John, i spent all my summers as a kid and later lived in Ladentown. My family were friends of Ramsey, Nick and Dory Conklin. My father worked in the CCC at Pine Meadow. Thanks for the links, our house was just below the Last Conklin cabin. We were on Diltz road. My sister went to school with young Johnny Conklin. Thanks for the memories. I live on Long Island now and hike there occasionally.
I hiked to Pine Meadow Lake on Sunday following red the entire way, between Stony Brook, Cascade of Slid and the Stone Giants, this is one of the most gorgeous trails..;) And an easy hike too! Great video!
Hi John, where is the cemetery in relation to the lake? Ive done the Pine Meadow Lake Loop many times, but had not idea there was a cemetery or ruins up there. Thanks!
Kevin Shackleton Hi Kevin The cemetery is not easy to find., it is pretty much right on the lake. Like you I have done that hike many times and never knew there was a cemetery there. I only found it because somebody on the trail told me where it was. Good luck finding it
This video was great! I'm hiking for the first time this weekend to pine meadow lake. What's the easiest path to take from the visitor center? Is it the white trail?
Hi kreama211 welcome aboard my channel and I'm glad you enjoyed this video. If I remember it is the red trail from the visitor center all the way to the lake. This is a very popular hike so there will be a ton of people on the trail. Just follow the crowd and ask questions if you're not sure. Good luck and enjoy the hike.

Great job!! Awesome footage John. Thanks for taking the time to show us your day bag and gear.
John: I am liking the lower level camera shots especially those hiking along the trail over rocks and of water features. Nicely done.
Thanks Mike always trying to find new things to make it interesting
I bumped into someone who looks just like you yesterday in Harriman on the blue trail.;)
JenNYC263 hi Jen I was in Harriman on Sunday walking on the long path with a older gentleman so it definitely could of been me.
