    Talk about a truck engine 221kw and 700nm. Would be great for climbing a mountain. People here saying its slow... 7.05 is not that slow. It's way faster than most SUV'S and the likes of Mazda 3 etc or anything that most of what you drive

      It’s also 10 times more expensive then what most people drive...lol

    It has only done around 2700km - diesels typically aren’t performing their best until over 10,000km. Besides, diesels power delivery is less linear so wide open throttle isn’t their forte.

    Why are people talking about its "slow" acceleration? For a diesel engine, it's actually quite decent as no one buys a diesel with the intention to race other drivers after every traffic light goes green. Diesel engines are made for those who need/want higher torque and better fuel consumption.
    By the way, for anyone considering this car/brand, I would highly recommend you don't go with their diesel versions. The SD6/TD6/SD4 engines seem to have some issue that make them suddently break down at around 80-130k kilometers. If you wanna look deeper into it, just type TD6/SD6/SD4 engine failures on your search bars and you'll be able to check out an astounding amount of consumers who got screwed up by LR's well-known unreliability.

    7 seconds isn't bad at all for a vehicle that weighs 2 tonnes. Interesting that the brakes and indicators didn't flash during the hard braking exterior shot but the indicators flashed on the interior shot.

    To slow for 700Nm (( How much weight is?

    • @blake301987
      @blake301987 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Weight is at the start of the video and is mentioned in the video. Also, torque is not an indication of speed. This is however slow for 221KW.

    SUV's are not for 0-60 mph .
    Newer suv's that aren't driven in off-road have much better on-road dynamics.
    Typical suv will deliver performance in motion after moving mass and inertia helps aceeleration.

      My Channel read again. I know that the 2019 range rover sport facelift which weighs 2303kg has a 575hp supercharged v8 that accelerates it from 0-100 in 4.5 sec. I'm not stupid, I said the 3.0l sdv6 with 306hp is actually faster than the velar with the same engine

    • @MyChannel10198
      @MyChannel10198 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Patrick 'The Reaper' Star Oh yes the Range Rover sport with SDV6 engine is about 300 hp, it does have the same engine as Velar. but for some reason this 3.0lr twin turbo Velar has a slow acceleration in this video. Land Rover must of detuned the Velar on purpose.

    • @stevenjr6582
      @stevenjr6582 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No , they are really fast.
      Raced it with an Audi A5 2.0tfsi 250hp and struggled till 120mph.
