New to your channel for a few weeks now, and love it so far. I have the og RIP, nevet listend to the remix and I probably never will. Don't like all the stuff you show (I love Heavy, Speed, Trash metal and Europeian DM) but I love your passion! Badass!
Thank you very much. Yea, the remix if RIP is an abomination compared to the OG haha. I love the old school sound. Haevy, Speed, Thrash and DM are my favorite but I do listen to a little bit of everything outside that circle. Thank you for watching!
The metal equivalent of opening a long buried time capsule. Happened me around twenty years ago when I couldn't locate any of my Darkthrone or Satyricon CDs. All originals at that. Thought they had been unintentionally discarded until they were located later on that year when the Yuletide decorations were being taken out. They got packed away accidentally in the same box as the reindeer and snowman by my niece who genuinely thought the smaller box in which they were stored formed part of what was to be put away in the attic for another year. To say I had an even happier festive season as a result is an understatement. Cool update as always and have a happy and memorable 2023. \m/
Very nice, yea I'm not sure how these got separated from the bulk of my collection. The box they was located in basically has I bunch of nick-nacks and misc. Stuff that was in our old living room. But the box has my wife's hand writing on the lid.. hahaha. Great story you shared. I would have been happy to find missing Darkthrone and Satyricon as well. Last year I found an old show box in my parents attic full of my old cassettes, a bunch glam metal and a couple if classic rock tapes. Anyway, have a prosperous new year in 2023!
Always nice to hear Emperor first thing! I seem to remember Cataract and liking them way back in the day. Man, that is so cool you found these old albums! Definitely a lot of classics in there. Great vid, keep it up!
Nice coming across those. Totally agree with you on the Cataract album and that Shadow Fall album think I have around 4 of their albums that one is to my recollection is my favourite that I own. That Wretched album is great I have that one somewhere pretty sure I bought another album from them after listening to that one. Devourment are killer I hope to pick up their first album at some point. 🤘🏻
Lucky you! I've lost quite a number of CD's over the years that I'd absolutely love to just suddenly turn up, and there's some gems in there, too! I used to love Shadows Fall, still a very good band, but I haven't listened to them in quite a long time. I wouldn't class them as Metalcore at all, but I know a lot of the media did back in the 00's. As for Cataract, I have to say they do sound like Metalcore to me, but not bad by any means. That Wretched album sounds awesome, I'll have to do some research! Cheers! 🤘
That OG Rust In Peace mix is far superior to the 2004 remix for me, glad I kept all my original CD's and didn't bother with the updated versions. Excellent you discovered all those old CD's after them being missing for so long. The guitar tone on that Cataract album is beastly. Cheers as always Steve
I agree! That Cataract album sounds huge.. very good production. The guitars sound as big as Entombed Left hand path or At The Gates Slaughter of the Soul.
This is cool. Always fun to find lost albums. And a lot of great ones you have found. Rust In Peace is the only album I really like with Megadeth. Never heard Wretched before. Enjoy you rediscovered cd's. Cheers.
Fuckin Right Man... Glad to see the poster of GUTTED-Bleed for Us to Live on the wall... Let there be a " Flood of Blood" for humanity ...LOL Cheers from Canada \m/ \m/
Hey Steve! Wow that's incredible you just found them in a bag and completely forgot about them. I only know the remastered version of Rust in peace. Souls of black is great, I think it's underrated. Dark roots is also brilliant. Relentless retribution by Death Angel is fantastic, I love claws in so deep. Blood in blood out is one of my favourite Exodus albums, it's great. Only thing is it they repeat a lot of the same riff too many times. Brave New world I like too! I've wanted to check out Shadows Fall, they sound pretty damn good. You know the guitarist is in Anthrax now. Cataract, Throwdown and Wretched sound great, I've added those to my list! Another great video mate! 😀🤘
Thank you Josh. I think what needs to grew about this Exodus album is the vocals...it's sounds like ACDC vocals. But other than that it is great. The remastered version of RIP is good but I love the old school sound of the OG mix. It is fantastic that I found this bag.. I was so stoked about it and it also crossed stuff on my want list hahaha. Thanks for watching!
@@stevesekora welcome mate! Haha ok man, yeah Souza's vocals are marmite. I didn't like them at first but now I can tolerate them. Ah ok, I need to try and find the OG and give it a listen. Yeah man it's really great you found this. And they're all in working order too which is fantastic! I'm glad you found these. Haha that's also a good thing, you don't need to buy them again! You're welcome mate 😊🤘
I bought S.O.D. on tape when it was firsr released, great album. I've always been a fan of Megadeth, Testament, and Exodus since my youthful days back in the 80's. First time hearing Cataract and yes, I definitely hear Bolt Thrower in there, I'm going to look for it on ebay, good shit. If you like Bolt Thrower, check out "Frozen Soul" outta Texas, they're killer man!! Now that particular Shadows Fall sample did have parts that totally sounded like metalcore to me but that first part of the song sounded more like death metal. I have a Shadows Fall double cd digipack that was in a cd lot I picked up from a friend and I never really got into them. I mean, I used to dig metalcore back in the early 2000's with bands like Bleeding Through and Atrayu but they're probably the only bands I'd still listen to from that genre, just my opinion but hey, it's still a free country so each to their own. Cool vid man, stumbled upon it due to the fact that I'm confined to my house for 10 days because I got covid & influenza A at the same time...thank god for paid time off and the internet lol 🤘🏻 Subbed
Thank you. Get well soon man,.. I'll check out Frozen Soul. And after further listening to that Shadows Fall I agree with you about it being metalcore especially the 2nd half of album. I think back when i first bought this album i was excited for the heavy riffing and aggressive vocals that we was not getting from Metallica and Megadeth and other thrash bands at the time. Bleeding Through I still listen to especially their Declaration album.. it rips! I have that S.O.D. on tape as well but bought it new in 88' so it's most likely a 2nd pressing. Thank you for watching and subbing.
@@stevesekora Hey thanks, 2nd time with covid lol. Anyway, I bought my copy of S.O.D. in '88 too, I always thought it was a first pressing, it's not? Damn, I wish I still had it. I also bought Celtic Frost "Morbid Tales/Emperor's Return" on tape the same year and that's gone too but I replaced it about a year ago with a tape I got online for wayyy too much. I think I paid just under $40 for it and discovered it was a repress from something like 1990 after it arrived. Still cool I own it again though.
@@devildozer yea. That S.O.D. album was released in 85' so unless it didn't sell well it's most likely a 2nd pressing. That's why I think mine is 2nd but I can be totally wrong. But having a copy that was ripped closer to the source tape would be rad! I had covid only once and I don't want that bug again. Worst headache I've ever had cones with that bug.

Yea, Shadows Fall and Wretched are ok but not something I'll listen to alot. I remember buying the Shadows Fall CD just for the Pink Floyd cover they do. The Wretched CD due to the album cover looking like what a thrash band would use so I think I thought it would be thrash before I heard it haha
I have that Iron Maiden album. Along with Number of the Beast. I needs to get several CDs back into my collection. Mind you, a lot of it is Hip Hop, RnB, Pop. Some Metalcore, and other styles within metal. The last thing I got was Beyonce's new album in that shitty digisleeve. Luckily I had an empty jewel case. So I took the booklet out (which doesn't entirely fit) and the disc. Fuck digisleeves.
I despise digisleeves.. I always feel like I will scratch up the CD pulling them out. I just did a video on Digipacks and showed one digisleeve in that collection. I listen to a bit of everything as well.

Souls of Black is my favorite Testament album and Megadeth's Rust in Piece is a masterpiece. 1990 was a great year for metal releases.
