Love the life and death for the 20-30K game. It is irrelevant if they can read it out. Mistakes are made at all levels and I deeply appreciate seeing the definitive solution to this problem.
Hi, i am new to this wonderfull game. Got stuned with the second example. I wish one day i develop the hability to read in this way. Grats on you video.
problem with most tutorial videos is that they forget the word "beginner"! many things they say is a question mark for beginners. "because white/black can do this and that" Why they are doing that, to begin with??
Problem 1: yay I read the first problem almost right but I played d2 second instead of third. for some reason when I was reading a2 as the second move forgot to check d1 as a third move. a2 was my candidate for the second move but I misread and I thought it didnt work. next I read b2 as the second move and saw that didn't work. next I tried c1 as the second move and saw that didnt work. next was c2 and it didn't work. Then I read d2 as a second move and thought it worked. it seems if I switch the order of d1 and a2 it still kills white. Can this sequence work for blacks moves a4> d1>a2? Problem 2: Took me about 20 minutes but I thought I read it out, but missed the part where white gets the four stones I didn't read that part because white was taking his own liberties. I read the connecting stones back and saw it didn't work for white. after I saw the take blacks four stones move I noticed it still only has two liberties. Luckily I would have played the right move in game. Darn , so close to reading it all the way out but no cigar. problem #3: i was looking at the board and I thought the moves would be black plays h15, white h14, black cut with I14, then it seems I can kill 3 or 4 white stones because if white plays g15 then it is just cut, if white plays h16 to get the stone , black plays f115. I am probably misreading though lol. When I started to video I was surprised to see the problem is on the topside :). Problem 4 : Oops I thought it was Black I2, but if white just extends then I connect I only have 3 liberties! should have noticed I would lose the capturing race :) Problem 5: my instinct was to play b1, I could not read all the variations but the ones I looked at seemed like it was working. I made up my mind that I would play there and started the video. During my reading I picked the wedge as the second move but I misread it and thought it didnt work so I decided to play a1. so all in all i would have let the white group live , oops. Thank you for the video it was fun.
Would you please play an online game against dwyrin (who also creates go videos on youtube) and review it afterwards so people can see both players' perspective on the game?
Mmh, so i found none of the moves. I know i'm bad and life and death, but i didn't know i was that bad. I'm _cough_ 6k (OGS) _cough_ . Didn't know this channel. Nice vid.
wtf is that first problem 30-20 kyu? there is probably a higher probability that the univers spontaniously colapses into a blackhole than a 20-30 kyu player making that black group life lol

Wow, nice examples, thanks for the videos 😀
Great video!
as a amateur 5dan ,i think these examples are a little difficult for beginner ,if you can't do these, don't be discouraged
