Thanks, Aris! You might also like my short video featuring the Discovery Park Lighthouse. That day the wind was gusting up to 40 knots and the waves were crashing all only the rocky coastline.
Thanks, Christian! My family has for many generations been wheat farmers, so I had a modest-sized built-in audience interested in this one. And ironically, the only reason I originally bought a drone was to record our wheat fields several times a year when I visit them from Seattle. Now I sneak around downtown in the wee hours of the morning flying between skyscrapers. Go figure.
Thanks, Justin! I've been browsing your channel (subbed there, too), and you've got quite an array of modeling tutorials. I've got to think up ways I might apply that technology.
What an excellent production... this is purely thrilling... the quality is sky high... so very many goosebumps here... love the attention to detail... a most worthy work that leaves a mark 🙏🌹
Wow Very Nice John I was looking forward to your next video Mount Rainier in the background with the sun setting very nice ending. Seattle and the space needle looks beautiful all lit up at night.🙂
Thanks, Robert! On the pink-sky Mt Rainier shots, I was actually there to capture something else, but once I saw what the skyline looked like I had an instant change of plans.
HiJoihn! It's amazing! It's wonderful video! Thank you for showing me the wonderful scenery! Great high quality video!Big like(42)! I really like it! Very interesting! Thank you for sharing! Have a nice day and weekend!
Thanks, Jim! I applied de-noise to the night footage, and kind of regret it. The footage was good straight out of camera, but de-noise adds massively to the load of processing an export, so it took forever to get a version to upload. I'm appreciating DJI's Night Mode more now, given how fast their built-in de-noise works.
The images from this port are simply stunning. I especially love the shots at sunset and then the night shots are sumptuous🤩🤩.Thanks for sharing this great work👍👍.
Thanks, Aaiden! I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, though putting denoise on the night shots added about 30 hours to the export time. I thought it'd never get finished.
Another great video John. I like the speed ramps at the start, I'm going to have to give that a go next time editing. Looks much better than a transition.
You're absolutely right. I was leery about using speed ramps because they show up a lot in videos where they only seem to be there for the sake of showing off. But so far I've found that when timed to a beat they add energy to the video. And they're a great way to hide flaws. When I've got a shot that's got some wobble between frames and I can't stabilize it completely, I just bury those frames inside a speed ramp and they're undetectable. So give 'em a try! (And don't be afraid to crank the speed waaaaay up. For most of the ones in this video I pushed it up to about 3,000%.)
Hello, it's a wonderful flight that starts with a cool movie-like image and continues with a beautiful night view. I will subscribe to your channel from Japan. Thank you.
John, Great Edit!!! I see what you mean now, The Seattle grain silo is not covered and you can get a better over the top shot. Did you launch from the waterfront when you show the ship in the harbor at the 1:32 mark, that is tight!!!
Thanks, Lance! I shot half the footage from close to the silos, and half from then end of Pier 70, which is a great place for anything to its North or, as with the ship at anchor, out in the Bay.
*You begin with the daytime footage and revisit it near the end. In between there is a lot of nice night time footage. I'm presuming you did the footage with the Mavic 3 or spent a lot of time perfecting the night time footage if you used anything else. Autel also does awesome night time footage as well. It was cool to see the cargo holes nearly filled with grain. Did you do all of this in one day?*
Thanks! I shot on four different days/nights, and you're right: I used a Mavic 3 (Classic, in this case). Most of the night footage (and all of the day footage) was in 5.1K, with noise reduction in post. I find that gives the best results, but DHI's Night Mode is approximately 98.2% less work to edit and looks nearly as good.
Hi Ross, it's a Mavic 3 Classic. For the night footage I've gotten away from Night Mode and shoot 5.1K and then do de-noise in post. I think the results are a little sharper and better, but I'd be the first to promote DJI's Night Mode as 100x easier. (Also, I'm still working at creating time lapses of clouds so I can use them the way you did in your Clouds & Skies video.)
