  • What happens when you run 51lbs of boost through your turbo v6?
Can it turn a "Street Legal" 1985 Buick T-Type into a 190-200 mph 6-7 second monster? Watch Gene Fleury and his incredible Buick do some shake down runs in his ultimate pursuit of speed as he inches ever closer to the 200 mph/6 second barrier.
    Car Update:
Gene has done some tweaks and upped the boost to his car since I made this video.
I've heard that he has been running 58lbs of boost and has hit 195 mph @ 7.01 seconds.
Inching ever closer to that 200 mph/6 second goal with his Buick v6 :)

Richard Clark's GN (Richard Clark's Garage) hit a bit over 200 in the 6.90's at the 2019 GS Nationals on the very first "shakedown" run. He WILL go faster this May at the 2021 GS Nats. Guaranteed. Last yrs. Nats. was canceled due to track closure (the "virus"). So let's see Gene show up there and go head to head w/Mr. Clark's T-R. I know the feeling. Currently selling 35 years of GN racing spare/race parts, mine and my father’s since 1994 when I was a jr in high school. It’s surprisingly emotional selling this stuff I expected to pass down. The memories of the 90s when my 10.90 “stock” GN dominated anything resembling a street car around here before the V8 guys stopped calling turbos a bandaid and began using them on everything like today. My father had some amazing runs in his show car GN with the 109 at the absolute limit of the “stock” bottom end winning some races with cars featured in well known national mags and going to the 276” Stage II as the competition got faster. The Stage II and trans/rear/fuel/supporting mods were running by 2002 and without a single run and under 50 miles he went to Iraq and the car has sat till a month ago when it was loaded onto an enclosed truck as my parents moved away back to the gulf coast. The move was abrupt and they wanted to sell the car instead of transporting it 2,000 miles. The local legend that left even the biggest trash talkers silent with a confused look on their face, an oddball with a Duttweiler M&A headed 4.5L former show car, no bar or cage or cutting on the low mileage car, too nice to cut but too fast to not cut (told him to put the stage motor in the T with 150,xxx miles) left for good but at least it’s still on the family. I may literally fly out to see it one more time once it’s sold. My highschool GN is getting parted out because I don’t have the money to keep it. Luckily I’m keeping my T and will try to take it to the grave. These cars are special to me. Owning one in the late 90s was an amazing experience. A 12 second car was an extremely quick car. Following the recipes $1,500’would bring a healthy stock GN into the 11s. They were incredibly cheap to go high 10s, sometimes mid 10s. But to go mid 10s and quicker reliably meant a stage motor and the bang for the buck factor diminished. In its time it wasn’t super expensive compared to others but nowadays with a factory stock LS or Coyote with a large turbo and E85 on a good tune capable of 9s the stage II is a bit expensive. Still, I would stay where I am or bite the bullet and go Stage II. If nothing else it was worth it for the looks in my fathers car the couple tunes it was driven with that engine. Idle sounds like a big cam large V8. But when the rpms come up and it cleans up, right back to sounding like a 6. it even surprised me with how mean and choppy the idle is and then the V6 sound. Go a little more and the whistle tells you it’s a turbo 6, 4.5l of it. Sorry for the wall of text, can’t space right now. And for rambling too. Awesome video. Going to look for details now.
