    Don't think for 1 minute I'm slating this . But many years ago I had a pug 205 van that I put a 1.9tdi in , I turned the fuel up and boost .. and my God that van was angry the torque steer in 1st to 3rd was immense! If only it was that easy now a days. .

    Hi mate, sorry to chime in late but I was wondering if you had the time to answer a few questions. I'm considering one of these as next car. To clarify I'll be coming from a 1.2 corsa c sxi petrol. What are they like handling standard? I'm tired of driving a boat. With a standard torque output almost double what ive got will I notice a huge difference and after remap? I would intend to modify it with a remap, probably a full exhaust of some sort and air filter of some sort. Will it handle much better with springs and tyres? Are they reliable? I've had more problems with my first car than 4 motorbikes... I'm 23 as well so hoping insurance won't rape me with 1 years no claims. Are they comfortable too? And rough rough mpg? I can get 50mpg in mine if I change before 3k and lastly does it have a dpf and egr? I have heard problems with people and dpfs I currently do 200+ miles a week but that could become potentially half with a new job... Thanks ever so much in advance.

      mark199suzuki Not a problem Mark. I'd be glad to clear some things up for you of course in my own personal experience with this vehicle. I'll start with the handling. Handling wise (stock) They're not too bad, smooth and tight responsiveness. However, it was in the higher speeds around curvy bend etc I found it did tend to lean often finding myself having to slow down to take the bend easier. I would recommend some lowering springs and spacers for the rears if you want that gripping/flat feeling with barely any body roll around the corners. This doesn't need to be too low, a subtle 35mm drop would make more than a noticeable difference. But as I say, the handling isn't terrible. But from stock, there's definitely room for improvement. Regarding a remap, I would emphasise this as being one of the best alterations you could do to this car. With the stock turbo & intercooler present. You're looking at about a 30% power increase which equates to around 25 - 30hp gain. Plus all the torque benefits from a diesel. I had mine remapped from stock (93.8hp) (167.6. lb.ft tq) to (117.1hp) (195.6. lb.ft tq). It's definitely very ideal to have this done. Changed the whole behaviour of the car throughout the whole rev range. These cars are more ideal to have a remap than a petrol for example without a turbo. The 2.0 Petrol ST would benefit about 7 - 8hp from a remap if you're lucky. In terms of power upgrades, a remap is the easiest and one of the most effective ways of tuning the 1.6TDCI. Exhaust wise, I currently have a full milltek system with downpipe & decat. But there are a few alternatives. Usually a custom exhaust fabricator could build a system for it with a custom decat & straight pipe etc. Give it more of a bark with the two. Air filter wise, unless you want to custom build your own. I will put the link here for the only full kit on the market for this car. Sound very good with a nice dump sound on gear changes. (As you can hear in some of my videos) Link: www.nbstyling.co.uk/store/?pID=24
      Reliability is excellent i'd say. Providing you take care of it, keep up to date with oil changes, check the injector seals from time to time, invest in an oil catch tank to prevent oil build up in the intake. You also want to blank the EGR valve off with a plate. These are about £3 online. Would stop the carbon build up which can usually kill diesels. Also reduces some of the turbo lag in the low end revs. For £3 or so, it's doing a lot. But to sum it up, reliability providing you take care of it, these engines are pretty much bulletproof. I've seen these tuned at 200hp 300.lb.ft tq. Taken care of, good for 150,000 miles+. And to clarify, these do not have DPF's but do have an EGR. But as I say, the EGR can be blanked with a blanking plate which I can provide the link for you if you need. For how cheap they are, sort of the first thing to do really.
      Insurance wise, it's not too bad. Wouldn't be as much as a 2.0l ST or anything obvious for it's (go fast) appeal. Just shop around, pretty reasonable on insurance i'd say.
      MPG wise, it varies. I tend to drive quite harsh and get about 50mpg around town and 55mpg on motorways/long journeys. But i've seen some get 65 - 70mpg. Really depends on driving style. Obviously things like keeping tyres inflated and blanking the EGR can affect the MPG. Keep the tyres pumped and blank that EGR! haha.
      I hope i've answered your questions adequately, if you want anymore info, just comment/message. To round it up, these are great cars with very strong engines & reliability providing you take care of it and don't neglect it.
      :)

      1.6TDCITuning sorry, actually have one more question. Don't know how much of a die hard fan of these cars you are lol but, if you had to give a couple of comparable cars what would they be? I very much like these cars but would like to keep my options open, same sort of age, power/torque decent handling(with suspension mods if necessary) and engine size. A sport model if you like.

      mark199suzuki Truth be told, i'm 20 years old and this my 2nd Fiesta ZS TDCI haha. My first one was exactly the same but unmodified. (I'm sorry to say it got written off) xD So I can't compare it from my own experience to another vehicle. Although it sort of depends what you want. This is good for easy to fetch power with the economy benefits. There are certainly faster cars than this stock if that's what you're after with similar engine size. This being a turbo diesel, it's more about the economy and mileage from stock. I wish I could give you some comparisons but i've only driven other vehicles, not owned and lived with etc.

      No, the EML doesn't trigger when you install an EGR blanking plate on these. No hole required.

    Would the injectors from the 1.8 115bp do the same job? Considered an upgrade to that turbo also? Would it work?

    • @1.6tdcituning10
      @1.6tdcituning10  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +ObiJewJehovie I don't believe so, as far as I'm aware, the only injectors that work as an upgrade are 0445110188 or 0445110259 These are the code/model numbers of the upgraded injectors that will fit. As for the turbo, it would work, but it's a different engine so you would have to get a custom turbo manifold adapter for it to fit and a custom downpipe. It's not worth the hassle in my opinion, if you're prepared to go to that bit extra work, you might as well go simply larger. I know someone who's running a 3.0L Audi turbo on this engine, with a custom manifold bracket and downpipe etc. Running around 240hp. For simplicity, I'd go for the Focus GT1544v turbo (110), it's from the same engine and bolts straight on. And if hybridise it, you can see 170bhp+. Hope this helps.

    +1.6TDCITuning Hi, I'm thinking of getting a 1.6 fiesta diesel for a daily driver, do you know any performance figure differences your setup has compared to standard, obviously I know your setup will be better, but I'm curious to how much better? Thanks!

    • @1.6tdcituning10
      @1.6tdcituning10  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** Stock figures are 90bhp and 150 lb-ft tq. Currently, mine is around 132 - 135bhp and 220 lb-ft tq from an educated guess with the current setup. My last dyno run was with a remap from stock which was 117.1bhp and 197.7 lb-ft tq. All that's next in terms of more power is a 6 paddle clutch, 3 bar map sensor and a Focus 110 Hybrid turbo which should see about 175bhp and 300 lb-ft tq going by other figures from other tuners I've seen. There's various routes you can take regarding the tuning. But as it stands, mine has about 50% more power output than stock. But with nitrous, these engines have seen over 200bhp. So over a 100% power increase is possible haha. 👍

      1.6TDCITuning Impressive numbers mate! and thanks for your information.
      I've subscribed as I hope you'll be making videos of that hybrid turbo setup!
      Not sure if you've already tried, but what are the actual/ predicted 0-60 times for your setup compared to standard. I may be wrong but from what I've looked into, the 0-60 time for standard is around 11.5 seconds?
      Thanks

      @1.6tdcituning10  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** Thanks man. Hope to have helped. I have more videos on my channel too. And i've never recorded my 0 - 60 haha. My stock clutch wouldn't like that ;) I will post a 0 - 60 in the future. But I would guess around 8 - 9 seconds. Yes stock is 11.5.

      ***** The 1.6TDCI is the best all rounder I'd say out of the MK6's. Not just because I own one, but very cheap to run economy wise and easy to tune. Capable of figures outmatching the 2.0 150bhp. Petrol ST MK6.

      Its the same as the mk6, if you have a 95ps mk7, you put in mk3 focus 1.6 tdci 115hp injectors and get a remap, should see around 125hp

    • @1.6tdcituning10

      This will soon be running around 190 brake of which I will be posted the dyno run. And it's a diesel, it's more about the torque. Which I expect 280 - 300lb.ft. It will be very fun... just not in the wet.

    • @cwuzii
      @cwuzii 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The MK4's are rot boxes now. Who wants a car that needs welding every year or two in order to pass an MOT, not to mention insurance increase on a older car and the fact that they're 2litre diesel's insurance will only touch you up to 1.9 on diesel's and 1.6 on petrol engines if you're a young driver.

    hi is it different to stock 90bhp ? did you have done at rs tuning?

    • @1.6tdcituning10
      @1.6tdcituning10  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +patrico luciano It's approximately 130 - 135bhp currently. Just finalising the bits I need before I get everything mapped in. Will be a stage 2 GT1544v Hybrid which should see around 180bhp and 300 lb/ft torque. My first remap was done at AMD Tuning Essex. But I will be heading to RS Tuning soon to get the final map done.

    • @P44TKO
      @P44TKO 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +1.6TDCITuning that would be good for me to get at least 130 but how much is it ?

    • @1.6tdcituning10
      @1.6tdcituning10  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +patrico luciano To reach 130, you would need Focus 110 injectors as the stock fuel injectors won't push past 125bhp due to the flow rate. A set of these would be £150 - £250. Your best bet is to grab a set from a breaking/scrapping Focus 1.6TDCI. That's all you need you really to hit 130bhp. The other modifications are preparation/supporting mods for upgrading to a bigger turbo. Just watch the clutch at this power however, it will soon start to slip due to the extra torque. So keep an eye on it, but you'll inevitably need an uprated one at some point for the long run.
