The thing is... You don't have to be religious to be touched by music. I'm not religious by any means, but by the second this song started to play on the ending credits of "A Time to Kill" I was knocked to the ground lol . Such a powerful, beautiful harmony, you can't help but fall for it. Thank you for sharing, I've been looking for this song :)
Funny thing is Im a devout atheist and Ive been searching for this song for 20 years lol this version is done b The Jones Sisters - Take My Hand from the A Time To Kill soundtrack.
*Thomas A. Dorsey "Precious Lord, take my hand Lead me on, let me stand I'm tired, I’m weak, I’m lone Through the storm, through the night Lead me on to the light Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home When my way grows drear precious Lord linger near When my light is almost gone Hear my cry, hear my call Hold my hand lest I fall Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home When the darkness appears and the night draws near And the day is past and gone At the river I stand Guide my feet, hold my hand Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home Precious Lord, take my hand Lead me on, let me stand I'm tired, I’m weak, I’m lone Through the storm, through the night Lead me on to the light Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home."
Cissy Houston vocals...Just finished watching movie, A Time to Kill. Closing credits going down on TV screen. I hear Cissy Houston vocals. I wait for credits on this song...Cissy Houston name in credits. I know Her voice through the many changes of Her career.
Is this really from the soundtrack? The version at the end of 'a time to kill' is in the key of G, this is in F#. Im not doubting you just wondering why the soundtrack would be different to the film

"Precious Lord, take my hand
Lead me on, let me stand
I'm tired, I’m weak, I’m lone
Through the storm, through the night
Lead me on to the light
Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home
When my way grows drear precious Lord linger near
When my light is almost gone
Hear my cry, hear my call
Hold my hand lest I fall
Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home
When the darkness appears and the night draws near
And the day is past and gone
At the river I stand
Guide my feet, hold my hand
Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home
Precious Lord, take my hand
Lead me on, let me stand
I'm tired, I’m weak, I’m lone
Through the storm, through the night
Lead me on to the light
Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home."
Thanks for putting up the lyrics

Love ❤️ it lord please take my hand and lead me on!
Lord have mercy on our souls in the name of the son of man.
Don't be me, be better than me
I want to find the scene where they let their daughters meet.
The other version in the film A time to kill was superior. The Jones sisters. I cant find a recording of it
don't think there is..... but thankfully we have "TH-cam"..=)
It's the same version. They modulate up a half step later in the song and that's the part they put in the film.

This is the same version. The song modulates up 1/2 step. It was performed by the Jones Sisters backed by Christ Memorial Church Choir.
Samuel L Jackson. Is the best of them all. He doesn't kiss ass or back down from the KKK LIKE THE REST
