Ash_Studios I am in the same situation only that my parents live in the same us state. They divorced when I was 3 and it has been going from one place to the other ever since. I really suggest doing what you think is right for you. Grades are important especially in the future. But I won’t judge. Just make the decision that seems right.

I’m in the EXACT same position as you right now but I’m 15. The best you can do is get your father on the speaker phone and both you and your dad talk to your mom as to why it’s best to stay there but if she doesn’t agree then I suggest your father to take legal actions and get a lawyer and take it to court. You could probably even win the case if you tell the judge or whoever is gonna make the decision as to why you wanna be with your dad and tell them what’s wrong about your mother.
Hi my parents have split custody and the state I live in says when your 14 you are able to choose who you live with. I want to live with my dad instead of split custody. My dad tried to get custody of me and my siblings and my older sister manipulated me into not “hurting” my mom. in my country you can't really decide who get custody of you but you as a child of 12-13 have the right to chose where you wanna stay. *If you force someone to be anywhere against their will then it's holding them captive, and thus against the law* i got to live with my dad while in custody battle because i was really loud and vocal about wanting to be with my dad and not with that woman others call my mother. even thou she had full custody at one point. she even abducted me from school once (Dad literary rescued me) because neither she or dad was allowed at school so i could relax and focus on my studies in peace. After that day until my 18th birthday i was terrified she would get to me and dad had to pretty much helicopter me so it wouldn't happen again. Children should have more say in it because it's the children who has to survive and endure the worst burnt of everything.

What is described here is more confirmation to me that judges have way too much power over the parents. It tells me that the State believes it has the ultimate authority over our children, not We The People. We The Parents need to start demanding that our authority be respected in these court rooms. Numerous decisions have been made at the Supreme Court level affirming that parental rights are both a "Liberty" right, and a "Privacy" right. Learn your rights. Your "family" law atty will not tell you what they are. Ultimately, their loyalty is to the court system, not you.

Not true.. my bestfriend just lost her 2 children to the father , he bribed them telling them what they were going to get if they stay with him and the kids chose dad, and he filed for child support right after he received custody, the father is in deep debt and needs money badly and the judge gave him custody, not the best interest of the children but the best interest of the father in this case..

Quincy Charles hi I had kinda the same thing , I am moving in 9 days to my dads house I talked a lot with school Counsellors and my dad trying to plan it out . You should be able to move but if your mom has sole custody it will be a bit harder to do.I recommend talking to a social worker to check if there’s any files on your parents

What is described here is more confirmation to me that judges have way too much power over the parents. It tells me that the State believes it has the ultimate authority over our children, not We The People. We The Parents need to start demanding that our authority be respected in these court rooms. Numerous decisions have been made at the Supreme Court level affirming that parental rights are both a "Liberty" right, and a "Privacy" right. Learn your rights.
Your "family" law atty will not tell you what they are. Ultimately, their loyalty is to the court system, not you.

I wish i could live with my mom full time. I hate my dad. he lives hours away from my school, friends, family, etc. I really don’t like spending time away from that. I’m obligated to spend the whole summer with him added with weekends when school comes around. it’s really unfair. Aleshia Phommachanh hey I feel ya. I am in a similar situation. I really suggest doing what you feel right. If one parent is abusive in some sort of way I suggest living with the other. I am not here to make any judgements. Just do what you think is right.

Not true.. my bestfriend just lost her 2 children to the father , he bribed them telling them what they were going to get if they stay with him and the kids chose dad, and he filed for child support right after he received custody, the father is in deep debt and needs money badly and the judge gave him custody, not the best interest of the children but the best interest of the father in this case..

As an 11 Year old myself, where I live the law is that you have to be 14 to have a say on who you can live with, which makes me a bit upset since I am 50/50 with my mother and father and I want to move full time with mom, the reason is because my Dad is a Narc and is a complete idiot and only cares about himself. I am so stuck in this situation and I feel so lost, he always pushes me down and I feel stuck and trapped, my mom is helping me keep my courage and move on, trying to wind my ways through his mess, I am stuck right now, there is nothing I can do though since I have to wait till I am 14 so I have 2 years and 4 months left of misery... :'(

Quincy Charles hi I had kinda the same thing , I am moving in 9 days to my dads house I talked a lot with school Counsellors and my dad trying to plan it out . You should be able to move but if your mom has sole custody it will be a bit harder to do.I recommend talking to a social worker to check if there’s any files on your parents
