ATTENTION: If NONE of these worked for you, you might need to buy a differently shaped plunger. I had a plunger shaped like the one in the video and it wasn't creating an effective seal for suction on the type of toilet I have. I just went to Home Depot and bought a beehive shaped one (korky Beehive max to be specific) and it worked like a charm. Good luck to you all!
Thanks for this video. I bought the toilet snake and that fixed the issue.
Way to go Harry!
Thank you so much!🙏 Your explanation helped!

Welcome Leanne!
Hi again Mike! Do you have a video on how to snake a toilet? We have a toilet that is, once in a while, flooding the bathroom. There doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason as to when it decides to flood - sometimes it's a flush with nothing in the bowl at all. So the latest advice is to pull to toilet off and snake the pipes below. We are have a little trepidation attempting this! Please advise me again!
Are there any other drains that are slow-for example a shower/tub next to the toilet?
Hello, I just used a 6' auger several times and toilet still slow with a gurgle at bottom end. I snaked out the bathroom clean out and the shower drain and still the toilet is not flushing completely.
I did pull out a couple of paper towels from the clean out on the first pass, then a small paper towel from the shower drain. Not Shure if there's more, but did it twice. At least 50' in. Getting ready to pull the toilet and snake it. Don't know what the hell is going on?
There was certainly stuff in your drain at the least. It sounds like you may have an issue with a blocked vent. If you can get a snake on your roof or even a drain camera, you might give that a look
@@MikeKlimek I pulled the toilet out. A tree root had squeezed between the concrete slab and ABS drain pipe, through the wax seal and grew into a massive horse tail down into the drain. It was a good 3' long and very thick and heavy and tough to pull out. This is where I wish TH-cam would let us post a picture. The problem is, I'm all back up now without the use of my toilet for 5 day's!🤣

Thanks so much for tip about filling the plunger bell with water. Since water is incompressible, you end up sending a nice slug of water down the toilet throat instead of less effective air! I’ve unclogged toilets for years and never thought about that. I assume that with enough plunging my plunger eventually displaces the air with water; I’ll start off with water the next time and save myself some plunging!
