Gene good work on trek. You need to include yourself in some of these clips. The busses sure could use cosmetic assistance. Do any of them have espar or Webasto heaters?
Hey Jim, thanks! Yes, I am appalled that I did not have footage of me strapped to the back of my doublecab, nor is there a lot of footage of that doublecab in action as it was rigged as "the camera bus". Been a while but I need to go into some of the old footage. Maybe I can find some more cool shots. This is not a trip for shiny buses ... nope! Yes, there have been buses with gaoline heaters, Eberspacher, I believe. I don't recall if people mounted newer ones, but I do know of some people who have used Mr Buddy heaters to good effect.
Agreed .. these were some of my last videos I put up, and rather than proper edits, they were just showing the watchable (well, barely watchable) parts. The creative editing was supposed to be done later, but between a rather vicious hacking of my old website as well as some life changes .. just never got back to it. Go to Vimeo and search Shasta Snow Trip 2009 Friday, Saturday, Sunday ... those were "success" edits, I think. I should put them on here, so thanks for reminding me!
You guys sell dreams! I was wondering, what kind of engine are you guys running with, cause they not only sound but they seem to be very powerful ones, at least not the original 1300 petrol ones. Also, how come we don't see any T2s riding along with you guys?
Thanks - these are all VW 4-bangers, ranging in size from 1200-2000cc, with exhausts of various types and conditions, leading to the raucous din (I think mine in the truck I was riding in was broken off, too). It's a split-only event....
This might be the coolest thing I’ve ever seen!

Looks great fun, be nice to break up the video with other content, at the camp & people taking etc ✨👍
