I have a question. Can't these scratch a fully glazed trapway and ruin a toilet? Also is it possible to break the porcelain of a toilet bowl with one if you don't know what you are doing?
Thank you for this video sir! I was about to call a plumber to snake out my toilet and didn’t even realize there was another 3 feet to my auger. As you can tell, I’m no expert when it comes to plumbing! Thank you again!
I love how you not only explain what to do and why, but you even include tips for minimizing your mess. I’ve seen so many plumbers that leave the bathroom a disgraceful mess!
Dude you are a life saver! My toilet has been clogged for a week and we were ready to shell out for a plumber. Now it's fixed! I can't thank you enough✨️
I knew I was in trouble when I dumped my husband's bedside commode into the toilet, and it wouldn't plunge. I recently switched him to Quilted Northern, which is too absorbent for that. I bought an augar a few months ago, on Your suggestion (in a different video). I tried to use it, but I didn't know how, so I was ready to give up. Then I grabbed my phone and searched for directions. Thankfully, this one showed up. Thanks to you, I might have to do a thorough cleaning on my toilet augar, but I don't have to call a plumber now.
Thank you Roger. I was able to snake my toilet myself with this product. I scheduled an appointment followed by cancelling, then googled your solution for unclogging a toilet. The closest home depot to me didn't have this so I drove 15 minutes to the next one for it. Within 3 minutes of using this my problem was resolved. Thanks again!
An important tip:What a lot of plumbers fail to do, is to make sure you periodically lube/spray down the components and cable,it makes the operation SO much easier
I have that same auger that along with your video helped me more then words can express, thank you so much for clarity in explaining how to properly use the auger
Watched more than one of your videos. You truly have helped me save money. Used my auger wrong several times until today from your video I found out how to extend it....thank you so much
Thank you for educating me on the 6’ auger. I had no idea that I could click the top button to extend it.. 😱 THANK YOU‼️ It wasn’t doing it’s job for the first time, so out of frustration I turned to TH-cam AND there you were my Mr. Plummer Angel. I returned to the bathroom and extended my closet auger AND IT WORKED‼️
Thank you so so much! I bought the auger and didn't use it correctly. After watching your video I was able to use it properly and unclog 2 toilets! thank you again!
Right off the bat I saw that sweet stache and heard that accent and I went "yep, dude like that knows how to do manly stuff. I better listen" thanks for the tips.
Manly stuff? 67 year old lady, here. I think there's a cat toy down there. Water is clear but won't go down. I tried everything else so might just buy one of these. So I don't have to pay a MANLY bill for something I should be able to do myself.
I just used a Closet Auger to unclog a severe plug in my Mother's toilet! I LOVE plumbing, so getting to do this, MADE MY DAY! I've always been fascinated in plumbing!
I found my way here after stumbling upon a reddit forum where someone mentions an auger is THE way to go and to forget about plungers. After having no luck with my plunger, and taking a trip to Walmart, I found a 6ft auger and it worked LIKE A CHARM...and ugh.......a literal turd was on the bulb lmao I learned something today lol and am now googling augers and people's experiences with em.
Best video on this so far!! Thank you. My Dad already tried to unclog the toilet at my house with a snake. But his was missing the spiraling bulb. It had a jagged edge of the snake wire where the bulb had snapped off and he was hoping that might be enough to hook anything. It didn't work. So I will go out and buy a 6 footer and update you if it worked!
2 different plungers, 1/2in Auger..3hours being wet and cussing. Watched the video, told wife I will be back. Returned in 45 minutes from HD and within 5 minutes, toilet was cleared. Thank you for the video...AWESOME
Great educational video. So, while getting ready to buy the one seen on the video, discovered that the Amazon link shows Ridgid 59797 K-6 model, which does not offer optional drill attachment. After some research, the one used in your video (that includes drill attachment) is Ridgid 56658 K-6P (P for power drill, has black knob to detach handle). To my surprise, cheaper price at HomeDepot ($67.34) than Amazon ($85.01). Again, appreciate learning about it as I am getting the one shown in the video, K-6P model (on its way), especially, with teenagers at home, clogged toilets occurs at least every 3 months or so, and using a plunger has not always worked, already have one of the toilets clogged for 3 weeks, well well well…is no more. Thank you so much, for helping us saving money.
Just used the "rigid toilet auger" and it worked like a charm. I bought the 6ft before seeing this vid cause I knew I messed up bad when the plunger couldn't get the job done
That's for breaking it down. I just purchased a 3 ft. Auger. I've tried my plunger, but the water's still at an overflow level. So now I'm gonna use this and hope for the best. Again thanks.
Well explained Roger! I had no clue about the different lengths - THANK YOU! I think I have the urinal for it is shorter. Rigid looks super especially to attach a drill, so off to Home Depot to get the longer one. I'm a Wakeland, you are a Wakefield - related? Thanks cousin!! Mort in Dallas
Wish I would have seen this before I used the old Rusty Drain Snake in the toilet. It scored the enamel and left rust marks. Looks like I never clean out my toilet.. This puts the metal into the hole and out of site. Thanks for the video. Peter
I have a closet toilet model I can get it in the bottom and up to the top bend but it has so much resistance at the top curve in the P-trap (?) that i feel I will break the poscelian if i push to hard while twisting it. I tried as you showed, but it does not seem to want to go over the top and bend downward initially. Should i fear pushing harder as I turn the handle? I just don't want to shatter the porcelain with it
If you purchased the auger at Home Depot, there is a good chance it has been used before. They take anything back. This very week I saw a diverter tub spout with DAP around the end that meets the tile and it was in the blister pack.
I LOOKED AT SO MANY VIDEOS ON THIS. I HAVE THE EXPANDABLE 6 FOOT AUGER. I COULD NEVER FIGURE OUT HOW TO PUT IT BACK IN THERE!! THEN YOU SHOWED ME THE BUTTON YOU PRESS TO EXPAND. SO I FIGURED OUT HOW TO PUSH THE BUTTON BOTH WAYS. NOW PUTTING IT AWAY IS NEATER. ALSO I DIDN'T REALLY GET HOW SOME OF THE HOSE HANGS OUT NO MATTER WHAT AND THAT YOU PULL THE PIPE PART UP TO GET ONLY THE TIP OF THE HOSE SHOWING. I DIDN'T KNOW YOU COULD CLIP THE HOSE TO THE HOSE CLIPPER FOR NEATER STORAGE. ALL IN ALL YOUR VIDEO IS THE BEST. AT LEAST FOR ME.
Any tips for getting past the p bend? We recently had a blockage and i bought 2 augers from my local hardware but both were unsuccesfull and we ended up calling a plumber
ug the toilet at the place i was livng at had a weird size loop where the auger would not pass the p trap weird design where there was a lip of procline preventing the start tp go and would just push back into the bowl. plus the auger roomate had was really crap and hard to crank. the one my dad had worked great. wonder if roomate baught a crapy quality.
You got any tips for a house that is backed up at the back of the house but the front toilet shower drains fine. Plumbers said I should remove toilet and then use a 75 ft auger. What u think?
I tried twisting it but it won't budge. There's 2 feet of coil between the handle and the plastic tube. I have know idea what to do next. Is the auger broken?
I have a hell of a time trying to get the extra 3 feet out and then back in on the one I have at work even when it was brand new. Should I wd40 the hell out of the button or will it loosen up in time? I don't use it that often surprisingly since I'm maintenance at a motel
If I only heard his voice, I wouldn't have that twice about it being John C. Reilly doing a plumber skit lololololll. He even looks a bit like him, uncanny lol
I’ve tried 75% of that shit & I still have a lot of them for smaller clogs. I have the one with the small hole on the end. I’ll try ur method if the long as auger doesn’t work thank u
Thanks for watching!
Hopefully this will save you some money!
If you have an auger, let us know here in the comments section
Selling out the trade for TH-cam views, you're a no good bastard...
Hey I bought the urine auger on accident will it still work on the toliet

Never call a plumber for this shit. The last one I called charged me $430 dollars. What a scam!
@@crand20033you could do it yourself , but if you don’t want to or don’t know how to then it’s not a scam when someone provides you their SERVICE lol.

Nice video. Very helpful. I was considering a three-foot auger but the six-footer makes more sense based on your presentation.
Thanks so much for this explanation. But, the best thing about this is that you recommend putting towels around.
You're doing God's work oml thank you 🙌🙏
Great video Brother! Thank you sir for helping helping me out. I bought a Rigid Toilet Auger my self.

Do you recommend 3 or 4 inch drain pipe for a toilet? Does the 3 inch pipe clog noticeably more often?
The bigger the better!

do you think a longer Auger (15 or 25 feet) would make a difference if the standard 6 or 8 foot one wont clear the clog ?
Do you recommend 6ft over a 3ft?
Thank you
Great information and demo!
Thanks! Do you have an auger you use at home?
Nice tan Roger. Looks like you just got back from the beach.
Do you prefer the bulb head or the drip head closet auger?

No (shouldn't have to).
