Man, just watched your video because I just purchased an Oklahoma Joe Highland smoker. This was one of the best videos I've watched. LOVED watching your co-star, lol. Thanks bruh!
great video man, yes you've got great help... precious times. I just bought mine @ Lowes ( on sale) for $199 I cant wait to get put together later today. Happy Smokin!!
Your not joking, I just upgraded from the crappy char broil (char-griller) here to a Oklahoma joe and that box was a bit of a trouble. great video and your little helper was making me laugh alot.
I just purchased my OK Joe's from Lowe's for $199.00 on sale right now. Still waiting on my mod orders and hope to start assembly next week. Thanks for the instructive vid and your daughter is a cute little hoot!
Great update on your smoker I've got the same one bought my one last year its not as good as i though but then its the best i could get in the uk . you had some great help there lol
Thanks for the video! I'm putting mine together and wondering if they missed drilling holes for the leg assembly and if the bolts were supposed to be sticking out that far on the legs. Thanks for showing the underside! I didnt have to throw anything then angrily call the company, so subscribing just for that!
Great video - I don’t understand why the bolts on the legs and smoke stack don’t thread into the unit? I thought mine was defective at first but I see you have the same thing. I’m considering drilling holes but why is there an extra three inches of screw sticking out!
Awesome turn out,...thinking of getting that kinesthanks forthe upload, and the thought of high temp sealer, some high temp gaskets,...and weld flange to pipe
I'm going to use a welder ( lower heat setting)and weld that gap shut in the fire box and by the stack, then some high temp flat black paint to make it pretty again
for the back yard BBQ they work just fine with out all the mods. I done 1 with mods one with out mods. the both cooked just fine .no noticeable deafferents.
I've got an Oklahoma Joe's Longhorn that needed some modification, but once I got it sealed properly and a few other things, it works great. There's definitely a learning curve to operating one of these things, but I'm getting there. Every pork butt is a little better than the last one.
Walmart has a subsidiary here in UK the OJH retails at £400.00 I bought mine home from my Texas home bought whilst Working in Lowes $200 00 less employee discount. loving it .
The store put mine together for me ,so i have to take mine back apart to seal it. Im going to try and use that stove sealing tape they use on the doors to seal everything.it will probably be alittle work but i think it will be worth it.
Manufacturer says nothing about machine oil, just how to season the smoker. If there IS machine oil, hot water with a bit of dish soap will take care of it. Just be sure to let it dry well before putting on a THIN coat of vegetable oil. Then season per instructions.
Man, you're so lucky to have such a precious helper with your assembly. My little man loves to help me BBQ on my Oklahoma Joe that he helped me put mine together too. I bought mine for fathers day last year and have really loved cooking on it. My little guy's been my little grill helper since he's been able to walk. Take a look around the web for good mods to do to that smoker, a charcoal basket and tuning plates are the first things you'll want to look at to make that thing run like a champ. Scroll about halfway down this link for pictures of some good mods to do to your smoker... www.smoked-meat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=41496 Keep up the good work, and teach your lil grillmaster the trade from day one. Dad to Dad, cheers man!
Dutch Ugh. Sorry to hear they’re not made in the USA. Mine just arrived today so thanks for your video in advance. I’m hoping it helps me-I’m the most not the most handy guy in the world!
Reuben, nice video assembling your new OJ. Good and popular smoker in that price range. what a sweet little daddy's girl helper. They don't stay young long. I subbed your channel and will check out your other vids. I also have a fairly new channel and would appreciate you stopping by and checking it out. I would be thrilled if you would subscribe. Thanks-Phil in Florence

Nive video. Your little helper is precious.
Your helper stole the show bud!
Good on you for letting her do her thing instead of sitting her in front of a screen to keep her out of the way.
Haha seeing your daughter run around was hilarious. Hope youve enjoyed the Joe. Such a good smoker

Update on this smoker? Any cooks?

Good job, Eden.

The part to attach the legs to, did they have holes for the screws? Mine doesn't , I'm baffled
No, mine didnt have holes. You probably have to drill some. Bad design flaw on their part huh?
I have no hole marks on the belly should I take it back
Daddy's little helper.👍👍👍
How do you do a burn in to get rid of machinw oil etc
Manufacturer says nothing about machine oil, just how to season the smoker. If there IS machine oil, hot water with a bit of dish soap will take care of it. Just be sure to let it dry well before putting on a THIN coat of vegetable oil. Then season per instructions.
I’m thinking about going to get buy one. How do you like it. Any modifications needed?
It doesn’t matter if it’s torqued to spec or cross threaded. TIGHT, IS TIGHT!
Can i grill on this?
Is it not much better to go to a welder guy to put weld them all together instead of a high temp sealant???
Nel Edora yes but as a cheaper option the sealent helps
Firefbox will, someday, need to be replaced. When that day arrives, you'll be thankful you caulked it and not welded everything.
13:42 just casually testing if it feels and tastes right
