Thank you so much for this video! I had a piece of paper stuck in the fuser unit and this helped me remove that assembly to carefully remove the paper without damaging the rollers!
I had the exact same issue, and this video was my savior!

Thank you for the video ! It's great to have explanations on the reasons for paper jamming in this area... I will be more carefull with the cartridge I get now !
Thank you so much! My printer is still under warranty, but the repair center near me doesn’t provide on-site service, so I have to take the whole printer there. Since I use third-party toner, I decided to buy the parts and repair it myself. Your video helped me a lot :)!!
thanks much for the great video! just changed my fuser without an issue -- and i have trouble hanging a picture correctly! tho no peacock on my desk! thanks again!! cheers!!
thanks a ton for this video. im from bangalore, India, just got the 3560cdw a month back, vinyl sticker media got stuck to the roller and fuser and wouldnt come out. your video helped me get it off.. cheers
@@TerryJonesPrinterRepairs Sorry, I ended up replacing the entire fuser unit - the full repair replacing the rollers looked too daunting and both of mine had some damage.
Awesome, awesome, awesome, awesome! Thank-you so much for the clear and concise video. I was able to repair my fuser in my MFC-L3770cdw in less than 30 minutes!
Thank you for that video. I had to do that disassembly to get a massive paper jam out of my HL-L3270CDW's fuser. I'm not sure I would have figured out the disassembly without it.
@@TerryJonesPrinterRepairsI noted your comments regarding that issue in your video. Fortunately, after clearing the jam, the printer is now performing flawlessly as it has since I bought it more than a year ago.
@@TerryJonesPrinterRepairs If you are willing to name the third-party brands of toner cartridges that are troublesome it would be a big help. About 1/3 of those cartridges aren't even recognized by my printer, so I throw them away and get a refund.
Great video. I followed it but when I was putting the fuser cover back on one of the paper guides broke. Can I please buy just a fuser cover and try it again?
Great video, very informative. I was cruising along and everything was going great until I tried to plug in the large white cord. The connectors are different! I guess I'll just replace the rollers, not sure where to look for that video
Hello Terry, I have a Brother HL-L3270cdw that is printing a perfect vertical white line just left of the center of the paper (magenta only). I have checked and cleaned all four of the original Brother toner colors, as well as the fuser roller to no avail.
thanks for this post. great info. quick one, do you think it is a fuser replacement if my MFC3750 is making bad noises during printing and the paper is coming out with some creases? I am yet to check how many prints it has done and also I only use genuine ink ?? Thanks,
Thank you for this! I had a real bad jam in a L3210. Its all back together and it is telling me self diagnostic will restart in 15 minutes. I pray that's expected :) I would have never been able to take the fuser out without your help. Edit......well heck.....I am getting "print unable 05" and to power off and on and it repeats. Oh well......guess I will be buying a new printer. Thank you for this video thoiugh.....it is well made......
Print unable 05 error means you have damaged the sockets on the right hand circuit board that the temperature sensors plug into. You will need to remove the circuit board and solder the connections underneath
@@TerryJonesPrinterRepairs Thanks! I am just going to buy a new one. I tested the thermal breaker and did not get continuity. The jam was huge. I am guessing the heat build up did it in. They are only 249 now on Amazon and $49 for 4 year warranty. I do appreciate your help though!
@@BillCClinton oh right if the temperature fuse is open-circuit then you'd haven't damaged the sockets on the little right hand circuit board. All you have to do is reset the thermo fuse. Pull the fuser unit back out and it is on top of the fuser unit held in with two screws. All you have to do is flick the grey metal disk on top of the thermal fuse and it will reset the fuse to continuity. Put it all back together let it do the 15-minute cycle and then you should find you will have a working printer again
@@TerryJonesPrinterRepairs Hi Terry. Do you have a video on how to do this? I also have the Print unable 05 error and would love to be able to repair the printer myself. Thanks for this video by the way! Excellent step-by-step instructions :).
@@TerryJonesPrinterRepairs Hi Terry. I took out the temperature fuse but didn't see a grey metal disk. There was only a metal "lid" with holes around the outside, and big hole in the middle with a black rubbery looking thing in it. I have an MFC L3770. There was no continuity across the temp fuse - how should I fix this? Thanks.
Hi Terry, how do you remove the double-sided rollers to check if is dislodged as it make noise when boot up and doesn't rotate for double side - thanks - Roger
This video saved me! I replaced the fuser, it is working BUT the notification still says replace fuser. It is a Brother mfc-l3770cdw. Any ideas on why ir how ro clear that?
Yes, contact the people you gave your money to for the fuser. The profit they made selling you the part makes them responsible for the successful installation including programming the printer to accept the part. If they don't accept liability then tell them to pick the part up and give the money back as the part does not completely 100% work. I won't be helping you with your problem because you didn't buy it from me.
Pretty Cool. I found video by Peter Long about Brother 3170 CDW fuser rollers. I was successful dismantling, replacing both rollers and reassembling. My problem now is I'm getting Print Unable 05, along with "Self-Diagnostic will automatically restart within 15 minutes". Any thoughts what I may have done wrong? Peter says you are the expert and I should ask you! Thanks.
I was not as careful with the temperature sensing contacts as you talk about in this video. Wondering if I broke the solder and that's whay I'm getting the error. I read somewhere the error has do do with not being able to detect satisfactory fuser temperature. What is the fix?!
If you now have error codes Then you weren't successful dismantling it and putting it back together after following his video. Yes I am the expert but what peter doesn't understand is that you get 1 chance at getting this right, when you make a video "because you think you can do better" you take on all the responsibility that goes with it, fobbing people off to me when things get hard and your out of your depth is not acceptable. He is taking views away from my videos as people are watching his 1st then they are coming to my videos after breaking there printers looking for answers. I make these videos "for business" not "for fun" Both Peter, Paolo Marcelli and ProfessorOzone have robbed me and my family of approx $20kAUD in Income and left a worldwide trail of destruction of broken not working properly printers because they are actually helping with the promotion of Not Properly Working Counterfeit fuser rollers. Even Paolo at the end of his video skips over the fact his printer after the repair is now displaying overheating messages because he used counterfeit ebay rollers that he describes as "really good". Let me guess you got your rollers from Ebay.
Hi Terry, love the intro to the video, now I want to get a pet peacock! I've got a 3770CDW and it is printing black vertical streaks on the left hand side of the page. I have tried replacing the toner cartridges, sliding the corona wire and cleaning the drum unit with a swap & isopropyl alcohol. But the issue still remains. What should I do next? Cheers
Thanks for sharing this video. I have a question if you could help me with please. My printer is (HL-L3230cdw), but it recently started making these noises and then i realized the the two grey rollers on the back side have stopped turning and they wont allow the paper to spin and roll forward. That's why when the back door is shut, paper gets stuck as it can't come out from the front side. Can you let me know how I could fix it please? Thanks
The two rollers have there own motor driving it could be blown. Or the gears that drive the rollers could be stuck from dirt or cockroach poo getting stuck in the gear teeth. Grab the rollers and manually turn them back and forth for several seconds or a minute.
I challenge you to look at the direct equivalent from Hewlett-Packard. The engineer's will deliberately designed the machine to have one screw sandwiched between multiple layers of circuit boards and steel and you cannot successfully repair the machine for one of the common repairs without getting to that hidden screw this adds an extra unnecessary 2 hours to a repair job that isn't beastly that's just being pricks
@@TerryJonesPrinterRepairs LOL, that's quite a comparison! And, BTW, with the help of your excellent instruction, I DID just now partly disassemble the back of the Brother printer and unjam a narrow paper strip caught against the fuser, reassembled and printed a page

Paper jam in the fuser unit can be a sign that the toner cartridges you're using are non genuine and very poor quality toner powder loaded in them

clean the led printhead for the magenta section with a rag and turps. Check your magenta toner has complete toner coverage over its dev roller.
