Honestly these 3 block maps are so good because it seems like anyone could make one, and anyone can, but when you know a lot of tricks, it can make it so interesting, even with 3 blocks.
My sister hand made me for Christmas a bookmark in felt with a teal platypus on it. Didn't recognise him at first, but tied to the bookmark is also a small fedora you can place on the head of the platypus. PERRY THE BOOKMARK!
Thank you editor for adding the music in the top right. I have tried hunting down songs in older videos by a couple of lyrics I heard when Wirtual was focussing up.
@@ChiefFalque I always noticed as a kid with games, Halo has a lot of limitations, no sprint etc etc and it made players so creative and a lot of good players ended up with their own styles of playing and everyone was forced to be creative to get kills and win games, nowadays they give you 1000 options so nobody has to innovate as much.
@@kfc2180 You see it in other games too. When there aren't enough limits, people make their own. You ever want a good time, look up some RTS (WC3, SC2, AoE2, WH40K) challenge runs where they do pacifist or deathless runs.
One of the reasons I like making NES music. Using a full DAW, you have all sorts of escape hatches, like filters, polyphony, and way more memory. And even then, I don't know how to fully utilize everything. Constraining yourself to one triangle, one noise, one DPCM and two pulse channels? That requires a different kind of creativity. This also applies to software. Sure, you can use Unity, Raylib, etc. to make a game, but making something for a console like the NES, or even the Atari 2600, takes orders of magnitude more technical knowledge considering how limited those consoles were.
I am more familiar with the quote "Restrictions breed creativity." It was (probably still is) often touted by Mark Rosewater, Design Lead for Magic: The Gathering. Which has a comprehensive rulebook and inherently restrictive deckbuilding due to its color system. Even then players still like finding interesting restrictions. The ever popular Commander format got its start as a weird, niche restriction on deckbuilding conventions. 100 card minimum instead of 60, but every card has to have a different English name (except Basic Lands). The deck is based on a Legendary Creature that is designated the Commander and none of the cards in the deck can contain colors that aren't a part of the Commander's. There are other rules that affect how you might build a deck for this format, but with just the direct deckbuilding rules your choice of cards is quite narrow. Magic is older than dirt and has more cards than there are particles in the observable universe so having a narrower slice isn't totally detrimental. Which is why we can add even further restrictions. Pauper is a format that only allows Commons and up to 5 Uncommons. Why not adapt that and make Pauper Commander? One of Wizard's big money making formats is aptly named Limited Draft. There are variants, but these are officially sanctioned tournaments where you and the other competitors crack open 3 packs and then build a deck of 40 cards minimum based on what you found. Not to say Mark is the one who coined the phrase, but it was influential for me. So much so that despite not having played Magic for years I still needed to really restrict myself and be concise to get the point across digestibly.
20:56 Thats so crazy! I've watched hundreds of Wirtual TM vids and never noticed there was a driver until about 10 minutes into this very video and then all of a sudden a further 10 minutes in Wirtual even mentions it. What are the odds.
I must say I am very greatful to the editors that they started putting the name of the songs in the video. It was a real pain trying to identify some of them with all the driving and talking. And the music used on this channel is top notch.
5:19 Somehow this jump (and many others like that one) reminds me of those videos in which a cat wants to jump from the bed onto the cupboard, and then just misses.... 😉
Thr trick for map 16. I remember this trick! I am surprised at how much knowledge I have just from your vids on these games. Finally started playing and am having fun getting better
0:24 is precisely the point in time when the viridescent clock, made up of light emitting diodes, which shows how long this jester has been lingering under the agony and grueling pressure of "just another try", appears in this miniscule theatrical presentation, which therefore starts the said presentation.

I enjoy watching these 3-block maps a lot lol. Very simple to follow, basic task, heaps of restarts whenever without each one taking up a lot of time, the whole map is interesting to watch because there's hardly any of it.
lol thank god. the whole time I was wasiting for you to dunk on my time for 18(f.m). no one had done the slide at that time, then like 30 minutes later I got taken out. haven't had the time to go back for more.

Hey Wirtual, I use alt cam 1 for playing. Reason being that i was a cam 2 player at the older trackmania's, but you kinda need the dynamicness of cam 1 in this game, so it's a decent middle ground and works well. Best cam.
Hey Wirtaul, playing the longest map at 1 million subscribers sounds like a great idea but I think you could improve it. What if you slid around in mayonnaise while playing it?
I actually used alt cam 1 for hunting spring 24 07. Couldn't get sub 34 without it. Couldn't see on some turns how close I was to the edge of the road in regular cam 1 and alt cam 1 fixed that
