- Welcome to this Wrexham Town Vlog, showing the real Wrexham from someone who lived there for many years.
With the Disney Plus, FX Original, FX Networks documentary, Welcome To Wrexham, following Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, as they take over the Wrexham Town football club and follow the people of Wrexham in their every day lives, we thought we would share with you a look around the town that Wills grew up in.
Follow us as Wills takes a trip down memory lane to the town of his childhood.
We take a look at some of the landmarks of Wrexham town, the football club, the library, the site of the old Hippodrome Cinema, the brewery, the crazy spaceship styled swimming baths and much more.
With our usual does of nuggets of history, fun, some tales of the past and of course the obligatory pint at the end, we hope you enjoy this look at Wrexham town.

Welcome to the official Postcard & A Pint TH-cam channel.
Postcard & A Pint was thought up by my partner, Rachel & myself, Wills one day while taking our daily 1 hour exercise during the lockdown of 2020. All of a sudden, we were spending more time together, not working 6 or 7 days a week in the arts industry, and binge watching travel programs, and we were actually really enjoying it, and it made us re-evaluate what was important in life for us. Now back to working 6 or 7 days a week again, with very little time off, our happy time is getting out there on our brief times off together and making short travel videos that we are now sharing with you. It's just a bit of fun, and great for our sanity. Your support is hugely appreciated x

Well, I wouldn't have guessed you filmed this in bits and bobs moments. Well done. Nice to do a memory lane isn't it? It's not always about the place but the memories. I did that too a couple of years ago. Think I even called it A trip down Memory Lane 😂, so original. Do hope you are feeling bit more perky shaking of the dregs of Covid. Nasty after taste I'm told. There were some lovely iconic buildings in Wrexham. That cathedral look an amazing building feat! That was some task. Thanks for the walk round town. Thank you so much. It was a tricky one to film!! There are some beautiful buildings there. I hope the money being poured into the football club helps the town and the local businesses. That would be amazing. I don’t think I had covid, I did 11 tests that week, all negative!! I had every symptom going, but no positive test! Hasn’t the weekend been gorgeous, we sure didn’t luck out for our long day out - but we had an amazing time none the less! It was so nice to get away from the U.K. saying that, we had a gorge day out in wales yesterday so win win!!! Memory Lane vids are cool aren’t they. Have a great week. 🍻
@@PostcardAndAPint I understand what you mean about negative tests. My husband has double pneumonia. He does not have COVID yet people all pull weird faces when I tell them or have comments when I’m on the phone. Sigh!
Yes we need to invest in our towns to keep the population feel they are worth it. Investing in people is the best investment. The weather is glorious here at the moment. I’m even going to hang the washing outside. Whohoooo. It’s been a while. It’s the little things that matter. Makes me cry thinking about the women in the Ukraine now making Molotov cocktails instead of being able to care fire their families. Sorry, on that sad note, do have a wonderful week. Loved your trip down Memory Lane! St. Giles Church is an architectural wonder. So many wonderful historic buildings with a story and the two of you tell them well! Thanks for sharing your memories Wills and we loved the tour. 6 weeks though? Hard to upload videos once a week with that type of production! We're just kidding. We don't know how younger folks with work and such are able to keep up at all!
The church is pretty special. This was a tricky one, but you’ll be happy to know we’ve managed 3 vlogs this week (2 in one day yesterday!!!) Production is upped!!! It’s back to work today, so we’re good for the next 3 weeks 🤣. Have a brilliant week both 🍻

Yaaaaaayyy!! You only went and did it! 500+ and climbing like stars. So proud of you wonderful folks. This was a super interesting tour to go on as well. We have a lot of towns like this around here... not quite at their full, former glory. Nevertheless there were some lovely places, the revived brewery looks amazing and I enjoyed so many of the tales of Wills' history there. Also, I have to say, whatever you did to make this video feel like a cohesive whole was amazing! I would have never known it was broken up across so much time and so many shoots! Winkling the best bits out of your home town....ah, takes me right back to those good old days of lockdown walks! 😂 I think the last time I was in Wrexham was actually working at the old brewery, installing a radio phone system for them! Shame a lot of these towns are suffering similar issues (my own included). Maybe a positive spinoff of higher fuel prices will be more local shops again? All the best👍😊

Great tour of W-rexham (as Slaw calls it 🤣) Shamefully, we’ve only ever driven through it, but based on your reason for not having a pint there, maybe that’s not a bad thing 😳 Although, the Horse and Jockey looks good from the outside. Hi guys it was really interesting to look around Wrexham, I'm not sure if I've ever been. Sounds like Wills was reliving some old memories 😃 Now see I would have enjoyed McDonald's, Its a bit of a guilty pleasure for our daughter and me, Al does not like them! Never been to Wrexham!!!!!! I’m shocked!! 🤣. It has some amazing architecture, it’s just a shame that it’s gotten a bit of a bad reputation over the years. Fingers crossed the money being poured into the football club will have a knock on effect for the local businesses as it was always a great town. I think I was just feeling too ill that day to appreciate my maccies!!! I usually don’t mind them, but that one was ‘limp’ to say the least. Thank you so much for your good wishes. Phase one records was a great shop, I used to go there all the time, I have also spent a lot of time in the Kop and the Turf. Another thing where we are similar is that my school band also played the Memorial Hall, we had a record contract at the time and still went down like a lead balloon 🤣. I also spent a lot of time at the three colleges as I spent a year as the president of the student's Union at Kelsterton in Connah's Quay.

Ah cool. I’ll tell you something I discovered last week - Moonlight Records is still there and open. I went in it briefly on Saturday, haven’t been there in about 30 years and it was even the same bloke behind the counter. We had a bit of a chat. Really cool!!! 🍻

There was a pub that I used to play there too, it may well have been that jockey one, it had a black and white exterior and was at the bottom of an incline behind the high street to the right if you come in passed the racecourse. It had a dark back room which is where people played, do you recognise it at all?

I have never been to Wrexham town centre and despite your brilliant tour around I think I will still be giving it a miss. Sorry. I do like a lot of places nearby though. Erddig is great and the hills start just outside of town. I have a feeling I'm not making things better. As a Notts County fan also stuck in the National League, I'm not a Wrexham fan. Love it!!!! It’s not a place we go often !!! (It’s the nearest place to us with a Currys’ - so we go once in a blue moon when a household appliance breaks!!! Minera mountain above though is stunning! Fingers crossed you get your own Hollywood legends to buy your footy club!!! Cheers for watching 🍻

Hi are you from wrehaxm actually i am coming there in January can you tell if my university is wrehaxm Glywnder University where should i stay wrehaxm, Manchester or Liverpool we are coming as couple and where is accomodation is cheap and where is more job opportunity
Hi there. If your university is in Wrexham, then it’s the Glyndwr university. I would most definitely stay in Wrexham as Liverpool and Manchester are at good hours drive away (you can still travel to them via train when you have time off). Your uni should be able to give you a list of places to stay whilst studying. We don’t live in Wrexham, we’re a 20 min drive away. It depends if you want to be in a town, or if you’re driving and want to be in a quieter place with a short drive in. I hope that helps a bit 🍻
