you!

A lot of water weight around your belly will shed as soon as you reduce carbs (and remember, sugar is a carb). Healthy Intermittent fasting (low carb) and weight lifting works really well. Build up to it slowly, start by pushing back breakfast and don’t snack throughout the day. I do once a day now but it probably took close to 10 months to get here - it’s much more sustainable

I had gestational diabetes and the best way to lose weight is to eat diabetic diet. Based on observations on my insulin spike when I was monitoring, the breakfast should be protein and healthy fats if you are able to do that and save smoothies for lunch or snack. Eating high glycemic food as first meal makes you crave sugar the rest of the day.

  • @evangelinelim7174
    @evangelinelim7174 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

Your workout is the right one for you, core strength training, building muscles so that you can accelerate your fat burning.
Eat less simple carbs like rice , noodles and sugar, especially not on an empty stomach, it will cause a glucose spike then you will crave more food when your glucose level crash. Eggs and vegetables in the morning is good.
Exercise 20min is enough, don’t over stress, high cortisol ( stress hormone) will cause you to put on weight also. getting sufficient sleep can help you burn fat too.
Watch your calories, better to have a slight calorie deficit, so that your body will get energy from your body fat. Eat more protein so that you dont lose your muscles. Some carbs before your workouts is ok, so that you have energy for your exercise. Have carbs cycle days, a day high in carbs , then few days high in protein and less carbs. So that your metabolism don’t crash.
Drink lots of water 2-3L, add some apple cider to the water, take some Japanese supplements like black ginger that helps fat burning, and another one is carb blocker when you are about to have a heavy meal.
Skip rope for 2 mins is also good for lymphatic drainage and has 2x calories burn rate than running.
Try your best to avoid any sugar drink/ candy/ maple syrup/ snacks, cos it goes too quickly into your bloodstream, your body get instant food too easily then it will not try to burn your body fat.
Intermittent fasting works too. Get yourself a body composition weighing machine, tracks your muscle growth and fat loss.
You will not see the weight loss initially Becos you are building muscle, you will look lean but still have the same weight Becos muscles are denser than fat.
I lost 6 kg in 3 mths , I’m in my early 50s. I am doing all the above. I followed V Shred for my weight loss exercise, very similar to yours.

When I was 49, I weighed around 130 lbs, so I began getting back into shape and improving my diet. I began intermittent fasting and lost 7 lbs within 3 weeks. Here are my tips: I started drinking black coffee and still do in the morning. I don't have carbs until dinner. I learned that eating a lot of carbs for lunch made me sleepy. I only drank water, and I now drink mostly water and one can of Diet Coke occasionally. Eating more protein is very helpful. I also cut down on fruit with a lot of sugar, specifically grapes. I also eat salad without dressing. My eating period is from 11:00-6:00. No snacking or drinking alcohol. Not drinking isn't hard because I am allergic to it. Exercising does little for weight loss but is crucial for staying strong and increasing balance and mobility. BTW... fruit smoothie has a lot of sugar. I increased protein intake and decreased carb/sugar intake. Good luck.

Calorie deficit, strength or resistance training, and walking. Buy a fitness watch and start tracking your macros and steps. This helped me out and i went back to my weight before pregnancy. Also, it takes time and do not rush. Youll be burned out. I also do intermittent fasting (12 hours min).

So proud of you, Charis! I am trying to lose weight (again) and was so inspired by this video. One thing I would recommend is to incorporate strength training because it will help raise your basal metabolic rate-so your body will continue to burn calories after you workout. Also, have you considered a Peloton? The great thing about Peloton is you have access to different workouts like strength training. This would add variety to your workouts so your body is constantly challenged so you don’t plateau. Also, variety in your workouts would prevent injury from overuse of same muscles and prevent boredom!

Thanks for sharing! ❤ So, the initial 2 pounds you lost in the first two days was waterweight because you were reducing your carbs so drastically. But keeping your body in a caloric deficit will result in fat loss eventually. Just not the first couple days when you are reducing carbs.
Don’t forget to lift weights! We definitely need that as we age.

For me..i did intermittent fasting going to 2 meals a day. Cut all your portions in half, drink lots of water and eat protein with all your meals. No pasta, no bread will make huge difference. Walk at least 3 miles a day. Look for. Term changes, a new permanent behavior change. You still have lots of time.. You will reach your goals. Just go slow. In Asia, as you 21:33 know, every one walks to subways and then walks more, climbs ribs of stairs ECT. In USA we are sitting in cars. So you really have to invest in yourself and make your health a priority to do your walking, exercise and weight lifting as #1 in your day. You will do it!!

    130lbs is not high. You
Look great. So beautiful. Don’t focus on the number , but instead how you feel in your body. I tell my girls this constantly. It’s all about balance. You will be able to keep up the journey if you allow yourself carbs every once in a while. Just walk longer , work out a bit harder.
I had gained weight after my dad passed and I had our two youngest daughters. I finally decided to do more for myself so I could shop my own closet lol. I have the most beautiful items and brands that I haven’t fit into
for years . Now they are fitting again. Yay! I substitute 1-2 meals with a high protein plant based drink then have a healthy dinner. I also eat dinner closer to 5 to digest better.
I started drinking my coffee black as well.
Hope you are having a great Summer! We are headed to Florida tomorrow morning for the next 5 weeks. Can’t wait.

As u mentioned the fruits intake is also important due to the sugar and so your smoothies didnt really need any syrup. I love this approach because I get sad when I am hungry. Just try to be more mindful of what you eat now on and be consistent in order to maintain your weight. I also find that not eating after 8pm is good. I love how the kids participate which I'm sure helps to motivate you😊

Also, be careful how much fruit you eat daily . It’s good for you but has a lot of sugar which turns into carbs.
My husband was recently diagnosed with type 1 diabetes so I had to switch up our meals which has benefitted all of us.

wow you are so blessed that you have such a fast metabolism. You are still eating good calorie amount and fatty meats and loosing almost a pound a day. The most I would loose in a week be 1 - 1.5 pound with some real serious dieting. Good for you!

Hi Charis, thank you for sharing your journey. Great job in losing the weight and being so dedicated. I just hit menopause and this belly weight is so hard to get rid of. I have been doing really good on the nutrition aspect. I just need to commit to exercising everyday. What exactly did you put in your smoothie?

#1 tip, eating dinner early. I eat mine around 3/4pm Monday - Thursday. I eat about half of what I eat on weekends. #2 do more stretching. Wherever you are. If you have idle time, stretch on the spot
I lost 8lbs from colonoscopy. That really kicked started my diet. It really helped shave off that stubborn 5-8 lbs I wanted to lose

Don’t do too much Cardio Charis. Switch it up with strength training. Especially at 40 plus we need more muscle to maintain our metabolism 💪🏼 Try low impact (no jumping), it will get you more into “fat burning”. Or go for 30-60mnt walks. I’ve been doing Eleni Fit low impact exercises and it helped me losing my “40 plus belly” 😁 YOU CAN DO IT 👏🏼🙌🏼💪🏼

Thanks for sharing! Don't feel as though you have to eat salads all day. I believe low carb, low sugar, low sodium, high protein diet and LOTS of water... plus your workouts, and good sleep. Check which fruits are lower in sugar too... my trainer limited me to Berries and a little watermelon. You'll see results within 1-2 weeks. I won 2 body fat transformation challenges at my gym, and the kitchen was the key! I stopped my routines and am up 8lbs, so I'm with you. LET'S DO THIS! 💪🏿🦵💪🏿🦵

I am not someone that can keep doing an exercise routine so I started Optavia and lost 30 lbs in 5 months. I’ve been on Optavia for two years and have been able to keep the weight off without exercise. I do go off plan when I go on trips and find it so easy to lose the weight I gained when I go back on plan.

You can hire trainers, life coachs, and personal chefs but they don't make you fit. They sound important but you don't need any of them to change your behavior. Have your family physician do your blood work first. Your heart health and cholesterol should be monitored as we get older. You can do it. It is up to you and your thinking 🙏
