I like your idea of checklists instead of fill in the blanks!

11:12 You can miss me with the wedding food. In all my years doing this, only once was the food actually good, and it happened to be tacos from an up and coming roach coach. It was at Cielo Farms btw surprisingly.
Wedding food is almost always cold, under seasoned and undercooked at best.
Not only do I work best on an empty stomach, but why fight for undercooked cold chicken with cream or a dry piece of beef/salmon ??? Or worse! Being insulted with some cheap boxed lunch.
Nothing says hired help more than getting that as your meal. 🙃
If anything, I just ask the client to give my food to someone else, give me a twenty to buy tacos on my way home or just let me have a drink or two from the bar and we're even.

I know many photographers that bring their own food to weddings. I just don't have time to leave the venue to get my own food, and most of my weddings are travel weddings so being fed at the venue is easier for me. But if you hate wedding food, I suppose you could build it into to your contract that you can leave the venue for X time to go eat and break.

@@HillaryMuelleck It's not that I hate wedding food, it's that only once did I have food that I can die and say: "it was worth the stomach ache."
I would hate to put that into my contract.
I'm up front with my clients about food. I straight up tell them they DO NOT have to spend money on a 'vendor meal.'
Just get me a drink or two and I'm happy.
