It was 3 inch. I definitely wouldn’t go any smaller. Bigger would be even better especially if you have a bigger mill. When you roll over a big square log cant it really takes some abuse. Don’t use the jacks that stick up like these do. They won’t work unless modify them and that is a job. That was all that I could find during the height of Covid. 👍
Love the video! Nice work. I'm building a trailer now, but not sure where to mount the axle. How far from the back did you mount yours? Appreciate any advise. Thanks

Howdy y’all- wow, that’s a nice trailer build! You’ll look good going down the road with a Woodland Mills sawmill sitting on your trailer. Take care and God bless y’all
Im picking up a used HM122 this weekend. This video was great, I will be looking to build a trailer for mine. I may pick up the cheap harbor freight trailer and modify that.
It has worked well so far. We don’t plan on moving it too often. The jacks are necessary to get everything leveled out when it is set up to cut. A heavier frame would probably make it easier to level things. 😊
A man of many hats! Glad you're using something to kneel on. I've been a handyman for years. Started wearing kneepads 20 years ago, still in good shape.
Thanks, it was a lot of fun to build. I notched each cross piece so it set down on the top of the rail. That’s what I set the mill rails on it worked really good. It was all 1/4 inch angle iron. Thanks so much for watching.
Plans??? What plans! Lance doesn’t believe in plans😂😂😂 no, seriously, you can Google that and I think the “forestry forum” has a plan drawing that may give you some ideas. If you didn’t see the second video we made about changes to the jacks, be sure and watch that. The jacks did not work without being modified. Need to buy different ones if you can find them.
Trailer‘s been great and it is strong enough I’ve had a little bit of trouble with my jacks don’t put the jacks on it with the wheels that’s all I could come up with during the pandemic but I’m gonna cut them off and put a plate on the bottom but other That it’s work great. My wife did a log the other day that was 20 inches so it’ll hold the weight
Great job on the trailer for The sawmill trailer nice fabrication work 👏👏👍👍
Thank you Timothy! 😊👍
@@natureartgirl very welcome
What size angle iron did you build your trailer out of?

Did you use 1/4” or 3/16”, thanks,
Awesome job
Love the video! Nice work. I'm building a trailer now, but not sure where to mount the axle. How far from the back did you mount yours? Appreciate any advise. Thanks
I put mine exactly at 80 inches to center of axle and then when you put the mill back there the tongue weight is just about perfect on it
You don't need no stinkin breaks! lol Looks super. Great job! :)
Sorry I just saw your reply thanks a lot it’s so light you don’t need brakes
That saw is not the tool for the job but you made it work. :)
Please invest in a proper saw. Safety
Thanks!😊
Love the work you put on in this trailer build Lance. Well done!
Thank you sir!

Thank you Paul. It turned out pretty good.
What is the lil crane you were using ? I really like that thing
It is an old EZ-Hauler 2500. It is for setting posts and poles. It has an auger attachment also. It is super handy!
I see momma got you a kneeling pad.😉
Yes, She says it’s her life’s work to try and take care of me!😂👍

Great! They sure are handy to have. We have enjoyed being able to cut whatever size wood we need. Hope you enjoy yours too!😊👍
@@natureartgirl thanks , we are looking forward to making outbuildings for our farm and a pole barn. I could not pass it up for 1400 bucks
@@1620GarageAndFarm wow! That sounds like a steal! You will pay for that in savings on wood in no time. 👍👍
@@natureartgirl officially picked it up last night, got it for 1300 !! And it came with 4 new blades too

Light trailer, hopefully both frames will be stable

Yes keep using them I should’ve done it earlier😀
Great job... did you notch each cross piece or did you just make an open corner at the top where you welded the cross pieces to the rails?

Would you still have the trailer plans on hand? I’d sure like a copy

I have same mill ,just want to ask if that strong enough did you try big logs to put on?

I like the music I imagine Lance in a straw hat humming away and playing a Banjo!
Is there anything this guy can't do!
Got to give all credit to my wife. She does great job on these videos and I wouldn’t be doing any of this without her. Thanks and have a great day.
