    awesome video and instructions! I have made 1 before and struggled a bit, but your instructions are much better explained. So what happens if you loose a bead out of one of the cages? Is there a way to put it back in without taking the whole thing apart? What type of metal are the jump rings? When I use semi-precious beads, I don't want the metal coating or whatever to wear off. Thank you so much for your tutorial!!!

    • @Jansjewels
      @Jansjewels  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry for the delay. We are still struggling to figure things out after my husband died. I have not found an easy way to get the beads back in when they come out. I generally use plated brass but if I was doing one that I wanted to keep or sell I would probably do it in sterling.

    • @Jansjewels
      @Jansjewels  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Rita. The necklace can be made to any desired length. The length is only determined by the number of beads you choose to use.

    is there any claps and jump ring can keep weight of that necklace?

    • @Jansjewels
      @Jansjewels  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Zulfiya, I am not sure I understand the question. With this necklace
      the weight is mostly coming from the beads. If the necklace is too heavy
      you can use lighter weight beads. If you are talking about the strength
      of the clasp and jump rings at the end, you can just use heavier gauge
      jump rings at the ends.

      Hi Kimberly. The only semiprecious no hole beads we have found are vintage beads. We have a limited supply of no hole semiprecious beads. www.jansjewels.com/no-hole-beads-1.html You can also use semiprecious beads with holes or any other round bead.

    Is there a way you can make this with smaller beads? I have some beautiful antique beads but they are either 6 or 8mm

    • @Jansjewels
      @Jansjewels  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you would just need smaller jump rings. However, I can not tell you how smaller. Typically they will be about 2mm larger than the beads. The thicker the gauge of the jump rings will also factor in. If they are thick the inside of the jump ring will be smaller on the inside.

  • @reikinurse4294
    @reikinurse4294 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Don't you have trouble losing the occasional bead that falls through the jump rings? I did, so now I run clear fishing line through holed beads.

    • @Jansjewels
      @Jansjewels  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Reikinurse. Semiprecious beads, such as the amethyst beads used in this video, may vary slightly is size. That is why in the video I add three or four beads and then check to make sure they are all secure. I replace any bead that is too small. If a lot of beads are a problem then the beads are too small for the jump rings. Running a line through the beads would definitely secure them.

    Did you make the tassels or buy from the store?

    • @Jansjewels
      @Jansjewels  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Frances. For the earrings I used 1 3/4" silver plated steel chain tassels from our shop www.jansjewels.com/1-34-SP-Steel-Chain-Tassels_p_38864.html
      Making your own tassels is an easy project see video "How to Make a Brass Chain Tassel" th-cam.com/video/oyLjEsLs_ug/w-d-xo.html
