Thank you very much for this superb video. Nicely filmed and narrated. No nonsense, no obnoxious music, no fluff. I just installed a wireless camera using your detailed tailgate exposure segment.

Hey, I just wanted to say that your video helped a LOT. I was stuck in several spots when trying to install a backup camera on my 4th gen 4Runner. Thank you!

Thanks for the detailed video and especially thanks for the quick editing. I didn't have to fast forward at all. Well done.

This video was extremely helpful, I am not sure that I would have been able to finish the job without it. My 4th gen now has a backup cam as well, unfortunately the trajectory lines and mirror image functions do not work but I can live with that.

Great video! I will have to remember the soapy water mixture! When I did mine, I had to push an RCA cable (think monster cable with the RCA connector) from the head unit through that rubber boot on the lift gate. Ugh!! Pretty sure it would have been easier with the soapy water.

Lol. Soapy water has a great rate of return!! If the RCA cable ever goes bad, you know the secret now

    “Not that difficult”
Feeding that wire was top 5 hardest things I’ve done my entire life.

Excellent and informative job. How does the camera know when reverse is engaged? Was that part of the vampire connector in the back?

I just want to clarify a few things as I just purchased the same camera from Amazon. Does the camera come with wiretaps? And did it come with a cable long enough to reach to where you mounted the monitor or did you have to extend it/buy a new one?

Thanks James! The trailer will be used for hauling our track miata and local cars with engine problems back to the shop. Hopefully no large trucks with transmission problems :)
