It’s sort of “historically accurate” (but why let the truth get in the way of a good story,esp. one that he’s been asked for 30 years)but Maynard was working in a pet store (which he had done in Michigan) and trying to put a band together, this is all in his memoir. Adam Jones (who came to LA with Tom Morello) was living in the loft, brought Keenan over and he moved in. That big party Bill threw with the video budget Bill mentioned was also TOOL’s debut show in the loft and the label that signed Green Jello (Zoo) signed TOOL pretty much on the spot at that party.
