I'd say the game evolves by itself mostly. The devs tell the game they want a level with certain characteristics. Devs add some hand coded special quests and monsters. But most content is randomly generated by an AI that knows how to do do RPG landscape. Boss Monsters scale with the strength of the group that's fighting it. Otherwise most players wouldn't have reached even second floor. This fight here is a good example. The noops did just no damage - the game knows there are some powerful characters in the group so the boss was scaled up.
This is my theory too. It also explains why there are skill rewards for really dumb things, like eating a dungeon boss, that the Devs seem totally unaware of (a - Who would eat the boss? b - Devour is so obviously broken that no sensible dev would make it.) Love it all though.

The LN goes into it more, but the reasoning was that anyone able to do most of the things Maple has done should be super OP/high level already. Maple has just stumbled on some edge cases that no one ever expected anyone to ever attempt. It does not show in the Anime, but the first Boss fight for maple with Hydra took something like 6-8 HOURS because each of her bites was only 1 damage. Likewise her first skill required that she be attacked by a mob for 1 HOUR without taking any damage, it's only possible with high level characters OR a level 1 with max defence and that 1 specific mob with the least damage. Much like a lot of her other skills, everything just falls into place with random luck that would have anyone else winning the lotto.
For instance this skill was the reward for beating the super boss of the 4th floor or her amour which was a reward for fighting the boss solo and wining on the very first attempt and being first to do it solo or how she and sally got pets before anyone else by beating a super boss that was not meant to be beaten Kind of a thing is best stuff is gotten by having more of your stats under the boss so maple gets the best stuff because 4 of her stats are always under the boss

So at much higher levels, it is probably only equal to a decent spell or something and not a one hit KO. I could see a "you hit me I deal damage back and gain mana" skill being balanced with the right numbers.
Ironically she's destroyed every boss on the floor except the one she was looking for so she had to have them print her in the right direction so she could beat them and make it to the next floor

I don't know about the anime, but I read the novel and you can actually see how it does take time. You can feel how players grind through the game for days and weeks more there.
Perhaps "thanks" to Maple, they have 4 or 5 floors ready to go, and are working on the 10 floors after that? Kinda wonder if they will inform Maple that SHE is the final boss of floor 100 or 1,000 after she defeats their "final boss" at previous level (99 or 999) or the final level with ease, not even having to use 1/100 of her powers and abilities. Will she reach a point where she forgets some of the powers and abilities that she has, because she has so many?

Maple Tree Definitely is a collection of broken builds with insane synergies, Each member is a powerhouse in their own regard if they're in their element, with the myriad of combinations Maple Tree can do with their members it's just ridiculous
She didn't get it by accident, It's a well known event because "IT'S AN IMPOSSIBLE TO BEAT EVENT" for everyone who tried it. Even maple have a hard time with that oni as she was forced to use all of her skills to beat it lol. LN was so intense than the animation which is so disappointing.
Hydra: She resisted the poison and ate it from the inside. Angel: She completed a quest by flying an npc point to point, which would have been difficult if done normally, and have item before the quest. Demon: Stumbled upon Boss and ate it from the inside. Machine God: Crashed why flying and landed in Boss Area, which she recieved said form and then she Full Powered Blasted said Boss with Machine God. Oni Army: Mimicked Oni Statues randomly, which summoned her to Boss Area and befriended Oni Boss after exploding him point blank. Heavenly Throne: Helped Teamates one-shot a boss. ... next form is she either stumbles upon said Boss which she'll either eat it or explode it or befriend it.
Answer he ate the damn boss The damn thing drag her to bottom of the sea so it his funeral. Also maple said it was delicious so there that. Even the dev decided to make the boss more delicious lmao.
So counting up Maple's skills so far: she has a shield that eats enemies on contact, a giant Squirtle that can shoot solar beams on command and can double as flying transport, the ability to conjure vast quantities of poison and acid on her person and three dragon heads that can spray both, psychokinesis, an AOE Holy Circle that give her allies her level of defence buff, two Second Phase Boss forms that allow her to become a Gurren Lagann Gundam monstrosity and a Bloodbourne Alien Queen lookalike that additionally give her both artillery and serpent mobs to attack with- AND she can now summon the Oni equivalents of both Ornstein and Smough from Dark Souls to gangbang another boss. Damn, Maple. Calm down.
And the best part: pure chance. Her "build" is functional nonsense, remember, all of her stat points are in defense, she should not be packing this much of a punch, but ever since discovering "death by a thousand nibbles" is a viable attack, nothing has come close to stopping her. The playerbase is lucky she's a total cinnamon roll, or she'd have a body count piercing the clouds.

Like all food items have 1 "Hidden" HP and a player's bite does that much damage when eating "Killing" it for the beneficial effect...so she just D&D'ed a completely normal mechanic in the craziest way.

So, she's practically invulnerable, and her attacks are unblockable. With her guild duplicating her, you can have 9 maples running around, killing everything in sight. Screw the clouds. Her body count has it's own dedicated server.
Dive in games are nice but probably not this one game... It has Bethesda level Exploits that with the current gamers we have now.... There will be a hundred maples and be shutdown after a month 😅
@@DeathkaiserG Not really. Don't forget that, until Maple figured out the secret to gaining mega advancement, most characters would never even attempt the methods she used to get to where she got to. And with the devs constantly nerfing Maple at the beginning and live-coding out her short-cuts to power, its doubtful that there'd be too many people copying her. And besides, even with the games of the past 2 decades, there's still stuff in a lot of them that people are still only just uncovering even now, so who's to say that a total immersion game like the one in Bofuri wouldn't be built along similar lines, where secret stuff is coded into the game without most of the development team knowing about them, until years after its release? 😅

Nah, its a standard feature on each level to be the 1st to "defeat" certain special side-quest bosses or sub-bosses within a given set of parameters to win special awards, and on the first try no less. Maple's problem is that her unerring lack of direction always seems to take her to these special bosses almost directly, and for her to have an annoying ability to think and act miles outside of the box when she comes up with unheard of solutions to beating them, and thus cumulatively collecting all these ability and power awards into one small, adorable, and totally lethal package so that any normal level boss becomes totally outclassed by her. The extra bosses that Maple finds on each level are usually the ones that people in other games don't discover until years, if not decades later.
Pal characters that reach end-game on an rpg get weird, and I mean real weird like…… I don’t know I remember this one rpg where by endgame the tank can stop time, the healer can summon a literal black hole and don’t ask me how but a ranger shot actual meteorites

Even the Dev's could not imagine "Ms. Maple") you should be fine. Recall ... even the Dev's can't defeat Maple. They gave up trying to nerf her. She just shrugs it off and comes back at least 100 to 1000 times stronger than before they nerfed her. 😁 The Dev's also realized Maple's infamy has spread, and even more people are playing, hoping to defeat the accidental true final boss: Maple. Therefore, if they leave her alone, they make more $/£/€/¥ 😁👍

To guys who might think this is inspired by Knights of Round... The english translation said Pandemonium. But the exact words that Maple said is Hyakki Yakou. Literal translation: March of a Hundred Demons. Not even sure if she had to use all 100...
Well; they did help her find the right boss to get to the next floor, but let be honest, Maple could pick up a one or two more weird skills, abilities or items before facing said boss with implied she still use pandemonium because reasons. Essentially Maple is a walking, demonic, god killing machine and it is reasonably to fairly hard to beat.
@@MrDibara I want to mention; that Kitsune didn't suffer when it being killed by Maple, it welcomed an honorable death by Maple The ones that get eaten by Maple suffer, the hydra, the demon and a squid/octopus to name a few. all that's missing is a skill to increase the range of loving sacrifice then she can do a proper invincible boss step 1. turn on loving sacrifice, and heavens throne step 2. use pandemonium, hydra, plus poison magic. that is the first turn next turn is atrocity then the next and final phase is machine god explosion and she still has hp after what a monster
Just to assure everyone, Pandemonium is not OP! MAYBE! Not sure if she will ever fight the Oni again cause right now the skill is weak and does not deal out as much damage as one would think. If she does fight the Oni, the skill gets stronger... but this is Maple we're talking about she just wants to have fun!
There has to be a special event where Maple is the final boss. This, unfortunately, means no one is successful because she beats every single person in every single guild who all teamed up to take her down. She does thank them for a fun time.
Honestly they are lucky Maple was there to get them the easy kill. Even with the other experienced players there, it probably would've taken them three times as long to clear the fight.
Wow, didnt know about THAT skill! Now she can summon an army of horrifying monsters too?! Does it stack with her angelic defenses so she has an army that cant be hurt while they pummel everything into the ground?
The skill only last 1 min from a boss that as to be beaten solo that most could not even beat in a team until maple 1shot it that is (the dev are playing it safe)

LN, it actually took a lot of effort from Maple, and the only reason she even won that fight was that even HER OWN attack skill, which is putting her Machine God skill on full Cooldown to get what would normally be an Overkill Kamikaze ploy move, couldn't deal enough damage through her VIT. But she had to keep interweaving Hydra, Machine God, Syrup flying and almost her entire stock of Iz crafted throwables and buff items to shave that Oni's HP past 50-70%.
Seven people just witnessed Maple commit animal abuse and right now they're thinking "HOLY CRAP!!! WHAT KINDA HELLISH SKILL IS THAT!? IS SHE EVEN HUMAN AT THIS POINT!?" and etc.
To be correct... she need help on sending her to the boss... before roam around and kill other hidden bosses... her antenna for direction only aim for unique skills...

First skill *maple build* first she is a slow moving fortress with a infinite mana stack buff (the one were she consume the enemy with her shield) AOE mage skill, got nerf into limited stack per day but still OP. Second skill *Stat Sharing* An AOE team buff skill that turning all teammates into maple def stat build without changing their stats ( a different kinds of maple) Still OP. Third skill *Self Change Summon* change herself into a Monster sacrificing the main stats build and gear( if that self summon died she just turn back into maple build with no scratch at all) as always still OP. Fourth skill *Gear Change* turning her into a fast air moving laser tank, changing the main gear (def gear) into long range AOE gear. Still F***ing OP. Fifth skill....... *Demon army summoning* .... Sixth skill *Heavenly God* ......
U forgot hydra the ultimate poison atk (poor squid boss),hyper deam using syrup, 70 % not die with 1 hp ,counter ,core explosion (it 1 shot a boss this episode),2 different mini summons & wooly mode

Angel: She completed a quest by flying an npc point to point, which would have been difficult if done normally, and have item before the quest.
Demon: Stumbled upon Boss and ate it from the inside.
Machine God: Crashed why flying and landed in Boss Area, which she recieved said form and then she Full Powered Blasted said Boss with Machine God.
Oni Army: Mimicked Oni Statues randomly, which summoned her to Boss Area and befriended Oni Boss after exploding him point blank.
Heavenly Throne: Helped Teamates one-shot a boss.
... next form is she either stumbles upon said Boss which she'll either eat it or explode it or befriend it.
I kind of want her to eat it while befriending it at this point.

So counting up Maple's skills so far: she has a shield that eats enemies on contact, a giant Squirtle that can shoot solar beams on command and can double as flying transport, the ability to conjure vast quantities of poison and acid on her person and three dragon heads that can spray both, psychokinesis, an AOE Holy Circle that give her allies her level of defence buff, two Second Phase Boss forms that allow her to become a Gurren Lagann Gundam monstrosity and a Bloodbourne Alien Queen lookalike that additionally give her both artillery and serpent mobs to attack with- AND she can now summon the Oni equivalents of both Ornstein and Smough from Dark Souls to gangbang another boss.
Damn, Maple. Calm down.
And the best part: pure chance. Her "build" is functional nonsense, remember, all of her stat points are in defense, she should not be packing this much of a punch, but ever since discovering "death by a thousand nibbles" is a viable attack, nothing has come close to stopping her. The playerbase is lucky she's a total cinnamon roll, or she'd have a body count piercing the clouds.
@@vincentleonard3797 And the funny thing is IIRC the "Thousand nibbles" thing is all because that's how they handled food. Like all food items have 1 "Hidden" HP and a player's bite does that much damage when eating "Killing" it for the beneficial effect...so she just D&D'ed a completely normal mechanic in the craziest way.
@@vincentleonard3797 Also, with atrocity, her defence is still the same, but she gets added attack automatically. I think it was around 500? So, she's practically invulnerable, and her attacks are unblockable. With her guild duplicating her, you can have 9 maples running around, killing everything in sight.

@@DeathkaiserG Not really. Don't forget that, until Maple figured out the secret to gaining mega advancement, most characters would never even attempt the methods she used to get to where she got to. And with the devs constantly nerfing Maple at the beginning and live-coding out her short-cuts to power, its doubtful that there'd be too many people copying her. And besides, even with the games of the past 2 decades, there's still stuff in a lot of them that people are still only just uncovering even now, so who's to say that a total immersion game like the one in Bofuri wouldn't be built along similar lines, where secret stuff is coded into the game without most of the development team knowing about them, until years after its release? 😅
@@DeathkaiserG Yeah, the final part of Season 2's last episode even outright had one of the people in the chat saying many new players are already focusing on one stat like Maple. If this were real, the game would be too unplayable with that many busted players.

Nah, its a standard feature on each level to be the 1st to "defeat" certain special side-quest bosses or sub-bosses within a given set of parameters to win special awards, and on the first try no less. Maple's problem is that her unerring lack of direction always seems to take her to these special bosses almost directly, and for her to have an annoying ability to think and act miles outside of the box when she comes up with unheard of solutions to beating them, and thus cumulatively collecting all these ability and power awards into one small, adorable, and totally lethal package so that any normal level boss becomes totally outclassed by her. The extra bosses that Maple finds on each level are usually the ones that people in other games don't discover until years, if not decades later.
I still find it weird how someone who specializes in defense can have an ability like this.!

Shes essentially summoning and transforming. When transformed her skills are most likely reallocated to fit the transformation.

Recall ... even the Dev's can't defeat Maple. They gave up trying to nerf her. She just shrugs it off and comes back at least 100 to 1000 times stronger than before they nerfed her. 😁
The Dev's also realized Maple's infamy has spread, and even more people are playing, hoping to defeat the accidental true final boss: Maple. Therefore, if they leave her alone, they make more $/£/€/¥ 😁👍

The english translation said Pandemonium. But the exact words that Maple said is Hyakki Yakou. Literal translation: March of a Hundred Demons. Not even sure if she had to use all 100...
Well; they did help her find the right boss to get to the next floor, but let be honest, Maple could pick up a one or two more weird skills, abilities or items before facing said boss with implied she still use pandemonium because reasons. Essentially Maple is a walking, demonic, god killing machine and it is reasonably to fairly hard to beat.
I wish that Skill was called [Onigashima]. It just fits too well to not be named that! _Also, R.I.P. kitsune._

Just to assure everyone, Pandemonium is not OP! MAYBE! Not sure if she will ever fight the Oni again cause right now the skill is weak and does not deal out as much damage as one would think. If she does fight the Oni, the skill gets stronger... but this is Maple we're talking about she just wants to have fun!

There has to be a special event where Maple is the final boss. This, unfortunately, means no one is successful because she beats every single person in every single guild who all teamed up to take her down. She does thank them for a fun time.

The skill only last 1 min from a boss that as to be beaten solo that most could not even beat in a team until maple 1shot it that is (the dev are playing it safe)

LN, it actually took a lot of effort from Maple, and the only reason she even won that fight was that even HER OWN attack skill, which is putting her Machine God skill on full Cooldown to get what would normally be an Overkill Kamikaze ploy move, couldn't deal enough damage through her VIT. But she had to keep interweaving Hydra, Machine God, Syrup flying and almost her entire stock of Iz crafted throwables and buff items to shave that Oni's HP past 50-70%.

Second skill *Stat Sharing*
An AOE team buff skill that turning all teammates into maple def stat build without changing their stats ( a different kinds of maple) Still OP.
Third skill *Self Change Summon*
change herself into a Monster sacrificing the main stats build and gear( if that self summon died she just turn back into maple build with no scratch at all) as always still OP.
Fourth skill *Gear Change*
turning her into a fast air moving laser tank, changing the main gear (def gear) into long range AOE gear. Still F***ing OP.

U forgot hydra the ultimate poison atk (poor squid boss),hyper deam using syrup, 70 % not die with 1 hp ,counter ,core explosion (it 1 shot a boss this episode),2 different mini summons & wooly mode

They made anti Maple tower in the latest episode & did only 1 damage on the 3 floor to Maple with terrain damage (which made the devs jump for joy)
