In the 1990s, when I was around 11, I learned the antiquing paper technique from my 5th-grade teacher. Naturally, I tried it and burned my hands badly. Next time, I would suggest you try the coffee ground method. Strangely, you can also use bronzer and mascara. Stay safe!

Burnt paper with ink instead of fire: tear edges of paper and use a brown ink pad to dye the edges. Works great and you won’t burn your house down.
