    That's pretty slick. I like how they designed the frame with the tracks in mind.
    That's quite the beast after you have all that stuff installed! Your quad is bigger than the car in the garage that it's parked beside - hahaha!
    Thanx for sharin' buddy!

      Glad you enjoyed the video Q. I wonder if they designed the frame with the tracks in mind, or it just worked out that way ?? I agree, my bike is HUGE now. It's gonna be real interesting the first few rides to see just how it is & how it handles.
      And THANKS for watching the video to My Friend !!

      @@GunnyE9 Hello, Do you have a video on removing the tracks and installing the tires?

    • @GunnyE9
      @GunnyE9  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey @@bencreske2560 Guy, sorry, but I've never made a video of taking the tracks off & reinstalling the tires. But basically, you just unbolt the tracks from the hubs & remove the A-arm brackets at the front. Now when it comes to the rear brackets, are you talking about these tracks, The Apache Backcountry Tracks or the some other track system ??
      If you are talking about the Backcountry Tracks, I would first remove the long anti-rotation rods. Next, I would unbolt & remove the rear track form the bikes hub. Next, I would remove the 4 nylon nuts & the U-bolts holding the anti-rotation rod bracket to the frame on each side. Next, I would remove the bolt from each side, which bolts into the bracket inside the frame tube at the top. I would then remove each ant-rotation bracket. I would leave the bracket inside the frame tube & reinstall the bolt into the ends.
      After that, I believe you could reinstall your tires. I still have my tracks on right now, so I'm going from memory of how I installed everything.
      I hope this helps and THANKS for check'in out the video, I greatly appreciate it.

    Looks like yer ready to go my Utah friend. Now, if only it would snow. We got a bit up in the mountains, but not nearly enough yet. It's one of the driest winters on record so far. Hope it changes! Merry Christmas!

      Yup, I is way more than ready ... PRAY FOR SNOW !!! I will say, this isn't the first year I haven't done any tracking until after Christmas due to not having enough snow. So for me, I'm not surprised.

    WOOHOO! Those tracks look mean Gunny! You did a nice job on the skid plates and the fender flares. How did you bend them? Did you have to heat them up? Those mounting brackets look quite a bit different than the old ones aren't they? Pretty heavy duty looking. There's only one major problem I see with this video Gunny... No Snow! HAHAHAHAHAHA LOL Maybe Santa will bring you some for Christmas if you've been a good boy. Thanks for the video!

    • @GunnyE9
      @GunnyE9  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes they do ... Mean & BIG !! WOO HOO !!! You should see it in the garage ... I mean, it just seems so ... HUGE !!!
      Thanks, glad you liked the skid plates & fender flares. Yes, I would clamp the material I used to my little welding table, heat it with a torch (& propane cylinder) & then bend whatever I was making to how I need it. Same with the fenders, I'd heat them up, bend with my hands & check the fit. I think most of it turned out pretty good. But I have to come up with an easier way to attach the frame snow guards.
      The mounting brackets (the rear ones) are way different than the Tatou ones. I like these a lot. I agree, it all seems pretty heavy duty & well built. I finished the idler wheel & ice scratchers installs today, so I'm ready ... if I ever get any snow. They say tonight & this weekend we are suppose to get some. We'll see.
      Glad you enjoyed the video My Northern Friend & THANKS for watch'in it too !!

    Looks great! How did the fender flares work out for you? Did they help keep some of that snow away from you and the ATV? What did you make them out of?

    • @GunnyE9
      @GunnyE9  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Farbrorplopp Guy ... the fenders flares work pretty dang good. I've ridden with them & without them & I much prefer to ride with them because they really keep a lot of the snow off of me. Of course, if the snow is real dry & powdery or the wind is blowing, I still get covered pretty good. Partly because the rear portion of the front tracks are almost straight up & down (because of the height of the tracks) & the 2 inch paddles really pick up the snow. If you happen to watch some of my other video's where I'm out riding, you'll see what I mean. I believe the fender flare material is a polymer material used for mud flaps on semi trucks. But I'm not really sure, a friend gave it to me. I had to heat it to form them & once cooled, it retains the shape. They are pretty sturdy too because I've hit a few trees with them & they just slide off of them.
      Again, glad you enjoyed the video and THANKS for check'in it out. Much appreciated !!

      @@GunnyE9 Thanks for the reply! I have the Can Am Outlander 570 L with Apache 360 tracks and they also throw a lot of snow. I have ordered the Can am fender flares now but they will not be enough I guess. I think I have to make some extensions. Problem I have is that the snow comes from the front and throws it in my face. And no fender flares will help with that I think. Once again great videos!

    • @GunnyE9
      @GunnyE9  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, even the Tatou 4S tracks I had would throw snow. The Can-Am fender flares will help some. Maybe you can fab some kind of flare to extend forward to cut down on the snow being thrown forward & them coming back into your face. Trust me thou, I have that problem and that's one reason I bought the BRP BV2S helmet. It fully covers my face & protects it from the snow spray. HOWEVER, sometimes, it's so cold I have to crack the face shield & then the snow will then get inside the helmet & as you can guess, that's not good.

    Hey Gunny
    With the track module do you still have the option on the dps to select the 3 different steering modes? On mine all I get is the star showing on my cluster.

    • @GunnyE9
      @GunnyE9  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Derek, yes, I have the options for 3 different steering modes, actually 4. When I start the bike, "DPS Min" appears, I depress & hold the "Override" button for a few seconds, then "Track Min" appears, I release the button & quickly depress it again & "Track Med" appears", I again release the button & again quickly depress the button a 3rd time & "Track Max" appears. That's the mode I track in all the time.
      Hope that helps you out. Thanks for check'in out the video Derek Guy & for subbing to my channel too. I greatly appreciate it !!

    so four years now and what is your impression of the tracks? any regrets? tips or tricks? Recommendations? how did they hold up? have they failed on you at all? what type of usage do you use them for?

    • @GunnyE9
      @GunnyE9  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Josh Guy, Love the tracks. Nope, no regrets ... other than I can go riding as much as I would like. Recommendations? ... Buy a set & have a blast!! And run a Worlds Best Badass Belt. Some people don't like them because they say they make you lose some rpms ... but I love the belts. No failures so far in two years.
      Nope, no failures of any kind yet. They've actually been outstanding & saved me some digging for sure. I use them for snow only, just like a snowmobile because of the slides. I go exploring as much as I can looking for new country & untracked snow. Not so much this season as I just had back surgery a few months ago so I'm taking it easy this season.
      Glad you enjoyed the video Josh & THANKS for check'in it out too!!

    They need to come up with some kinda antirotation rod for the front cuz mine has spun over 5 times and ripped shit apart it sucks if they get caught on anything or you put to much tension on the front it will spin right around and break

    • @GunnyE9
      @GunnyE9  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      WOW ... that would suck .... which I'm sure it does when you've had to deal with it 5 times. However, I'm a little confused about the anti-rotation rod comment. On the set I have it has anti-rotation rods almost identical to what my Tatou 4S tracks have. I will also agree thou, that if a guy gets the front tracks caught on anything, that yeah, I'm sure it would do some damage. When you say, "To Much Tension On The Front" ... are you referring to the tracks themselves, the anti-rotation rod adjustment, or when you happen to get the track caught on something ??
      If you go to the 5:31 minute mark of this vehicle, you setup your front anti-rotation rods like in the video, correct ??
      But, getting back to your comment, I guess I've been lucky because I've had no issues with the Backcountry Tracks thru 3 seasons of use. But I only average between 500 and 800 miles a season, so maybe I just need more time on mine.
      I hope you have better luck in the future riding on your Backcountry Tracks Andrew. I also appreciate you checking out the video.

      @@GunnyE9 yes I installed it like it is supposed to be but it drips the bolt right out I am hard on the tracks tho it always happens when I am climbing over something or breaking through ice and the front track gets caught under the ice .. yes tension I mean when there is a lot of stress on tracks to rotate instead of spin ... as long as I am just on fresh powder or packed trail its fine

    • @GunnyE9
      @GunnyE9  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup, climbing over stuff, be it rocks or down trees, & getting the front tracks under a log or under ice, that will be really tough on the tracks. And, years ago I did do both of things with the Tatou 4S tracks. I cut & broke & sawed my way out those situations before I broke anything, however, the guy I use to track with broke his fronts several times. He would use his throttle instead of a shovel or axe or a saw.
      And, the last few years I tend to stay in fresh snow ... but man I hate those hidden rocks or logs or tree stumps ... they tend to jar the heck out of guy let alone make him stop & give everything the once over.
      I hope you have some better luck while out tracking ... Pray For Snow !!!
