I love how Chris stumbled upon my Surprise Them With the Penix Theory. If he plays great out the gate, if it takes teams 6/7 games to figure out a rookie QB on a heater, by the time teams figure him out forcing an adjustment the Falcons could already be in New Orleans in the Super Bowl with a chance to win their first Super Bowl in the stadium of their longest and biggest rival.
Also saying he isn't that mobile was also not that correct either. He is very mobile if he wants to be. He is a 4.5 40 guy that has some good wheels on him and moves around extremely well in the pocket and on roll outs. Theirs a reason he was sacked less times his entire career than Caleb was in just his last season lol. Penix doesn't want to run because it's not needed with his huge arm and pro level throwing ability. But he can for sure run better than most QB's when he needs to.
They don’t talk about how well falcons defense is playing 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️ That’s one of the biggest things that will help Penix and the offense moving forward
3 drops in the first drive and you're the first person to mention those early drops likely being related to the left handed spin. Thank you!!! Jerry Rice said he spent hours and hours catching balls from a JUGGs machine spinning it left handed when Steve Young took over from Joe Montana. It's understated how much it matters.
People keep saying he isn’t that mobile but completely forget that’s it’s by choice. Dude is extremely mobile heck that was his game before he switched his style up.
10:11 if he is not with familiar with Penix deep ball he must of not watched him in college. He had the best deep ball in college football and was known for his deep shots to Rome, Polk, and McMillan.
Penix Jr. has the heart and the talent to lead this team. You aren't going to have to worry about things like drugs, attitude problems, off field issues. It is wishful thinking, but I would like to see him just nut up for 350-400 passing with 4 TDs. A pair to Mooney. 1 to Bijan Mustard, and 1 to London. Maybe a 5th to Pitts as a "haha" in garbage time to make up for Pitts Pick-assist against the Giants.
In the grand scheme of things, who gives a flying fuck about how much shit the media people were talking about the decision to draft the kid, after paying Kirk? Kirk served his purpose, by giving the young guy the time and space to get himself adjusted to all the lifestyle changes that come with becoming a professional football player, as well as the time to get adjusted to the on the field stuff as well, without any pressure to have to carry the franchise from day 1. Having a consistent personality and consummate professional to learn the process by watching it being done. I don’t think the goal was to have Kirk take a nose dive off of a cliff, but they also gave him more than enough time to snap himself out of it, before they eventually had to make the decision that he had sunk the ship that they gave him to sail, might as well let the young guy go out there and get some reps, with the understanding that he wasn’t going to be expected to save the team from the disaster Kirk left it in, but if he could do it, he was going to have that opportunity still. It wasn’t going to just be expected, but they did give the team the chance to get it done and not wait until it was well beyond done before at least letting him get out there to get some live reps in. If Kirk doesn’t want to waive his no trade clause, oh well, just cut his ass and call it a day, or pay him what he’s already under contract for next year to be the backup, until he decides to change his mind. It’s a high price for a backup, but the rookie is still cheap, and with both combined, it’s probably still a good deal cheaper than a top 10 QB annual salary by itself right now. 🤷🏽♂️
I wanted my giants to draft him he was ly favorite Qb in the draft past year but the injury history doess scare me will his body hold upp.. Hope so hes a likeable guy
Michael was always thought to be the most NFL ready QB, although Jaylen is somewhat surprising how he’s caught on and put 5 touchdowns on the best defense in the league last week.
It's a solid start, but that was against 2-12 Giants, one of the worse if not the worse team in the NFL. Let the man play and make progress, a lot of solid rookie QBs are making a difference.
I said told everyone who would listen that he was the best pocket passer in last years draft.. Do not be at all surprised if the Falcons beat the Commanders this weekend..
@ I've forgotten more 1st rd bust than you can remember bro, respectfully. And the number is leas than 50% since you don't know it off the top. But the point I was trying make: Nobody has ever drafted a QB in the first round, especially in the top 10 without the expectation that they should at least look like a pro QB. That's the whole point of the draft otherwise you'd draft him in the later rounds if you felt like the player was more developmental. If they become a bust then hey, but you EXPECT them to be pro starting caliber.
@@phinouttawater2571 expectation vs reality slow one. Take a breath, he said this guy “looks like a pro” out the gate. Meaning many top 10 picks do not and you see it right away they not ready, and he’s right 1000%. Seems like you don’t know the first thing about draft hit rate, check your statistics again buddy. 😂😂. If anything they flame out and come back with another team 5-7 years later if they are a starter at all.
@ I'm not denying reality. I'm speaking to the the expectation, silly goose. We shouldn't be surprised that a top 10 pick, looks like a pro. It's a problem, when they don't. Most top 10 picks, are drafted that high because they should be "pro" ready(burrow, Trevor, Tua, CJ, Herbert etc). Very few are drafted as projects(Mahomes, Anthony Richardson). You usually go top 10, because you showed enough in college, to be percived as someone good enough to handle starting duties right away. Which is why most 1st round QB's immediately start nowadays. So I reiterate. You better look like a pro as a top 10 pick or you got problems. And lets count the hits and misses of top 10 picks going back 15 years. To the 2010 draft. Hits: Cam Newton, Andrew Luck, Ryan Tannehill, Jared Goff, Carson Wentz, Pat Mahomes, Josh Allen, Kyler Murray, Joe burrow, Tua, Herbert, Trevor, CJ stroud Misses: Sam Bradford, Jake locker, blaine gabbert, Blake bortles, jameis winston, Marcus mariota, Mitch Trubisky, Josh Rosen, baker, Sam Darnold, Daniel jones, Zach Wilson, Trey Lance Byrce Young(TBD) That's 13 hits. And 13 misses. With a TBD on Bryce Young. So around 50/50 like I said bro. And it shakes out close to that if you go back even further. So you need to check your numbers again if anything man lol
I think Kyle Pitts is probably way better than what he's showing. His role sucks pretty bad there. Hopefully Penix doesn't listen to people and keeps throwing at Pitts.

Honestly my perfect world scenario
I mess with the theory. I just want my team in the playoffs and I think penix can take them there
@@dishannaik9133Thats the truth. The goal has always been just get into the playoffs (hopefully host a game) and what happens happens.
That would be great. I would love it.
I would love this for yall. I lived in Atlanta for 12 years and was a season ticket holder. Y’all got a good one.
Night and day watching him in the pocket with pressure closing in, vs how Kirk dealt with pressure.
The guy who says "I'm not familiar with penix deep ball" might as well have stayed home. 😂😂
Shouldn’t be talkin ball

Bingo
Lights out!!
It was the Giants calm down, let's see what we do against the Commanders
@JohnThree-f8e Rhe defense been on top tier performance the last 4games. We gone do the commanders dirty
Well said.
He looked pretty dang comfortable in the pocket 😊 Rise Up!

I'm an Eagles fan and I love Penix.
I bet you do. I saw the movie "Philadelphia".
PENIX is him bro 😊
Thanks for the Falcons coverage. Appreciate you guys.
Penix handed the blitz like a real pro QB! Commander's have secondary issues! 😢
Mooney and Drake gone eat
People keep saying he isn’t that mobile but completely forget that’s it’s by choice. Dude is extremely mobile heck that was his game before he switched his style up.
and he doin it at 4.4 speed when he chooses.
@ exactly
Penix shows his mobility in the pocket!😅😊

exactly what ive been trying to tell people since the draft
Spot on!!!!! Oh myGod!!!! Yes. Perfectly said
$100M for this? SMH...
The crazy thing is he is younger than nix and only like 6 months older than Daniels. Yet the narrative is that he’s a dinosaur
That's crazy I just looked at that
Im thinking a close game.

The Falcons did ge themselves another Micheal at least…. Let’s see what he can really do! He seems like the mobile type of QB who can make big plays!
Penix was said to have the best deep ball in the draft.
Well he is a pro quarterback
Good video🔥🔥,Happy Christmas eve
Finally someone being honest about Pitts. We need to trade him immediately.

U gon get this Penix

I'm a Commanders fan and I love Penix jr! Any other game I'd be for him.😢😮😅😊
Why do people keep talking about cutting Kirk? We still need a backup 🤦🏽♂️
Michael Penix had to put extra time in to get acclimated to his wide receivers.
I wouldn't cut Cousins except for that 10 million roster bonus.😢😮
Whats the wwldd sticker mean? what would Landon Dickerson Do?
We will see the best 2 rookie QBs this season at making pre and post snap reads!😮😅😊
Commander's secondary could have trouble this game with st juste in the game.😢😮
Drafting Penix was a genius move!
Now if they just hadn't tossed $100M in the street on Cousins...
Darnell Mooney ATD this Sunday night book if
A QB drafted in the top 10 better look like a pro QB or you got future problems lmao
Yeah you definitely know nothing about the draft. Go check the hit rate on QB top 10 and get back with us 😂
QBs develop at different rates in the NFL!😮😅😊

bo nix is older than michael penix 😂
They should've kept Cousins no chance of winning anything with Penix
Penix bout to throw 4 tds on the bummanders 🤣😩
Anyone looks like a pro playing against the giants 😂
watch us beat commanders next, yall gonna be even more confident he’s our franchise QB🦍🦍
I'm glad everybody on here knows that Pitts is a bum
The top right corner of the laptop 😭
How the hell you gonna talk about the falcons with that dirty ass sticker on your laptop?!! Wth bro? Good video though.

Pitts gives up on routes.. its costed Kirk multiple ints and penix 2st career int
Can sports media pundits stop with the Michael Penix is old narrative🙄 It's not like he's Brandon Weeden at 28 out there
Hey Chris, I see that damn sticker .... I smell a hater!
seems like a bunch of former pro athletes with a "Cowboy" that looks like Stalin's grandson...ha!
