I make cakes (Susie Cakemaker on FB) and you’re doing great! Couple of tips, you don’t want your cake room temp and your frosting refrigerated, switch that-refrigerate your cake for about 15 min after it’s fully cooled to room temp and keep your frosting away from heat, but if kitchen is at room temp, that’s fine-if it’s a little warm, keep it in fridge but let it sit out for about 5-10 min to come to room temp-I always put Saran Wrap down onto my frosting to keep it from forming a “crust” in the fridge-but you don’t have to, just give it a good stir :) I actually do a very thin crumb coat of frosting and then put mine in the freezer for about 10 min before frosting the final coat-room temp frosting is best so it doesn’t “tug” on the cake and cause any tears- Also, turn your second layer upside down so the rounded top part is down on the top of the first layer-this will give you a super smooth edge to frost on your final layer. Other than that, you’re doing amazing!

Looks good Soulful t ...for the crumble u can take a short cut buy using Oreo vanilla creme cookies / store bought brand vanilla cream cookies , strawberry jello , butter & crumble it all together ....this is a easier way to keep from doing the strawberry jello crumble & jello pudding crumble

I don't know of anyone personally who can make a cake or anything else without making some sort of a mess. One of the reasons why I subscribed to your channel is because you are real! I've been told that I'm a pretty good cook but I've learned a lot of things from you that have helped me tremendously in the kitchen, so don't you worry about how your Crumbs are falling on your cake plate or anywhere else. My concern is getting it done and getting it down . I have a daughter who loves that Strawberry Shortcake ice cream bar and you just showed me how to make the cake of her dreams . I appreciate that .
