I finally got to meet Johnny on June 12, 2004 at beaver creek resort in Colorado. He autographed my 8x10 poster of the show! I moved from Cedar Grove, NJ to Aurora, Colorado in 1968. He is my favorite singer and I feel that NJ power in me while listening to this video! I remember the Capitol Theater when I was a kid in the sixties. My Grandparents lived on Bergenline Avenue in Union City. I was feeling really bad and in pain and listening to this video is healing me. I love it. Tommy "Thomasino" Lippi, Denver
Happy to be able to say I was at this show. I was lucky enough to do 100's of Southside shows in my 38 years in music. They will always be my favorite band and i have been lucky enough to see them all. A huge thank you to Jeremyx La Musique for post this show. Thank You
Southside and the Asbury Jukes was my first concert, Convention Hall Asbury Park... Between his energy and the Miami Horns I was hooked for life... I even spent many a night at the Pony with La Bamba...
Yeah, Southside and his tremendous band did a show at a school I was attending in the late '70s' to early '80's. They freaking blew little Allegheny College right the fuck out of the water. 😎
@@BT-be8rh Yeah, I was a HUGE fan of the Boss in my younger days. But as I got older (and maybe even a little wiser) I now believe Southside and the Jukes just kinda crush Bruce. 😋
Steve is part of the band on the Hearts of Stone album. He's in the picture on the back of the album. It's a shame that Billy Rush (guitar) didn't stay with Johnny. He sort of disappeared after he left the band.
every time I see johnny online I see damn good fun he reminds me of Lee Brilleaux of dr feelgood from Britain lees performance as much energy more severe perhaps in intensity johnny has always excels to me he eclipsed bruce springsteen. bruce went political with obama et al left a bad taste...

The best band ever !
No one is better.... no one! ❤❤❤
Thank you so much for posting! This is real passion and joy... and Stevie is a part of it...

Brilliant. Great sound. Saw him twice in London and once in Atlantic City and I hope to see him one more time now I live in USA (Texas)
It was 1979 to forever!🎉❤
One of the best live bands I know of.
Great stuff. Saw the Lisner Auditorium show in DC in 85. Pretty sure it was 85, LOL.
Billy Rush the lead guitarist was great and this was one of his last shows in 1985 with Southside. He wrote or co wrote many of the Southside songs!
That isn't Billy Rush on lead guitar. It is Bobby Bandiera.
Seeing them live during 5hese years wS an expetience
Saw the Chicago leg of this tour. Koko Taylor opened. Awesome show. Bobby Banderia was excellent.
I was there in '85 as well. Awesome show indeed.
SSJ....none better. Bruce, stay home.
you wouldnt know who Southside was without Bruce lol
@emitwilson8906 not true. Little Steven maybe but certainly not BS.
@@FuntastixBand Talk To Me and The Fever, his other 2 biggest hits outside of I Dont Want To Go Home, are written by Bruce
@@FuntastixBand Along with Hearts Of Stone
@@emitwilson8906 Bruce, the born in the USA punk who acted insane to dodge the draft. Real born in USA type of guy. SSJ any day.
Love it.❤
THANK YOU! Such a drag when some other uploader got rid of this vid on their channel
There's a ton of stuff missing from TH-cam in general.
They lost alot when piano player died still awesome band
Kevin Kavanaugh. His drummer at that time was good too; Bam Bam Becker. Lost both.
Yeah, Southside and his tremendous band did a show at a school I was attending in the late '70s' to early '80's. They freaking blew little Allegheny College right the fuck out of the water.
😎
I actually loved him yet didn't realize that I was dating his Nephew! 😂😂😂🎉🎉 Were now having a party 🥳 🎉.
Amazing, wow, best live stuff from him, superb mix! I've seen them three times, always with horns. Does not get tighter! Who is the drummer?
Richfield (Cleveland) Coliseum 1979
6:49 Who's that on sax?🎷🤔
Joey Stann
1:04:50 Who's that on trombone?🤔
Can't tell who it is. Lighting is bad
Labamba
That isn't LaBamba. It is Bob Ferrel.@@Onemore59
Sue denault……you there ?
Steven Van zandt play for Southside Johnny I thought he was in Bruce Springsteen's band.
He's been a part of both bands and wrote a lot of the songs for Southside, personally I like his work with the Jukes better.

Southside’s a much better singer then Bruce. You know who said that, right?
Guy they have now on piano he's ok but he's not kavanaugh
@user-ij9rk8du9e it's Jeff Kazee from NYC. Has another trio with SSJ bassist called Early Elton. Awesome keys player.
That doesn't look like billy rush to me
it's another thing after Billy Rush for me the best moment of jukes is the year 1979
Bobby Bandiera!💖
Not sorry🎉🎉🎉
Just for my taste, for example, tempo too fast and vocal straying from the original melody, "Talk To Me".
