Every time she brings tears in my eyes cause it is so beautiful. Angelina Jordan ASTAR (the name says it all), this young norwegian genius (today 17 y) is imo the best singer on the planet! I am 69 y old and have never heard a singer like her in my whole life. Her voice touches my heart and cleanses my soul.
I LOVE IT THAT YOU PLAY THE ORGINAL TO COMPARE TO OUR BAREFOOT PRINCESS COVERS, SHE IS JUST SO AMAZING. I LISTEN TO HER EVERYDAY. I'M 62 YRS OLD AND THE MEMORIES SHE BRINGS BACK TO ME WITH THESE OLDER SONGS ARE PRICELESS. GET TO KNOW HER FROM THE BEGINNING YOU WON'T BE DISAPOINTED.
Oh, you have done it now. Get ready, Angelina's rabbit hole is deep, there is no escape but it is damn comfortable down here. Next, try Angelina's cover of Screaming Jay Hawkins' 'I Put A Spell On You'. Watch her black and white studio version.
Angelina created the vocal arrangement. Two time Grammy award winning pianist, Rob Christie wrote the musical arrangement. The Executive producer of this video is Mery Zamani, Angelina’s grandma, Angelina’s greatest creative influence. The two youngest girls are Angelina’s uncle Michael’s children Michael is Angelina’s manager. The middle school aged girl in white is Angelina’s younger sister, Juliette. Angelina, (the barefoot princes) paid homage to the King. Her wardrobe, her hairstyle, the guitar, pianist, Rob Christie’s coveralls, etc. are what Elvis wore and played in his 1968 Come Back Special. Angelina’s beehive hair style is what Priscilla Presley wore at that time. Angelina will be turning seventeen years old tomorrow, the tenth of January.
The hair is called a Beehive and Priscilla Elvis wore her hair like that in the 60's. She was honoring Priscilla and Elvis with Elvis Red Guitar. Elvis was a Great entertainer in his time but he had one problem, He never wrote a song on his own. He sang Others songs.
When you went on about her hair, I was like, "Have you looked in the mirror?" 😂 Nice reaction to what many of us feel is the best vocalist in the world!
Angelina is a Norwegian citizen. She is currently living LA. She signed with Republic Records in August of 2020. She has a catalogue of approximately 180 and original and cover songs. She was six years old when she had her first studio recording session. You can check out her six year old cover of “I Who Have Nothing”.
Hi there congratulation you just found the best voice current - and i have also a message for her... - dear Angelina - today you turn 17 - i saw you grew up from a miracle to a world force as of today - i will listen to your music until i have to leave - you have made me tear up a lot more than all pain and injuries in my teen-time but i love it - maybe you remember this white hair guy July 10 last year straight at the stage border of your concert in Sandefjord wearing a T-Shirt with your face and the sentence "58 year old fanboy" - i cant wear it again because i also turned a year more... hope to see you soon somewhere in Europe again listen to your coming Album Originals - maybe you can place "unchained melody" in your program because i do love your Cover of it so much - happy birthday and that your wishes come true - a big hug to you and your family from Germany
That dude playing the piano is Rob Christie Republic Records Studio Director at Universal Music Group Manhattan Beach, California, and he has been working with AJ since she signed with the largest record company in the world at the age of 14, two years ago. Rob was the MC of AJ Christmas Show that aired Dec 23, of 21. AJ’s Christmas Show that live-streamed on Dec 23 of 21 had some of the most important musicians of our time: Frank Sinatra's drummer for 6 years, and sun in-law of the late Henry Mancini, Greg Field has won 9 Grammys, and the bass player, Chuck Berghofer who also played for Sinatra for 6 years, and toured with Barbara Streisand, accompanied AJ on her Christmas Show, and they stated that she had the "storytelling ability of the greats, Streisand, Fitzgerald, Vaughan, including Sinatra, to name a few. The main pianist, a five-time nominated for Grammys, Shelly Berg, stated in all his years working with the greatest vocalist, he had never encountered a talent like AJ. Did I forget to mention Jimmy Z, the famous Sax Player who worked with Rod Steward, Etta James, the Eurythmics, and Doctor Dre, was part of the band for the show? Jimmy stated that AJ was the best he has ever played for. Rob Christie Republic Records Studio Director at Universal Music Group Manhattan Beach, California played the guitar, and was the MC of the show. (I can't list the complete backgrounds on all the band members because it would take several pages to do them justice.) Angelina stated that she would rather perform than take a breath, and she has never been forced to perform, it has been her decision.
Thank you for Discovering Angelina. She will be your most significant find for 2023. The song was written by Mark James, an American singer/songwriter, who recorded it the year it was written. The best known version, however, was that done by Elvis Presley. It was his last No 1 song. In the Wikipedia entry of the origins of the song, Mark James is said to have remarked "That late one night, he was fooling around on his Fender guitar and using his Hammond organ pedals for a bass line and came up with what he thought was a catchy melody. At the time, he was married to his first wife but still had feelings for his childhood sweetheart, who was married back in Houston. James's wife had suspicions about his feelings. He felt it was a confusing time for him and that all three were "caught in this trap that they could not walk out of." Other singers covering this song invariably base their performance on that of Elvis, in that it is very "upbeat". Angelina took a very different path in that she read and understood the lyrics and what Mark James intended when writing them . To my mind, her rendition is much truer to the emotions of the song. The children appearing in the video were Angelina's cousins Aurora (first) and then Athena - daughters of her uncle Michael Astar, and then her sister Juliette. I would hazard a guess that they were included to emphasise that children are very important to Angelina and her family. Confession! I have never been a great fan of Elvis Presley, although I do like some of his earlier recordings, and I had never heard of the song "Suspicious minds" but knew that Angelina would completely take ownership of it, and she did. It was beautiful. After listening to it several times, I decided to download the lyrics to see whether she kept to the original structure. She didn't, and the song is all the better for it. For me, that she started with the Bridge of the song is very significant and, I feel, very indicative of Angelina's "up front" transparency. She was declaring that it was important that their love did not die, and then carries on to say why she feels as she does. Others first say how they feel and then, almost as an afterthought, assure their love they don't want it to end. For me, it is whether I feel the singer is genuine about the situation and wishes it could be resolved or whether the singer understands the situation but thinks the blame is on her/his partner but feels the need to assure them they don't want it to end (until somebody else comes along).
Thank you! The best young female artist just 17 years old today "IMO" - Angelina sings better than already established world stars. No one can stop Angelina from becoming a world star. That's just how it is! Her first album will be released in 2023 with Republic Records.
Angelina started singing when she was one and a half, and won Norway's Got Talent in 2014 at age 8. She's the most incredible vocalist I've ever heard. I'll give you just one recommendation for now, which is her performance of Bohemian Rhapsody on America's Got Talent, The Champions, at age 13: th-cam.com/video/D7SE6c1Htds/w-d-xo.html
First I thought you are familiar with the Elvis Area 🙂.But you don't know Prescilla and her hairstyle,🤔 There's a lot of hints for the comeback of Elvis in this Video. And it came out a few days before the current Elvis Movie 🎥 A well done professional tribute for the never forget Elvis Feelings 🙏💞🎸
Tomorrow, January 10th is her 17th birthday. Absolutely what I expected. She made this her own song and she did it beautifully. I noticed Juliet sitting there she is going to be as beautiful as Angelina one day. Elvis' version is great, and it still is one of my favorites. but Angelina's version is equally great and is definitely her own. When I first heard this song I loved it and put it at #3 on my playlist (Angelina Jordan Playlist by Terry M.), about midday I moved it up to #1. The main thing that changed my mind was the power in her voice. I'm not talking about loudness I'm talking about the power she has regardless of how loud or soft she sings. This is a quality that I haven't heard from anyone in my 82 years. This voice has become so unique that it is totally unmatched. Her phrasing in the last bridge is great. And she got Elvis’s ‘Oh Yea’ at the end of the song. The pianist is Rob Christie (3 Grammys), he is the head of the Republic Record department that is responsible for Angelina and other singers. The two small kids are her uncle Mike's kids, and the older girl is Angelina's sister. If you haven’t already reacted to her latest studio of Whitney Houston's version you should - here’s the link - th-cam.com/video/iX0g99jN26U/w-d-xo.html 🙂 Below is a list of my recommendations for doing reactions to Angelina Jordan. 1. For the initial shock you should start with ‘I Put A Spell On You’ She was 9 years old when she did this. The link for this song is - th-cam.com/video/nwFloCPXzCs/w-d-xo.html 2. The next song you should react to is an Elvis cover ‘Suspicious Minds’ - th-cam.com/video/RTbKhkceR00/w-d-xo.html - this will show you how her voice and presence has developed. 3. To follow her growth react to the following songs in order: At age 6 - ‘I Who Have Nothing’ her first time in a studio - th-cam.com/video/RjQZKBpVaes/w-d-xo.html At age 7 - 8; Norway's Got Talent - th-cam.com/video/d3gSho9yf88/w-d-xo.html At age 8 ‘What A Difference A Day Makes’ -th-cam.com/video/ZSfgCIGd7k4/w-d-xo.html At age 10 ‘Feeling Good’ - th-cam.com/video/p8kAL-sGJx8/w-d-xo.html At age 11 ‘I’m A Fool To Want You’ - th-cam.com/video/SGx0djXTXQk/w-d-xo.html She also did this during Norway’s Got Talent, but she did it A Capella. At age 12 There are two songs of note here: ‘Shield’ which is one of here originals - th-cam.com/video/lQtUbVKb0vs/w-d-xo.html She was invited to perform at Quincy Jones’ 85th birthday in London she sang what is sort of her anthem (she has sung throughout the years many times). This is the rehearsal for the show but it is excellent, it is number two on my playlist. - th-cam.com/video/OMkwoqUNNkE/w-d-xo.html At Age 13 she performed two songs on America’s Got Talent - and one other song of note - ‘I Have Nothing’ is a tribute to Whitney Houston - th-cam.com/video/eTcvvO6B3Io/w-d-xo.html On AGT ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ for which she got the Golden Buzzer - th-cam.com/video/qF0JV28vgLw/w-d-xo.html On AGT ‘Goodbye Yellow Brick Road’ in the finals - th-cam.com/video/4XOMskgN8w4/w-d-xo.html - but she didn’t win. A lot of people are upset about that, but I think it’s the best thing that happened for her. At Age 16 she has three new covers. The newest and the best is an Elvis cover ‘Suspicious Minds’ - th-cam.com/video/RTbKhkceR00/w-d-xo.html She has released a new version of I Have Nothing - th-cam.com/video/iX0g99jN26U/w-d-xo.html - which is probably the best song she has done so far. The other is ‘My Funny Valentine - th-cam.com/video/bWiLOnHJYxg/w-d-xo.html She has done several Adel covers and one other song of note - ‘Million Miles’ - th-cam.com/video/3KxvwuZ7oEM/w-d-xo.html - this is an original that she wrote in honor of her grandfather after he passed away. It is also the first song released under her contract with Republic Records. Rusty Shackelford has a TH-cam playlist that includes all of her videos, including TikTok and Instagram. I have a playlist of currently 109 of her videos which are approaching 100,000 views (Angelina Jordan Playlist by Terry M.)
You're a fan aren't you 😉 As becomes every person who listens to her......I only found her recently and have been working my way through her songs. She is unique and incredible, I am grateful this talent has come during my lifetime.
Norwegian born Angelina Jordan began singing at the age of one and a half, and by age three was listening to jazz and classics legends on repeat. Her grandmother was her greatest influence, but Angelina chose her own path. Her first studio performance was at age 7, singing I Who Have Nothing. She won Norway's Got Talent at the age of only 8, singing old time classics from Billie Holliday and George Gershwin, and became the youngest ever vocalist to win an international Got Talent Show! Her performance at 9 years old of Screamin Jay Hawkins, I Put a Spell on You is considered one of the finest recordings ever of a 9-year-old vocalist! Angelina also went viral on America's Got Talent the champions in 2020 with her unique versions of Bohemian Rhapsody and Goodbye Yellow Brick Road. Angelina sings in English which unbelievably is her third language! She is a true prodigy. She is now 16, and has recorded a huge library of songs, including covers and several originals. A major attraction to Angelina's music is the emotion and attitude she conveys, although she has not experienced the life events! She is known as the barefoot princess of 1,000 voices as she can adjust her tone, style, and register for any song or genre. She was signed by Republic Records almost two years ago. She is not widely promoted yet, however, as her family has decided to wait until she graduates school, so she has a normal childhood. Here is a link from ages 6 to 16 of 106 Angelina chronological TH-cam performances with five originals. m.th-cam.com/play/PL2v8kgVeo4EbYDVnRwObjETfWpXbzbgIO.html Here is a more comprehensive playlist of 180 videos including tiktok and Instagram. th-cam.com/play/PL2v8kgVeo4EbQD6l_WAVjOfItquzW7oEc.html Why does Angelina sing barefoot? The answer may bring a tear to your eye. When she was 6 years old, she was in the Middle East with her mom and grandmother and they came across a young orphan girl with no shoes and scarred feet. Angelina gave the girl her own shoes and has forever performed barefoot as a reminder of all those less fortunate. At age 9 she wrote a book about this experience, Between two Hearts, becoming the youngest ever published author in Norway. She also has helped raise millions for children's charities. She is a special individual, and one you cannot follow without developing an emotional bond. Angelina captures hearts because she is humble and has compassion for humanity. Her stated goal from childhood was to sing for the world and spread love and peace. I trust this will cause you to embrace her as millions of others have, and that you will continue down the rabbit hole from which you will not want to escape. Peace and love. th-cam.com/users/AngelinaJordanOfficial Please remember to include in your description the artist Official Channel as well as the original video, if you have not already done so. It is so beautiful ❤️ So different but the same ❤️ I felt the lyrics came out in a very emotional way to the listener in Angelinas version ❤️ Love the Elvis suit, the Elvis guitar, The Priscilla hairdo ❤️ Just incredible by a 16 year old ❤️ Btw... Angelina is 17 today so happy Birthday to the great AJ 🎉🎂❤️
Suspicious Minds Yeah! She’s something special, isn’t she? Power & Pure Velvet Perfection! This vocal arrangement was all Angelina, I have no doubt in collaboration with a stellar team including Rob Christie & Mery Zamani her Grandmother. She is a Master Storyteller. The video is shot in the same Antique Store that she did 'My Funny Valentine' on Valentine’s Day. I believe it is in LA near her home. I believe the girls in the video represent Angelina's Journey from infancy to present through the classics of music history. Thus the Antique store, She grew up studying and performing these classics. Did you notice that right foot raise it''s heal to cradle the guitar a couple of times in the performance. I was waiting for her to throw in a little shake to it in homage to the King. Could that have been intentional? That is Rob Christie on piano. Si ster Juliette and a couple of Uncle Michael's Babies. I think that makes them cousins not nieces. Full Black Leather Bodysuit, the guitar from his concert in 68 and the hair a homage to Priscilla Presley. Yeah! She can bring tears to your eyes. I base my interpretation on my knowledge of Angelina's journey from an 18 month old little girl singing a "classic" of music history 'I Will Always Love You' . She has been listening to these classics on repeat on YOUTube since then under the guidance and inspiration of her Grandmother Mery Zamani. She has been performing these classics since her first time in studio at 6 yrs old.. She has continued this journey through her 1st introduction to the world with her "Classic'" 'Gloomy Sunday’ and following with her many performances at her many Jazz Festivals, TV performances, Concerts, and charity events, studio recordings and practice sessions at home accompanied or not. The location in the Antique store represents these classics (like the furniture) of another era. To me she portrays wonder at all these classics surrounding her. as she has travelled this road. Her tribute to Elvis is at her present age, today, each stage represented by her cousins and sister and ending with Angelina herself on the couch still admiring all this history surrounding her. The beautiful rendition of the song, and other tributes are in the leather outfit, Guitar and hair a tribute to Priscilla. Just my interpretation but it makes the most sense to me. ♥👣👸🏻
You mentioned Shirley Bassey, so you may be interested to know that there's a video of Angelina performing Diamonds Are Forever live on stage back in Norway when she was 11 or 12. She is also on record as loving Goldfinger.
Congratulations guys you just discovered THE best Vocal Artist on the planet today and in my humble opinion of ANY day. I saw her live in Sandefjord Norway last 10th July and she was incredible guys! She stood on the stage like a humble queen surrounded by stunned fans!. She cried in happiness in front of those fans and thanked them for all the love they gave her. Great reaction guys please enjoy your trip down the Angelina rabbit hole because it is AMAZING.
Angelina does mostly covers but has about half a dozen of her own songs. She has an album coming out later this year. Once again happy 17th birthay Angelina.
Leather suit and red guitar is a tribute to Elvis and the Beehive hairdo is a tribute to Priscilla. Angelina Jordan is a child prodigy, welcome to the journey.
Today is Angelina Jordan’s 17th birthday! She was born and raised in Norway but has been living in Los Angeles for about 5-6 years. She 23:08 has been singing since she was 18 months old. But her breakthrough song was on Norway’s got talent at 7 years old. Check out her version of Gloomy Sunday and compare it to Billie Holiday. Angelina has also covered a few Willie Nelson songs.
Hey Jeff and Sue. I thought chicanery and skullduggery was reserved for the main channel. I'm wrong again, oh well. 🤣 If you were impressed by her voice here at 16, wait until you get to my suggestion of 'I Put a Spell on You' at age 9 (original by Jalacy Hawkins, most known version by Nina Simone). I know it's on your 'to do' list, you took a picture of my request. I seen people say that she has an 'old soul' and I certainly agree with them. She's Norwegian but currently living in L.A. She won Norway's got talent at age 8, and competed on America's Got talent at age 13. Happy Birthday to Angelina, she turns 17 tomorrow Jan 10.🎉
Angelina is the real deal. She is easily the most accomplished child vocalist of all time. As talented as Angelina is, she is an even better person, humble and filled with empathy. Please take the time to read the biography I compiled for, IMO, the greatest singer storyteller and the most emotional vocalist of my 74 years. Born Angelina Jordan Astar on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway to her Norwegian mother, Sara Astar and her Swedish father, Gerry Christian Slattman. Angelina started singing around 18 months of age, after listening to Whitney Houston on TH-cam. She quickly became obsessed with listening to music videos and her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani got Angelina interested in classic jazz. Mery Zamani is Iranian and was a prodigy as an artist and poet while growing up in Iran. Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where starting around age 4, she had training in music but no vocal training. Her teachers were smart enough to not attempt to change what she was doing vocally. More recently she along with her grandmother have designed and made the clothing she wears on stage. Why Angelina always performs barefoot At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East. Angelina, at age 6 and 7, did record a few songs in a recording studio at her school, most notably “I Who Have Nothing”, a truly remarkable performance for a 7 year old. At age 7, Angelina’s audition on Norway’s Got Talent, was a cover of Billie Holiday’s “Gloomy Sunday”, a song which was banned by a number of European countries during World War II because authorities worried the song would increase the suicide rate. Truly bizarre that this is the song to launch the career of a child musical prodigy. One of the judges on NGT cried. Angelina had turned 8 years old for her next performance on NGT, covering Billie Holiday’s “I’m a Fool to Want You” singing acapella which was required by NGT unless the singer also played an instrument while singing. This was the Judge’s cut round of the competition and was not performed in front of an audience. In the Semi Final round of NGT, Angelina sang “Bang Bang” which was written by Sonny Bono and was first performed by his wife Cher but is best known sung by Nancy Sinatra. The improvement in each performance is incredible even though there were only a couple months between them. In the Finals, Angelina did a cover of George Gershwin’s, “Summertime” and won the contest, capturing 46% of the votes from the ten finalists. When asked what she would like to do with the prize money she won (500,000 kroner or about $80,000), Angelina replied, “I want to give it to the poor children”. Angelina had become a star in her native Norway and her videos on TH-cam went viral. She gave a few concerts during the summer of 2014 while 8 years old. In December 2014, Angelina realized a life-long desire to sing at the Save the Children's Peace Prize Celebration which is part of the Noble Peace Prize celebration. Angelina’s family took her to United States, Brazil, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Russia, South Korea, Singapore among other corners of Earth, to perform for heads of state and to help raise money for charity. All before Angelina turned 14. At age 9, Angelina recorded a music video covering the 1956 Jay Hawkin’s classic, “I Put a Spell On You”. The video begins by showing Angelina writing her “wishes” for how she wants to perform the song. Angelina has always created her own arrangements for her cover songs. At age 10 and just a week before her 11th birthday, Angelina recorded a demo of “I’m Still Holding Out for You”. Her family never pursued having that recording officially released but someone leaked it on a TH-cam video. Thankfully, everyone involved with that song is now ok with the leaked version. Many angels (fans) believe this is one of Angelina’s best performances. When Angelina was 11, she performed a number of concerts in Norway with a jazz/rock band. Those concerts included up to 14 songs, each remarkably performed. Angelina seems to be at her best when on stage, never nervous, only 100% confident. Also at age 11, Angelina recorded her “It’s Magic” album which has, at times, been in the top 10 best selling jazz albums. On June 27, 2018, at age 12, Jordan performed “Fly Me to the Moon” for Quincy Jones in The O2 Arena in London. She has said that was the high point of her young career which was already in it’s 6th year. During 2018, Angelina lost her paternal grandfather, her friend Avicii and one of her idols, Aretha Franklin. She did a moving tribute for each. In 2019, Angelina accepted an invitation to compete in the 2nd season of America’s Got Talent (AGT), The Champions. She had, since age 3, wanted to perform for Simon Cowell and she earned his praise with her genius arrangement of “Bohemian Rhapsody”. The surviving members of Queen loved it so much they put a link to it on their Twitter. Angelina was eliminated after covering Elton John’s “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road”. Angelina’s family refused to sign any agreement with AGT that would give Simon any control over her career. Angelina, before age 14, had covered more than 130 songs from 80 different artists, spanning at least 8 genres, all of which are available on TH-cam. Angelina has always made changes to each song she covers and often her version is preferred over the original. On TH-cam, search on The Complete Works of Angelina Jordan as Rusty Shackleford has put all songs in one file and has a complete playlist in the description of that video. The pandemic hit shortly after her performances on AGT and likely caused a change of plans by her family, most notably her Uncle Michael who is her manager. Her family agreed to a contract with Republic Records in August 2020. Republic Records declared Angelina Jordan their highest priority new artist. Reportedly her family requested Republic to allow her as normal a childhood as possible and therefore have yet to fully promote her. During the pandemic, Angelina was often seen buying meals for the homeless on the streets of Los Angeles. In November 2020, Angelina released “Million Miles” which she wrote after the passing of her beloved maternal grandfather. She dedicated the song to anyone who has ever lost a loved one. Angelina had previously released, 3 other original songs: “What is Life”, “Oslo” and “Shield” In April 2021, her original “7th Heaven” was released. A jazzy, danceable, inspiring song. Angelina has posted numerous short performances on Tik Tok and Instagram. Angelina had concerts in Norway in July 2022. Personally, Angelina as a great human being and her music came into my life when I needed it most. Her music has improved the quality of my life more than I can express. I now introduce her to as many people as I can, with the hope her music will do the same for others. We know once her family believes the time is right and allows Republic Records to fully promote her, she will become the superstar she has always dreamt and believed she would be. I encourage others to use this biography to help educate others about the love, empathy, magic and beauty that is Angelina Jordan Astar and her unique music. Andy
The pianist Rob Christie (music studio director of Republic Records distribution of UMG, two-time Grammy winner) changed the musical arrangement and Angelina changed the vocal arrangement, but she didn't change the lyrics. Angelina changes the lyrical structure starting with the bridge and gives the song a different meaning than Felton Jarvis and Mark James , Angelina version absolutely fits the lyric better. Once again, many people don't hear and understand the song until Angelina tells the story. 💯 *AJ* 💯👣 The producer Felton Jarvis from Elvis Presley cleverly covered this *Mark James song from 1968 in 1969* , Elvis' last #1 hit in the US and #7 of his most successful songs. Felton Jarvis took the original country arrangement completely from Mark James and pushed the song with more speed and additional instruments (wind instruments, violin etc.) and a spectacular backing choir (in the studio version).
To be that young and still pay tribute to Elvis(the leather outfit) Priscilla (the hair) and Elvis' bandmates (the outfit of the pianist), shows she is a very special young lady. Enjoy your journey of listening to her.
Hi guys, nice that you took a peek down Angelina's rabbit hole. You are at the very beginning and I hope you continue on your journey because there is a lot to discover, she is the best singer in the world (my opinion) but you will find out for yourself and believe me you become just as addicted to her voice as all other fans (angels), she is also called the barefoot angel with 1000 voices, why she always performs barefoot is another story, she can adapt and improve her voice to every song and also transport many emotions and not only does it have around 170 covers but also 5 originals which are all amazing and legendary even now and there is a lot to tell, i look forward to more reactions and have subscribed to you now, greetings from germany
Welcome to Angelina Jordan Astar, IMO one of the greatest artists i have ever heard and I have been a fan of any genre of music longer than i care to say, as long as it is done well. This young lady is going to dominate the music industry as her journey in the music industry is just starting even tho she has been giving us so much already. I would suggest listening to Angelina performing Feeling Good at 10 years of age live on the stream gir tilbake. Goldfinger actually was released in 1964. enjoy discovering this young lady.
Happy Birthday Angelina! Welcome to “The World Of Angelina Jordan Astar” (full name). “The Barefoot Princess With The Velvet Voice And A Mona Lisa Smile”. Born Jan 10, 2006 in Oslo Norway. From her audition on Norway’s Got Talent (2014 - age 7 - Gloomy Sunday "Billy Holiday") through the final on America’s Got Talent The Champions (2020 - age 13 - Goodbye Yellow Brick Road "Sir Elton John") and the 130+ videos in between you will not be disappointed. This includes three originals song: “What Is Life”, “Oslo” and “Shield” Since then she has done many new covers and now her new singles "Million Miles" and “7th Heaven”, along with her movie soundtrack "Mercy" from the motion picture “The Hating Game”. As well as her brilliant version of Elvis’s “Suspicious Mind”. My personal favorite is her cover of Lana Del Rey's "Born To Die". Although “Mercy” is really growing on me. Angelina is also the youngest published author in Norway. Angelina wrote and her Grandmother illustrated a book about why she sings barefoot. She was on a trip to Iran where her grandmother is from and met a street girl weighing people for money. Angelina sat and talked with the girl. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, a doctor but that it could never happen. Angelina told her to never give up hope. The girl complimented Angelina on her shoes and Angelina noticed her scarred bare feet so she gave them to her, and the little girl told Angelina she would pray for her every day. Angelina sings barefoot to this day to remind herself (and the world) that there are still children in need. All book proceeds go to charity
As I once commented on another reaction channel with man and wife ("bride") that she is on track, but he is a bit sidetracked... Anyway, you came a bit late into the vocal stream. I have been watching and listening to this young lady for four years now, and I was late when I started. I will be 80 years old next Groundhog's Day, and I have never heard a singer, male or female, who could bring me to tears singing old (and new original) songs the way she does. She began singing at the age of 1 1/2 and the rest is history. She will be 17 years old tomorrow, January 10th. She can sing in many genres with the same effect: she uncovers the emotional content of the lyrics and she almost always makes the song her own. Enjoy her while you can, I wish I could live long enough to experience her rise to super stardom. She is an Angel and so are her fans...each and every one!
Wife in pink headphones becames an angel midway through her first song...You aint seen nothing yet. You got 10 years of songs from Angelina. 170+ to choose. Covers and originals done in her own arrangement. Glad you guys got to meet the future Queen of Music. Currently they are preparing her throne as we speak.
Funny stuff. I appreciate your humor. I’m a lot older than you young-in’s(73). I watched Elvis first appearance on the Ed Sullivan show about 1956? I was earring my lunch in my 66 Corvette when they came over the radio that Elvis had died. This song was recorded by him in 1969 and was his last #1 hit. Angelina is Norwegian and speaks at least 4 languages. She won Norways Got Talent in 2014 age 8, and turned 17 this week 1/10/23. She does all her own arraigning and also has several original songs. Republic records brought her on board age 14 and after she graduates HS this spring her first album with them will be released. She has around 200 videos to check out so just pick any song you like and hold on to your socks! Thanks from Alaska
Angelina’s voice and her total being is like an ocean wave or soft summer breeze that takes you in and rushes you to places you have rarely experienced. Your heart rate increases, you find it difficult to catch your breath, chills and shells engulf you. You are now addicted to Angelina Jordan. This coming from a guy that is 74 and has experienced the best vocalists in the world, but none have captured that soft spot like Angelina Jordan does each and every time.
This is her tribute to Elvis,, from the black leather and red guitar from his 68 comeback tour, the sing it self he charted in 69 the beehive hairdo of Percilla the 3 little girls (AJs cousins, and the older girl is AJs little sister, Juliette) representing Lisa Marie growing up, the glitz and glamor of the setting to represent Graceland, the blue suede shoes and her grandma produced this and Rob Christy played the piano with his rendition of this
Angelina's fans are very devoted because of her character. If you learn more about her, you'll probably figure it out, but I just wanted to give you a heads up. Thanks for the reaction. See you next time. : )
I like the back-to-back format with the original singer's rendition and Angelina's cover. It gives perspective on how a YOUNG GIRL interprets the original songwriter's and singer's intentions. Am subscribing. Having your significant other is always entertaining, especially the back & forth of a typical married couple. Sometimes, the back and forth is just as entertaining as the reaction itself. Rock on. Aloha
The Roland 808 was a drum machine in the late 80’s that was widely used in rap music because of the distinctive kick drum sound I owned one but I didn’t use it much as it didn’t fit the style I was going for at the time
Our tiny little girl with the grownup voice was 17 on Jan. 10, 23 and is now 6'1" tall and could be a super model, but I hope the major portion of her career will be dedicated to her music and taking the world to a better place. I don't think she even realizes this power she holds over us and the need to hear that signature voice to fill that empty void within all of us. Angelina Jordan is in fact the "Benchmark" for all other vocalist to try as they might to achieve.
Great reaction, with both of you! She has 179 Covers in her 185 song catalog, from age 6 until age 16. She just turned 17 on the 10th of this month, so hopefully new stuff is coming soon. Republic Records did say her Album is dropping this year, God Bless!
Absolutely amazing arrangement and performance by the Viking from Norway Angelina is so talented and special, the first two little girls in the video are Angelina’s cousins her managers children, production from Angelina’s Grandma who is a famous Iranian artist, pianist is award winning Rob Christie the musical director of Republic Records who Angelina signed with age14 years old, love how Angelina pays tribute to Elvis with her black outfit and red guitar 🎸 and Pricilla Presley hair style, Cover of a Cover as the original artist Mark James who wrote and recorded Suspicious Minds didn’t achieve with his original, then Elvis covered the song and it was a hit, great reaction thanks 🙏
Welcome to AJ's world. I am sure you will be fully informed by other AJ fans who are prepared to provide you with her background, so I will not go into that. Elvis first burst on the scene when I was 6 years younger than AJ is now. While I have a great love for most music, I have never been a fan of anyone until 3 years ago when, quite by accident, I stumbled on AJ, at age 13, singing Bohemian Rhapsody at AGT the Champions. That initial experience made me curious and I explored her other videos going back to the age of 6..... and even earlier. Hours went by like they were minutes and I became totally hooked by her talent, stage charm, confidence and innate beauty. I have listened to her at least daily since then, and even travelled to Norway from the USA last July to attend one of her first concerts since the onset of the pandemic. It was stunning to listen and observe in person. I hope you continue to react to her life's work.
I will always prefer Elvis’ original recordings to covers no one can compare to his legacy. Totally respect AJ talent and appreciation for Elvis though not my cup of tea to be honest. Beautiful young lady. Keep making your music reaching your dreams.
-Who is Angelina Jordan - Angelina is a Norwegian born child prodigy in music. She's a singer/ songwriter who's arranged over 180 covers and 5 originals, all since the age of 7. Angelina began singing at 18 months old. At 2, she began teaching herself how to sing, focusing primarily on the jazz masters of decades gone by. These are artists such as Billie Holiday, Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, and Etta James. She's also influenced by Amy Winehouse, Frank Sinatra, Whitney Houston, and Adele, to name a few. She's also been said to be the girl of 1,000 voices. Yet even though we can hear the phrasing and style she puts in the songs, it's always Angelina that we hear. At 7 years old, she auditioned for Norway's Got Talent. She was the last to audition. The judges had no idea who she was or what she could do. They saw a diminutive mussy haired, barefooted girl with her teeth still growing in. For her audition, she performed "Gloomy Sunday" from Billie Holiday. On TV-2, they've reported over 14 million views of this performance. This does not take into account the many hundreds of reactors showing this audition to millions more. Needless to say, Angelina went on to win the 2014 season of NGT shortly after her 8th birthday. The family was bombarded with requests for performances, interviews, and record label offers. They turned down 90% of the requests, as they insisted that Angelina should enjoy a normal childhood. That didn't stop Angelina from performing at select engagements around the world, singing for Heads of State, and even Barack Obama. She's spent time and worked with musicians such as Quincy Jones and Alan Walker. She first appeared on American television, The View, at 8 years old. Angelina auditioned for America's Got Talent The Champions at 13 years old. She made it just up to the final selection of the final 5 when she dropped from the competition. It wasn't that she wasn't good enough to be in the final 5, but it was because she refused to sign with an AGT affiliated label, should she win. She knew very well what production hungry labels could do to her music. She even turned down Disney. At 14, Angelina signed with Republic Records. Republic gave her complete artistic control as well as control over the performances she would make. Angelina is now 16 and lives in LA. She turns 17 on January 10, 2023, and will graduate from high school after the spring semester. From then on, she will embark on her full-time professional career. She's been working closely with Republic on her first album under their label. It's likely that it will drop shortly after her graduation. There's something that you will immediately pick up on when watching Angelina's performances. She never performs with shoes on. - The Barefoot Princess - Why does Angelina sing barefooted? Angelina Jordan is known as "The Barefoot Princess" or "The Barefoot Princess of Jazz," amongst many other names. She always performs barefooted, whether in front of a live audience or during a studio performance. The story is that while living in the Middle East, at age 6, Angelina came across an orphaned girl, of her own age, sitting in the street, weighing people on a bathroom scale to earn money. Angelina said to herself, "I would like to share her life for one second to know what it is like to sit alone, wet, and damp, and barefoot in a corner of the street." Angelina could see the girl's bare feet were scarred and that it was cold outside, so she offered her own shoes to the girl. Little Angelina says that she really loved her shoes, as they were very nice and she knew she would miss them. But she saw the other little girl’s need for them, which outweighed her own desire to keep them. So she insisted the little girl take them. Angelina called her Princess, even though the girl said she didn't live in a castle, but the ruins of a building next to where she sat. After sharing their hopes and dreams, the little girl said of Angelina's wish to sing for the world, "You will become the one you dream of and when your dreams come true you, have to remember the poor children without shoes; and I will pray for you Angelina.” Later that day 6 y/o Angelina wrote in her diary, "The world is very strange. Right then and there, I felt as if a door in my heart opened up, and it was filled with lots of lights. It was as if there was, from Earth to Heaven, a staircase. I climbed the stairs. To be able to do something for another human - it was such a big thing…hard to describe really.” From that point on, Angelina takes off her shoes, in honor of ‘Princess’ and all the other less fortunate children of the world, who are orphaned, hungry, or in want of even basic clothing. In 2015, at the age of 9, Angelina wrote a book about the encounter, as everyone continued to ask why she sang barefoot. Her grandmother, Mery Zamani, created the artwork for the book. So at 9, Angelina Jordan became the youngest published author in Norway. Angelina has performed alongside many other artists, raising attention and helping to raise over 21 million euros and millions of dollars for children in need.
Lovely reaction. You've got over 180 covers and 5 originals to choose from, so there's a journey ahead for you. I've given you the links for Angelina's performances for Norway's Got Talent 2014 (more backstory in the following comment). Of the 4 NGT performances, only NGT 1 and the final, NGT 4, have English subtitles or closed captions. I recommend playing all of NGT 1, where she sang Billie Holiday's arrangement of "Gloomy Sunday." For NGT 4, "Summertime," Angelina performed in the style of Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong. This final video has 4 segments. The first is a spotlight on Angelina. I recommend watching this because you get to hear Angelina talking about herself. She's so young that her legs can only stick straight out as she sits and speaks to us. The second segment is the actual final performance. The third segment has the judges sharing their experiences and the feelings she's generated in them throughout the 2014 season. I highly recommend listening to these, as their words were quite powerful as well as prophetic. You just don't hear judges on any other Got Talent speak with this level of engagement. The fourth segment contains the naming of the 3 highest performing artist(s) being named. This follows with Angelina being named the victor. This last segment lasts for a little over 5 minutes, so I've seen some include and others not. NGT 1 - "GLOOMY SUNDAY" (pre/post performance English subtitles) - th-cam.com/video/d3gSho9yf88/w-d-xo.html NGT 2 - "I'M A FOOL TO WANT YOU" (sung in acapella) - th-cam.com/video/LXknLZDoRVQ/w-d-xo.html (How does she maintain pitch and tone without any backing track?) NGT 3 - "BANG BANG" - th-cam.com/video/cSEO3IMVtCI/w-d-xo.html NGT 4 - "SUMMERTIME" (spotlights Angelina, pre/post performance, winning NGT, and has English CC) - th-cam.com/video/zN4kAof1is0/w-d-xo.html
She is well connected and been the guest and request of some of the biggest names in the industry, like Quincy Jones to name one. She is a singer's singer. You'll see how extremely versed and adaptable she is. Enjoy the ride
These are two very different songs. They are incomparable. AJ will hit the music industry with a bang this year when her first CD for Republic comes out.
Hi Anothercoverlover, thanks a billion for this reaction to Angelina Jordan's cover of "Suspicious Minds". I know, even Angelina wrote it is an Elvis-Cover - but in fact Elvis did also a cover of this song: Originary it is from Mark James (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suspicious_Minds) ;-) And here links to Mark James singing Suspicious Minds: Audio only: th-cam.com/video/mFP0EP-Oi2I/w-d-xo.html and Live in TV: th-cam.com/video/r2Ip_3tdpBk/w-d-xo.html. Stay well and healthy, best regards from Berlin/Germany Andreas Oh, and because it's your first reaction to Angelina Jordan .... even if you already got some comments with good information allow me sending you my "standard firsties comment" (SFC) - maybe you can find some for you new information in it ;-) … ... (because of length limits in YT-comments my SFC follows in the next comment 😏)…
Angelina has over 150 covers & some originals- she lives in LA & is signed with Republic Records. She is a jazz prodigy, studying & singing jazz at the age of 1 1/2 yrs. old. She won Norways Got Talent at the age of 7 when she sang 4 jazz songs. 🌀
Angelina Jordan arguably brings the most confident, versatile, seemingly effortless, and fearless vocal artistry found today (whether measured across artists, genres, or decades). You may think this an exaggeration but listen to a few more of her many performances (160+ covers plus original songs - all on YT) and you will see! She has been performing at a high level all over the world since age 8 when she won Norway's Got Talent singing Billie Holiday, Nancy Sinatra, and Gershwin. It is the rare singer that can, as Angelina has done, go from Queen to "Screamin" Jay Hawkins to Adele to Elvis to Whitney Houston to Michael Jackson to Etta James to James Brown to Amy Winehouse to the Beatles (and many others in between) and do them all justice! She especially reimagines her covers of Bohemian Rhapsody, Yesterday, and Billie Jean just to name a few. But listen to anything, you can't go wrong! If you want to hear music, listen to anyone. If you want to feel music, listen to Angelina. She will stagger you with her ability to find and bring forth the 'essence', the emotional message of nearly any song. You have far to go with Angelina. She is equally comfortable and equally able to impact us whether singing a cappella, accompanied only by a piano or guitar, in front of professional studio musicians or a 40-piece military band. With her immense vocal toolkit, arranging ability (yeah, that too, since about 8yo or so) and the work ethic to make what she does only 'seem' effortless, she will hopefully be touching hearts for a long time to come. Why God has performed the miracle of touching the world with one of such talent, musical IQ, commitment, and generosity as Angelina we can wonder but we must all marvel. Welcome aboard the AJ train! Please react to more of her impressive library.
I love this version of Suspicious Minds. I'm not a huge Elvis fan (bit before my time) but remember the fine young cannibals version - but Angelina's opening verse just hits you in the chest. She totally switches the feel of the song & I love it. A small selection of covers that she completely rearranged & are mind blowing are: Bohemian Rhapsody (13 preformed at AGT Champions) Goodbye Yellow Brick Road (13) I Put A Spell On You (9) And her own song in tribute to her grandfather: Million Miles (black & white live studio version)
Well you stumbled over a cover artist that sing those good well known classics in a different way, no copy, but paying homage to the original artist. She is from Norway and won NGT (Norway Got Talent) in 2014. I saw it live and voted for her win and she was only turned 8. She got 46% of all given votes in the final. Reason she sing barefoot is she gave a poor girl her shoes since the poor girl didnt have any. They promised to remember each other and the poor girl promised to pray for Angelina. Angelina did this at 6 years of age. After that all performances are barefooted to remind people of the less fortunate ones in the world. She will surprise you in a good way on every cover (she got 140+) and she turned 17 yesterday. I hope you know "I Put A Spell On You" by Screaming Jay Hawkins (done by Hocus Pocus, Nina Simone etc.) and do the black/white version. She got some good originals as well. You got a new subscriber from Norway and i will be back for next one. Great reaction!
I don't think it's a good idea to joke about Angelina's music. You listen to an epic song and you talk about hairstyles. If you watch this video carefully, you will recognize this many symbols if you can. 👣💯 *AJ* 💯
@@Anothercoverlover62 But even with the covers where she sticks _very_ close to the original arrangement, she just sings them _so friggin' well_ that it odesn't matter that she's not "changing it up" a lot. (IMO, of course.)
Love the format! She has an incredible amount of cover videos available to review. Amazing journey if you pursue her story. Btw, bees come out those hairdos not spiders. 😮
Hahahaha!! Thanks Robert, beehive hairdo is the best! I offended a few people with the spiders comment, I just said it to be silly…not disparaging I’m so glad you like the format! I hope you will look at some of my other videos
You have discovered a true gem here. Angelina has done many covers that I’m sure you will be familiar with. I look forward to your journey. I have subscribed to enjoy the ride along with you. You have many choices and you can’t go wrong with any of them. Thanks.
Angelina's entire video is filled with tributes to Elvis, Priscilla and Graceland and you guys managed to miss every one of them. The blue suede shoes. The leather outfit. The red Hagstrom Viking guitar. The beehive hairdo. The 50's style microphone. The child growing up into a beautiful women. The red chair. The ornate chandeliers and home furnishings. The piano player wearing a red jumpsuit. Those are the obvious ones. There are many others that are more subtle.
I’m sorry Neal but I’ve never really cared for Elvis so I wouldn’t know what to look for :( One of my closest friends however would’ve picked up on all of those. That song and the cover was asked for by one of my earlier subscribers,
I love that you compare the original with the cover. I do wish you done the live version of Elvis singing this just because his energy and dancing is so cool and because her version is so slowed down and perfect for her. Also, I think Elvis is just always better performing for an audience. He thrived on that energy.
Love the format. Maybe more violence, she should probably hit you more often. But that was great. Angelina is so phenomenal, it's stupid really. Take your pick, out of over a hundred. I like when people prefer songs they know, then you know they are feeling that choice that day and it works out better content wise. But for sure, there are also some you just can't miss out on.
angelina is somewhat a prodigy... my favorite cover by her is definitely bohemian rhapsody by queen performed on AGT here: th-cam.com/video/fJ9rUzIMcZQ/w-d-xo.html. something uniquely emotional about that performance. the original queen version is here: th-cam.com/video/fJ9rUzIMcZQ/w-d-xo.html
You guys are very different but enjoyable. I left you a playlist for Angelina in a separate comment but I'd like to recommend a couple of other covers for you. 1.Eva Cassidy... Tragically she passed away in 1996 at the age of only 33 from cancer, but has a legendary voice. Her version of Over the Rainbow is considered one of the best ever recorded. 2. Foxes and Fossils... A phenomenal cover band that does a lot of the older music. Their Crosby stills Nash & Young versions of Suite Judy Blue Eyes and Carry On will be the best covers you've ever heard of these. Harmonies on steroids! Peace.
Did you know that Angelina plays the piano, flute, guitar, and violin and also paints and sings in 5 different languages and was the youngest author in Norway with her story of why she wears no shoes during performances?
@@Anothercoverlover62 The basic story is in some of the other comments here. Just keep reading them. In fact, you'll probably get a version of that story in the comments under almost every AJ reaction you do. Someday you might even hear the story from her own mouth - there are a few such videos out there. And the most interesting of them will be recommended to you, eventually…🙂
Your volume seemed fine to me, today. I enjoyed your reaction very much. Anjelina's hair was a tribute to Priscilla Presley, and to Amy Winehouse. She seems to love it that way, because she wore a beehive in her concerts in Norway in 2022.
You two are funny! But on a serious note, I think we will hear a lot of this talented young lady in the future.
Thanks for sharing.
Angelina turns 17 today, date january 10th. Happy Birthday to to her, our beautiful angel
Happy 17th Birthday Angelina.
Thank you Diane!! That you like the format is encouraging!!! Please check out more of my videos
Oh, you have done it now. Get ready, Angelina's rabbit hole is deep, there is no escape but it is damn comfortable down here. Next, try Angelina's cover of Screaming Jay Hawkins' 'I Put A Spell On You'. Watch her black and white studio version.
I have seen both Elvis and AJ live on stage - the two greatest artists of our time !!!
It is her 17. birthday today! 🎄🍾🥂
Tomorrow. January 10.
@@billywoods9192 The magic of the internet.... in some places it is now January 10!

Most meandering reaction I’ve ever seen.
Ha!! True Nick:) I’m trying to get better
When you went on about her hair, I was like, "Have you looked in the mirror?" 😂
Nice reaction to what many of us feel is the best vocalist in the world!
Full marks to you, Sue, for trying so hard to keep him focused.
Thanks Albert! He’s a piece of work!
Sue
Angelina is a Norwegian citizen. She is currently living LA. She signed with Republic Records in August of 2020. She has a catalogue of approximately 180 and original and cover songs. She was six years old when she had her first studio recording session. You can check out her six year old cover of “I Who Have Nothing”.

Wow! 6 yr old recording artist. I like it. Yeah, she is something special.
You Should react to Angelina singing "I'd rather go blind." Sitting on her blue couch.
Hi there congratulation you just found the best voice current - and i have also a message for her... -
dear Angelina - today you turn 17 - i saw you grew up from a miracle to a world force as of today - i will listen to your music until i have to leave - you have made me tear up a lot more than all pain and injuries in my teen-time but i love it - maybe you remember this white hair guy July 10 last year straight at the stage border of your concert in Sandefjord wearing a T-Shirt with your face and the sentence "58 year old fanboy" - i cant wear it again because i also turned a year more... hope to see you soon somewhere in Europe again listen to your coming Album Originals - maybe you can place "unchained melody" in your program because i do love your Cover of it so much - happy birthday and that your wishes come true - a big hug to you and your family from Germany
Hi JoJo: I remember you at Sandefjord! R (Australia)
@@branscombeR Hi there do i have your sign in my Angie book? the Fanclub members signed in my hardcopy of Angelinas book
He felt it was a confusing time for him and that all three were "caught in this trap that they could not walk out of."
Other singers covering this song invariably base their performance on that of Elvis, in that it is very "upbeat".
What a beautiful tribute to the King.
Agreed!
Angelina Jordan!😉 She’s awesome!👍🏼🎼🤗
Thank you! The best young female artist just 17 years old today "IMO" - Angelina sings better than already established world stars. No one can stop Angelina from becoming a world star. That's just how it is! Her first album will be released in 2023 with Republic Records.
ANGELINA JORDAN and you will never regret it. Recommend the "I put a spell on you" Black and white version. Or how about "Bohemian Rhapsody".
Her hair is like Priscilla Presley’s bee hive. 🤗
First I thought you are familiar with the Elvis Area 🙂.But you don't know Prescilla and her hairstyle,🤔
There's a lot of hints for the comeback of Elvis in this Video.
If you haven’t already reacted to her latest studio of Whitney Houston's version you should - here’s the link - th-cam.com/video/iX0g99jN26U/w-d-xo.html
🙂
Below is a list of my recommendations for doing reactions to Angelina Jordan.
1. For the initial shock you should start with ‘I Put A Spell On You’ She was 9 years old when she did this. The link for this song is - th-cam.com/video/nwFloCPXzCs/w-d-xo.html
2. The next song you should react to is an Elvis cover ‘Suspicious Minds’ - th-cam.com/video/RTbKhkceR00/w-d-xo.html - this will show you how her voice and presence has developed.
3. To follow her growth react to the following songs in order:
At age 6 - ‘I Who Have Nothing’ her first time in a studio - th-cam.com/video/RjQZKBpVaes/w-d-xo.html
At age 7 - 8; Norway's Got Talent - th-cam.com/video/d3gSho9yf88/w-d-xo.html
At age 8 ‘What A Difference A Day Makes’ -th-cam.com/video/ZSfgCIGd7k4/w-d-xo.html
At age 10 ‘Feeling Good’ - th-cam.com/video/p8kAL-sGJx8/w-d-xo.html
At age 11 ‘I’m A Fool To Want You’ - th-cam.com/video/SGx0djXTXQk/w-d-xo.html She also did this during Norway’s Got Talent, but she did it A Capella.
At age 12 There are two songs of note here:
‘Shield’ which is one of here originals - th-cam.com/video/lQtUbVKb0vs/w-d-xo.html
She was invited to perform at Quincy Jones’ 85th birthday in London she sang what is sort of her anthem (she has sung throughout the years many times). This is the rehearsal for the show but it is excellent, it is number two on my playlist. - th-cam.com/video/OMkwoqUNNkE/w-d-xo.html
At Age 13 she performed two songs on America’s Got Talent - and one other song of note -
‘I Have Nothing’ is a tribute to Whitney Houston - th-cam.com/video/eTcvvO6B3Io/w-d-xo.html
On AGT ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ for which she got the Golden Buzzer - th-cam.com/video/qF0JV28vgLw/w-d-xo.html
On AGT ‘Goodbye Yellow Brick Road’ in the finals - th-cam.com/video/4XOMskgN8w4/w-d-xo.html - but she didn’t win. A lot of people are upset about that, but I think it’s the best thing that happened for her.
At Age 16 she has three new covers.
The newest and the best is an Elvis cover ‘Suspicious Minds’ - th-cam.com/video/RTbKhkceR00/w-d-xo.html
She has released a new version of I Have Nothing - th-cam.com/video/iX0g99jN26U/w-d-xo.html - which is probably the best song she has done so far.
The other is ‘My Funny Valentine - th-cam.com/video/bWiLOnHJYxg/w-d-xo.html
She has done several Adel covers and one other song of note - ‘Million Miles’ - th-cam.com/video/3KxvwuZ7oEM/w-d-xo.html - this is an original that she wrote in honor of her grandfather after he passed away.
You're a fan aren't you 😉
As becomes every person who listens to her......I only found her recently and have been working my way through her songs.

Why does Angelina sing barefoot?

Thank you for this. I subbed before Elvis was done, love your energy together
Welcome Me!!
Suspicious Minds
Yeah!
Glad you two liked her ! Go Angelina !!!!!
Thank you!!
You mentioned Shirley Bassey, so you may be interested to know that there's a video of Angelina performing Diamonds Are Forever live on stage back in Norway when she was 11 or 12. She is also on record as loving Goldfinger.
She was 11.
Thanks Alan!! I’ll check it out
Congratulations guys you just discovered THE best Vocal Artist on the planet today and in my humble opinion of ANY day.
Blessings to you both! More Angelina JORDAN please....
If you were impressed by her voice here at 16, wait until you get to my suggestion of 'I Put a Spell on You' at age 9 (original by Jalacy Hawkins, most known version by Nina Simone).
Yo Chris
I did “I put a spell on you” and it’s set to release either Friday or Saturday
Thanks for watching my friend!
@@Anothercoverlover62 Awesome, looking forward to it.
Why Angelina always performs barefoot
At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money.
Angelina had previously released, 3 other original songs: “What is Life”, “Oslo” and “Shield”
In April 2021, her original “7th Heaven” was released.
Happy 17th Birthday to Angelina Jordan, the best female vocalist of our time! Thanks for the reaction guys!
Thank you Pete!!
This tumb up goes to your wife that was listening.
Thank you Harald!!
Goldfinger actually was released in 1964. enjoy discovering this young lady.
welcome to Angelinas magical world ..and that intro with Elvis was amazing
She put a spell on you when you listen to her singing \ I put a spell on you when she is 7 years old, just amazing. The best singer in this planet!!!!
Thank you Alan!! I didn’t know the shoes story!! I love it and her heart!
Right on Phillip! You’ll live to see it brother I’m convinced!!!
Yes!!
You just happened onto my favorite singer of all time. There are around 170 videos or more of Angelina out there so enjoy your discovery!
Rock on. Aloha
Ha! We agree!! Thanks Aloha!!
Btw, do you own an 808?
The Roland 808 was a drum machine in the late 80’s that was widely used in rap music because of the distinctive kick drum sound
I owned one but I didn’t use it much as it didn’t fit the style I was going for at the time
Our tiny little girl with the grownup voice was 17 on Jan.
Thanks CS!
I certainly will! Thanks Michael
I will always prefer Elvis’ original recordings to covers no one can compare to his legacy. Totally respect AJ talent and appreciation for Elvis though not my cup of tea to be honest. Beautiful young lady. Keep making your music reaching your dreams.
Thanks S for the encouragement! Been down some due to health problems but Suesue is pulling me through it
God Bless and thanks again!!
-Who is Angelina Jordan -
Angelina is a Norwegian born child prodigy in music.
- The Barefoot Princess -
Why does Angelina sing barefooted?
To be able to do something for another human - it was such a big thing…hard to describe really.”
From that point on, Angelina takes off her shoes, in honor of ‘Princess’ and all the other less fortunate children of the world, who are orphaned, hungry, or in want of even basic clothing.
I recommend playing all of NGT 1, where she sang Billie Holiday's arrangement of "Gloomy Sunday."
For NGT 4, "Summertime," Angelina performed in the style of Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong.
NGT 1 - "GLOOMY SUNDAY" (pre/post performance English subtitles) - th-cam.com/video/d3gSho9yf88/w-d-xo.html
NGT 2 - "I'M A FOOL TO WANT YOU" (sung in acapella) - th-cam.com/video/LXknLZDoRVQ/w-d-xo.html (How does she maintain pitch and tone without any backing track?)
NGT 3 - "BANG BANG" - th-cam.com/video/cSEO3IMVtCI/w-d-xo.html
NGT 4 - "SUMMERTIME" (spotlights Angelina, pre/post performance, winning NGT, and has English CC) - th-cam.com/video/zN4kAof1is0/w-d-xo.html
She is well connected and been the guest and request of some of the biggest names in the industry, like Quincy Jones to name one. She is a singer's singer. You'll see how extremely versed and adaptable she is. Enjoy the ride
These are two very different songs. They are incomparable. AJ will hit the music industry with a bang this year when her first CD for Republic comes out.
you poke me in the eyes, my good eye. I lost it.
♥♥♥
you got my sub with Angelina
Hi Anothercoverlover,
thanks a billion for this reaction to Angelina Jordan's cover of "Suspicious Minds".
I know, even Angelina wrote it is an Elvis-Cover - but in fact Elvis did also a cover of this song: Originary it is from Mark James (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suspicious_Minds) ;-)
And here links to Mark James singing Suspicious Minds:
Audio only: th-cam.com/video/mFP0EP-Oi2I/w-d-xo.html and
Live in TV: th-cam.com/video/r2Ip_3tdpBk/w-d-xo.html.
Stay well and healthy, best regards from Berlin/Germany
Andreas
Oh, and because it's your first reaction to Angelina Jordan ....
even if you already got some comments with good information allow me sending you my "standard firsties comment" (SFC) - maybe you can find some for you new information in it ;-)
…
... (because of length limits in YT-comments my SFC follows in the next comment 😏)…
With your comments about covers, you will really love her version of Bohemian Rhapsody. Completely new reimagining of that classic.
I’ll put it on the list!! Thanks Charles
Hahaha I laughed so hard!!😂😂😂😅❤
I love Elvis range and he had a charming charismatic hold unlike any other. Imho. And Anglina is the same in her own right. Imho.
It sounded good here . Fun reaction 😺
Angelina is my favorite singer storyteller. Her arrangements and vocals are only exceeded by her beauty as a person, filled with love and empathy.
Thank you Andy!
Welcome to the 🌍 of Angelina, the princess of jazz music 🎷 who does not wear shoes 🦶🦶 during her performance and for a very good reason...👑🗣🎙 Enjoy ❤️
I love this version of Suspicious Minds. I'm not a huge Elvis fan (bit before my time) but remember the fine young cannibals version - but Angelina's opening verse just hits you in the chest. She totally switches the feel of the song & I love it.
A small selection of covers that she completely rearranged & are mind blowing are:
Bohemian Rhapsody (13 preformed at AGT Champions)
Goodbye Yellow Brick Road (13)
I Put A Spell On You (9)
And her own song in tribute to her grandfather: Million Miles (black & white live studio version)
Thank you KN!! I do know “I put a spell on you” and if I haven’t already done it I will!
I don't think it's a good idea to joke about Angelina's music. You listen to an epic song and you talk about hairstyles. If you watch this video carefully, you will recognize this many symbols if you can. 👣💯 *AJ* 💯
Didnt see anyone comment that the big hair Angelina was wearing was a nod to the style that Priscilla Presley wore back in the day.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
If you like covers that redefine well known songs, you'll love Angelina:)
I do!!
@@Anothercoverlover62 But even with the covers where she sticks _very_ close to the original arrangement, she just sings them _so friggin' well_ that it odesn't matter that she's not "changing it up" a lot. (IMO, of course.)
I think we had a great cover of this song too my friend
We did brother!! Call me man
Love the format! She has an incredible amount of cover videos available to review. Amazing journey if you pursue her story. Btw, bees come out those hairdos not spiders. 😮
Hahahaha!! Thanks Robert, beehive hairdo is the best! I offended a few people with the spiders comment, I just said it to be silly…not disparaging
I’m so glad you like the format! I hope you will look at some of my other videos
You have discovered a true gem here. Angelina has done many covers that I’m sure you will be familiar with. I look forward to your journey. I have subscribed to enjoy the ride along with you. You have many choices and you can’t go wrong with any of them. Thanks.
Thank you, but focused. more to the artist😊😊
I’m sorry Neal but I’ve never really cared for Elvis so I wouldn’t know what to look for :(
One of my closest friends however would’ve picked up on all of those.
That song and the cover was asked for by one of my earlier subscribers,
Please listen to the lady! 😢
Angel fan here. Try, I Put a Spell On You, AJ's version. In black and white.
Angelina` arranges her own songs and instrumentations.
Amazing!!
Peace.
th-cam.com/video/RTbKhkceR00/w-d-xo.html. This is the link to Angelina’s original video!!
AJ has over 150 TH-cam videos
Thriller - MJ and then Thriller - Dirty Loops and Cory Wong....would be very interesting!
Never heard of the second one but I’ll put it on the list, thanks Miff!
Did you know that Angelina plays the piano, flute, guitar, and violin and also paints and sings in 5 different languages and was the youngest author in Norway with her story of why she wears no shoes during performances?
I knew none of this, Leonardo!! What an impressive young lady!
Why does she not wear shoes during performances?
Thanks Beth!
