Best airsoft rant around mate, subbed. So many people brag about manufacturer's when in reality the users maintenance and care for the gun is infinitely more impotent.
I'm always an advocate for going for Cyma as a great starting point especially for those getting into it looking for an AK. Of course depending the vendor and model, mileage may vary but if you know someone that can work on it (or yourself if you're experienced) then you can turn it into a great primary. Have two, been through many changes (mostly external) but get a nice mosfet in, some other internal changes like hopup, barrel, maybe new motor and gears if you want to turn it into a speed demon, and you have a great AEG without breaking the bank. Sure you might not have the cool kids stuff but who cares... Doesn't stop some of us, myself included, from wanting one for shits and giggles
I know someone who literally did just what you were complaining about, bought a TM Recoil and swapped out all the parts inside for the "Best [x]", apparently because he saw one that was done by Eagle6 UK. His gun exploded a few days after it was upgraded. He refused to listen to my warnings to leave it stock and that TM guns are bad at handling high FPS setups. Man's now left with a thousand dollars worth of scrap metal and a shell that only takes a proprietary gearbox.
@@Likexner If you want to laugh even more, I know someone else who broke a TM NGRS MK46. Because the idjit who got it, wasn't aware you weren't suppose to run it like a Chinese-made speedsoft gun. Gun wasn't completely totaled (atleast I think it wasn't), but its still hilarious.
i guess in the USA TM is not as populair but i have a scar-l and mp5a5 NGRS right now its all stock except for the spring which gives it 1.2 joules which is our countries maximum and its doing great :3 in the end its about how you use it i also never understood the gear upgrading like if you have a high end AEG the gears are probably good enough my G&G MP5 stock with a gate titan and 11.1v lipo never exploded on me and its pretty much stock except for the gate titan lol. BuT YoU NeEd BeTtEr GeArS I just upgrade what i need incase of my 2 NGRS rifles i only needed a 1.2 joules spring and its perfect. if you go with a poopy JG works you probably need a better bucking and barrel aswell
Just bought a CM028a to upgrade and use as a loaner/backup. With sensible upgrades, mods, and a good clean, I think I can get a great gun for £200 tops that is very reliable.
So true! Full disclosure... I do love my TM recoil *Boo hiss* BUT.. For me its the stop on empty feature I like the most. Really wish other makes would do something similar. The recoil is a gimmick (a nice one... but still) and the semi regular pictures of people cracking the lower receiver etc fills me full of dread. Does pickle my brain when you see upgrade packages in the 4 figures for the ultimate gun when for that price you could literally have a squads worth of AEG's tricked out.
Lol. Being a new back to Airsoft again I did notice that the $500 Krytac would require me to spend money to upgrade when I can just buy a cheap CYMA and spend less money to upgrade.
5 years later I hope his wisdom goes down. I bought a TM recoil and it's a joy to shoot in the beginning, till you realize you can't count on your gun's reliability due to its horrible strained system. TM recoil guns are awful. Mine broke on the second day, had multiple malfunctions that took a full disassembly to fix, and parts of it just flew off sometimes for no apparent reason. Do not by a TM recoil gun. Buy yourself a Cyma, it's actually more reliable. (ik a friend that has one, and he has had zero issues with it owning it for a lot longer than I have owned my TM recoil.

I got a Cyma Platinum and the only parts I needed to change out was the trigger because I broke it running semi-auto every sunday for 8 hours for a year. Swapped out the spring and barrel and hopup later and it still runs well.
Please please do one of these for MTWs, I’m pulling teeth with these coming into the shop with customers thinking they got something that they thought was “the best thing money can buy”
Ok i get it, its overrated as far as performance, quality and parts interchangeability for the price are concerned. The thing is, isnt its main selling point the EBB? Dont people buy these guns for that? Cyma doesnt have that, does it?

I love Tokyo Marui but I wouldn’t game with it now given the perfectly operational stuff out there for a fraction of the cost; that didn’t exist when I played. It used to be that Classic Army was the only AEG alternative and it wasn’t cheaper. I’m so old that I was the first one on my field with a VSR10 and a HiCapa; anything Marui was hard to get back then.
Show us on the doll where the TM recoil touched you. Hate me as much as you want, but my 416 is still the best rifle I've ever owned, and I'll recommend it to anyone who can afford it.
Bought the clicky-clicky ak, test fired it, worked, then it just shit itself on day 1. Luckily, my local store swapped it out for a decent aeg and some gear.
whats funny is this is literally every single GelSoft Blaster that china puts out, and us aussies just have to deal with it, we dont have a choice of high quality builds, we have to build everything up anyway. I understand Airsoft has been around alot longer and has alot of manufacturer competition so quality is expected, but legit welcome to GelSoft.

I use a tm mws gbbr 70k rounds all I’ve ever had to do is replace the nozzle return spring for a DT one ($20) and I changed my bucking for a maple leaf 70 degree but that’s personal preference you could absolutely not dp that and you’d be cool.

All i did was upgrade the spring to a 350fps one and it pretty much rules the field, about the best range and accuracy there is. And yeah, a 200 euro gun with 200 euro in upgrades would have done the same, but the recoil just adds a nice factor to it imo

Can't really comment on this as i've never had a TM Rifle. I know from my 15 year old DE 50AE they make good GBB pistols. Bought with an extra magazine and neither leak after all these years! The safety block broke a few years ago. Couldn't get one here in the UK but after a lot of searching got one from Portugal. Anyway, love your DIRECT approach to solving airsoft related problems. Keep up with your unique way of telling it as it is. Butthead rules!!

After so much research as possible I believe that Tokyo Marui MK18 NGRS is the best all-round AEG airsoft rifle money can buy, right =P I do not actually want to deal with those imps, titan gates and cogs though.. So I guess the best way to go is actually Tokyo Marui MK18 GBB.. (The looks of any AK are just not for me)

i know a guy who was told to buy ICS and he did. he bought an ICS AK74 and it stripped gears for fun. he sent it back to fire support 4 times with stripped gears, they replaced it every time until they finally just sent him a new gearset out. it killed the sport for him and he stopped playing after.
true tho i bought after market parts for tm managed to fix it and i still mess around with it i screwed over the gearbox shell and pistol grip and theyre hard to find as well so yeah its a good gun cus it only has Recoil thats why its special lol

He's not missing anything, people with TM's always complain about people not calling hits despite FPS dribbling at 200fps
