Thanks for sharing your thought, goals, and 2024 shots. I look forward to following your journey. I predict you will love wildlife and astro photography. You will likely need a bigger lens for wildlife. One thing I would like to hear more about are your thoughts on composition during your videos. Yours is certainly not conventional. My three top goals are to 1) get out and shoot more, especially to take advantage of local weather conditions, 2) build a web site for my pictures, and 3) print more pictures.
I’m very excited to try out other avenues of photography! While I was Sony Kando this year I tested out the 100-400 on my A7CR and photographed some birds (so maybe I did try wildlife this year?) and I enjoyed using it quite a lot so may consider picking up the Sigma 100-400 as it’s the cheaper option.
@ I sprung for the Sony 100-400 because of the 1.4x teleconverter. The teleconverter is on my lens most of the time. That is not an option on the Sigma. I would strongly consider the 200-600 (or Sigma or Tamron equivalent) for wildlife. The 200-600 is a pain to pack, but is very sharp and easy to use.
Hi Dylan, if sony came out with a RX1R mark III, do you see that type of fixed lens camera replacing your current set up. Would you see yourself replacing an interchangeable lens system with the a7c with an even smaller 35mm fixed lens camera? Great videos!
@@ben_chao I’ve thought about this a lot and while I would love to have an RX1R III, it probably wouldn’t be able to replace my A7CR completely. While I do use a 35mm most of time, I do love using my 20mm as well. Regardless I really hope Sony is working on it and would love to get my hands on it. The only deal breaker for me would be if they decided to make the lens a 40mm or 28mm.
@@DylanBlackburnmaybe a video explaining and showing why 35mm is your go to focal length. You’ve touched on it bit in your lens videos. It would be nice to see why just a small difference in focal length like 28 or 40 just isn’t right for you as a photographer.

Thumbnail photos are such an IG cliché. and don’t get me starting on the editing…
