I haven’t wore mine in years ( still fit somehow ) might be that I haven’t worn them in forever but my ankles hurt whenever I walk in them. Do any of you know why?
What is the recommended lacing technique for an aching arch which is quite flat? The foot navicular gets swollen maybe its a rubbing problem? Though I dont feel a rubbing pain in the boots at that area. Shall I try window lacing or rather to lock my ankle?
I can't get the surgeon knot to work, it's just like it does the opposite thing. Because there more friction as the laces are wound around each other it prevents me from being able to tighten them as much as if they were just normal. It makes my heel lift more. I'm open to any advice or info
Why is this only a temporary solution when your feet start hurting during the hike? Would it be a problem to just use these techniques consistently and in a preventative way? Sure, maybe another pair of shoes might work without it but what if your current shoes work perfectly fine with one or multiple of these techniques?
Check your posture and feet alignment of your all body. What a lot of people overlook is the poposture if the feet and legs itself. If in the wrong position, they can cause pain and discomfort and even damagae.

Use the Surgeon's knot on the top eyelet as well. 99% security throughout your hike.
Was this close to shit-canning my ‘68 Jungle Boots til I found out about this window lacing trick
Thanks!
You're welcome!
What type of boots are those?
Lowa Renegade
Has anyone tried combining window lacing with a surgeon's knot?
