i owned one like that and never will again, not saying the newer models are not ok but that year model is trash. well 1989 90 and 91 are not good, however with that said if you found a good one thats great .
My grandmother accidently backed into our Pinto station wagon tailgate and dented the “panelling”… my father worked for hours with a rubber hammer and plunger attempting to pop it back out. He gave up and in frustration slammed it shut. That did it!! Dent popped out perfectly 😂
Some of the Classic Jeeps are costing major money in Good condition, the old wagoneers had a big following, and they are a desirable ride now. Cheers Alexander
I gotta agree with Melissa, yuck, we had. A station wagon in the ‘90s love the 3 seats it had but that paneling was crazy to clean. The paint kept fading so we ended up with a gold SW with ivory panals, just ugly❤
I LOVE it! I had a Jeep Cherokee at one time, and at 85, I would love another one. I can't remember what year it was. Country singer, Chris Stapleton, has a Wagoneer, too. Best of luck with this beauty.
I'm 74 and I've never cared for the wood either BECAUSE with 6 siblings we always had station wagons with wood(real). That being said, its cute on the Wagoneer. Its unusual to find something in that year in such a good shape. I love old vehiches
I love the wood tone side paneling. I really enjoyed that about the beautiful 1976 Ford Country Squire that my husband and I bought new. Sounds like the Tesla is not yet a good fit for winters in your area, and especially since your solar salespeople were not truthful about saving you money.
I always wanted one of those Wagoneers. Back in the 1980's my Dad bought one, and I always thought it would be offered to one of us kids (adults) before he sold or traded it in. Sadly, in the mid 1990's he got in an accident and his insurance company totaled it and had it towed. I was completely bummed. What I loved best about that vehicle was that it turned on a dime!! They have a good look, I love them, and they carry a ton of gear. Can't wait to see you get her fixed up, and back to her lovely self again. Gotta have a radio!
Based on what you said about Melissa and her opinion of cars with wood trim, I would have loved to see her reaction. That car was very popular when I was a kid. I loved the looks.
You got yourself a very nice vehicle for the winter. Know that winter tire technology has advanced incredibly the last decade so if it has older tires, replace them with dedicated snow tires and be amazed.
That Jeep Wagoneer and the Cadillac Eldorado brings back memories for me. When we were teenagers my best friend had a Cadillac Eldorado. It had a yellow hood, a dark brown trunk and one dark brown door and one yellow door. We went cruising every weekend in that car. LOL She also had for a little while a Jeep Wagoneer that was all brown with no fake wooden panels and it was also an older model than yours. That was over 41 years ago. We had a lot of fun in that Cadillac!! LOL
There's a place in Texas that has parts for older jeeps,Collins brothers jeep. They also convert wagoneers to a hellcat drivetrain. They have a channel called coffee walk
Alex,I just love your projects, excitement in problem solving and how quickly you get onto the tasks. You have a GOOD EYE for the odd stuff that you can fix up and “GET-ER DONE,”
A used '63 Wagoneer was my family's intro to 4WD,in 1969. Part of my driver's ed practice was in that brute . Handled snow well. Not so fun to parallel park. Enjoy this Jeep, Alexander. It's better than a dogsled.😊
I certainly don’t think wood paneling will ever be popular on cars again, on an old classic like this I love it. I love Jeeps. I had to sell my 20 year old Liberty in 2020 and I miss it every day.
I haven't even watched the video yet, but so excited just from the thumbnail!! I grew up driving our family's Wagoneer, affectionately called "The Woody" by all my high school friends! Sure-footed in snow, survived three teens driving it, and we hauled family and friends all over the place in that thing. My Dad always called it "the old faithful Wagoneer". Great memories!!
We had one of these in the mid 90s. Our kids cried when we sold it. We had a lot of fun with it but it broke down so often. It was great for loading up dogs n kids for camping trips though. Enjoy your Jeep.
My neighbor had one almost identical but it had dark tan interior. One time they were headed to Florida and the rear end went out. They put it in 4 wheel drive to get to the next exit and the wheel hub axe and all flew out leaving the tail of the Wagoner sitting on the ground. Luckily no casualties and after the wrecker dropped them off at home they hopped into their Mercedes and headed back to their vacation home in Florida.
Alex, I feel like you bought a piece of heavy medal car history which has an outstanding unique design. I love your quirks which makes for great various type episodes and I would love to see more of your upgrade work on this Jeep.
Alex I love that truck and unlike Melissa, I always loved the wood on the side of a car. It brings back very nice nostalgic memories and I am glad you have it to use or eventually sell.
Don’t blame you for getting rid of a car that does not handle well in the snow since you live in a snowy climate. Be safe!! Thanks for sharing your new Jeep with us! 👋 (Jeep wave)
Wasn't expecting a 4 minute ad for a mattress, but I guess that could be helpful if you need one. That Jeep Wagoneer looks great and seems to run fine. I wouldn't expect a 35 year old car to be running at all and be on the road. Nice purchase.
thoughts about jeep vs. ford p\u....personally i would think that the jeep with the rear seats down would have larger ENCLOSED area than the tounoe cover on the pu bed, loading , both have tailgates, the jeep will get better mileage than the ford in 2wd probably the same in 4wd, but it's 4wd..safer. room for the whole family when needed, the cool factor is about the same, value wise the jeep is on the way up ..p\u...not so much....i'm not a jeep fanboy and i love old p\u's , but i'd pick the jeep and sell the ford....great score eather way , love the channel . thanks Alex
My son-in-law bought one of those and it was in really bad shape. He ended up reselling it. But he named it Grampy. He and my daughter name all their cars. As do I.
Lol 😂 The tap handle shifter cracked me up. I grew up with motorheads and ratrodders. I've seen some things.. tap handles for shifters was common.. brought me back some good memories 😂
Welcome to the "JEEP" family!!! It's a nice looking vehicle! Congratulations! Just what you need for winter driving in your area. I'm driving a 2008 Jeep Commander, purchased it after my Monte Carlo couldn't get out of my yard after a huge snowfall in 2010... best decision ever!!! Best always to you & your family, From BC
I've always wanted a Wagonneer. Probably has something to do with the movie "Baby Boom." Vermont, an apple orchard, a milk cow, a pond, and that kitchen! I thought that kitchen was dreamy. And I wouldn't mind being kissed like THAT when my Wagonneer gets a flat!

What did it cost to send the mattress to Canada?
i owned one like that and never will again, not saying the newer models are not ok but that year model is trash. well 1989 90 and 91 are not good, however with that said if you found a good one thats great .

Awesome!
Great story! 😂
You should have thrown a Christmas tree on top before bringing it home.
Canadian Griswolds.😂
It's actually very cool.
That is exactly what I was thinking when I saw his new vehicle! 😊🌲
Or Aunt Edna.
I'm with you Alexander, it's lovely! Beefy, with 'vintage' luxury and little to none of the late-80's design malaise.
I love it! I've wanted one of those since I was a teen and I'm 60 now. It's literally my dream car.
Me too
Me as well!!!!!! I'm 60 and this was my dream car!!! Sigh....it's just Fantastic!!! xo
Same!
One without rust.
@@277kne yea I actually had a 76 for a short time and loved it but it was rough and it was really rusted.
Good for you Alexander, you can tell this purchase makes you happy.
Love that Jeep, including the wood paneling! Great purchase.
Some of the Classic Jeeps are costing major money in Good condition, the old wagoneers had a big following, and they are a desirable ride now. Cheers Alexander
Great find! Nothing beats a Jeep for Winter driving. That Brooks Stevens design is a timeless classic. Happy motoring! Cheers! 😎👍🚙❄🌨☃
Welcome to the Grand Wagoneer family. Proud owner of a Baltic Blue 89 myself. BJ’s Offroad is the best website for parts for full size Jeeps.
Like Melissa I do not like wood paneling, but I can appreciate it for its retro look.
Love the woody paneling on those Wagoneers!
Me too!
I wish manufacturers recognized the appeal and started making them again
I'm 74 and I've never cared for the wood either BECAUSE with 6 siblings we always had station wagons with wood(real). That being said, its cute on the Wagoneer. Its unusual to find something in that year in such a good shape. I love old vehiches
This one is a keeper. Great Jeep.
Place your bets! 😄
Such a great sponsor ad. Top salesmanship.
Growing up, my neighbor had a 78' , metalic brown, loved that thing ! Nice find, would love to have one.
I love the wood tone side paneling. I really enjoyed that about the beautiful 1976 Ford Country Squire that my husband and I bought new. Sounds like the Tesla is not yet a good fit for winters in your area, and especially since your solar salespeople were not truthful about saving you money.
My opinion is that you should keep this vehicle, i think it looks great!
Thanks! I’m going to try!
I love those Wagoneers. Love love love. I’d buy it in a heartbeat.
You have to wave to other Jeep owners now! Cute especially if you wear the Clark Griswold hat while driving!🤣❤️🇨🇦
Hmmm...I've owned various Jeeps since 1990, and I've never waved or been waved at. Who knew? 🙂
The vehicle suits you! Enjoy!!
Wow! that is the most organized pick n pull that ive ever seen!
My father had a Country Squire wagon in the '70's. It was like riding in a boat. Loved it. Wood panels and all.
Welcome to the Wagoneer life! I have been driving my 88 Jeep Wagoneer its entire life and it's still going strong at 276,800 miles
You got yourself a very nice vehicle for the winter. Know that winter tire technology has advanced incredibly the last decade so if it has older tires, replace them with dedicated snow tires and be amazed.
Looks great once you have sorted the small defects it will be a great daily driver
I agree, the Jeep is quirky and cool! Wonder how the trip in the Wagoneer went with Melissa, lol!
Absolutely love Wagoneers, congratulations!
That Jeep Wagoneer and the Cadillac Eldorado brings back memories for me. When we were teenagers my best friend had a Cadillac Eldorado. We had a lot of fun in that Cadillac!! LOL
I think the Wagoneer goes well with your truck. Besides, you have some extra room in the back for more treasure hunting. Blessings, Janell
Can't go wrong with that Jeep!!! Good purchase!
Thanks!
There's a place in Texas that has parts for older jeeps,Collins brothers jeep. They also convert wagoneers to a hellcat drivetrain. They have a channel called coffee walk
Dennis Collins also has his coffeewalk episodes on TH-cam also. About finding, buying, selling and sometimes restoration of classic vehicles.
Alex,I just love your projects, excitement in problem solving and how quickly you get onto the tasks. You have a GOOD EYE for the odd stuff that you can fix up and “GET-ER DONE,”
Thanks so much, I’m glad you like it!
A used '63 Wagoneer was my family's intro to 4WD,in 1969. Part of my driver's ed practice was in that brute . Handled snow well. Not so fun to parallel park. Enjoy this Jeep, Alexander. It's better than a dogsled.😊
You did good Alexander! Seems like a very practical car for traveling with the children too. Have fun.
Great find! Have some good fun with it. 👍🏻
I certainly don’t think wood paneling will ever be popular on cars again, on an old classic like this I love it. I love Jeeps. I had to sell my 20 year old Liberty in 2020 and I miss it every day.
This Jeep is Beautiful !
I'm with your wife on wood paneling. My parents had a station wagon with paneling and us kids didnt want to be seen in it. I believe it was a Pontiac.
Now you're talking. My kind of vehicle, especially in the north.
Great vehicle! Thanks Alex!
A vintage woodie jeep grand Cherokee is on top of my wishlist! I knew there was a reason I liked you! ❤
Love everything about that jeep! Nice find Alex!
We had one of these in the mid 90s. Our kids cried when we sold it. We had a lot of fun with it but it broke down so often. It was great for loading up dogs n kids for camping trips though. Enjoy your Jeep.
My first car was a '76 Pinto station wagon. It was red with wood grain side panels. So I think the wood panels are cool. Very vintage!
Wow! Glad they were alright.
Ah, I would love to own one ❤
I like it. I have always loved the full size Jeep trucks and SUV's. Back when they had the reputation of being tough, reliable vehicles.
Thank you - enjoyed!!!
Very smart to get a weather worthy car in your freezing climate
So happy to see you put on a warm hat!!!
I would guess the new cars have a problem with the computer.
You always make them look good, thank you for sharing ❤❤
pro tip (from AMMO NYC) clean the windows after your polishing and it will make the biggest difference. it's pure visual, trick of the brain.
Nice Jeep... looks great!! Would have loved to have seen Melissa's face when she saw it!!
Thanks for the video 🙏
Right out of the Preppie Handbook! Nice Jeep!
Alex, I feel like you bought a piece of heavy medal car history which has an outstanding unique design. I love your quirks which makes for great various type episodes and I would love to see more of your upgrade work on this Jeep.
Cool ride Alexander! Perfect for family fun
perfect for tailgating.
Alex I love that truck and unlike Melissa, I always loved the wood on the side of a car. It brings back very nice nostalgic memories and I am glad you have it to use or eventually sell.
Congratulations on the Jeep,Love It
Don’t blame you for getting rid of a car that does not handle well in the snow since you live in a snowy climate. Be safe!! Thanks for sharing your new Jeep with us! 👋 (Jeep
wave)
We had one of those Jeeps. Finally gave it to our son. We had the same problem with the interior roof cover.
It will be a beast in the snow! I would have loved to see Melissa’s face.
Wasn't expecting a 4 minute ad for a mattress, but I guess that could be helpful if you need one. That Jeep Wagoneer looks great and seems to run fine. I wouldn't expect a 35 year old car to be running at all and be on the road. Nice purchase.
LOOK AT IT!! LOOK AT IT!! LOOK AT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! xo
Those were all over my mountain town as pre-teen and teenage years. They bring big money now in the US.
I enjoyed this video as my husband and I had a Jeep Wagoneer just like this one.
I had a 1985 model; I recall it being kinda slow but very comfy.
Congratulations on the Jeep! My br. Worked for them while going to Purdue in the 70s. Good luck!
One of my favorite vehicles I've owned. Keep up on the fluid changes and it's nothing to get 250k on them.
I had a 86 and loved it
Jeep stands for: Just Empty Every Pocket.
Very cool car....love the old Broncos too!❤
I’ve always loved this model of Jeep!!
Congratulations for both the mattress and the vintage Jeep.💯 December 14. Cold and sunny in Quebec. (-14º Celsius) Best regards. 🌟

I remember when these were everywhere and very cheap .. now I think there very cool .. how things change
I am so jealous !! I love your new mattress and would really like to buy one. And your Jeep Cherokee Wagoneer is my dream car 🚘
I hope you get to get one someday!
It's cute It's got character like you green truck known as a bakkie in South Africa.
Hi Alex, I think it's in good shape for a 1989, I like it....good find....Take care...🍁 🍁 ON
Nice! I remember it brand new. I was 15 at the time. I always loved the wood panels on car's 😎👍♥️♥️✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️💯

Jeeps are forever usable you got the right vehicle...
Blindfold Melissa while you put her in the Jeep. Take her for a drive. Then get her reaction when she gets out! Lol. Great car!
That would be hilarious!
I think the wagoneer is a great choice! Looks great, kinda retro :)
Awesome jeep ! Big dollars for that classic
Thanks for sharing. My wife and I had the same jeep back in the day😂 only the merica version 😂😂 thanks for being as corcky as me
That will be fun for the family.
I like it because it's high. I wouldn't feel like I'm sitting on the ground. Nice purpose Alex.
Awesome. Love the look.
Awesome 4x4 id buy it if i was able to drive it here in the UK.
Looks great 🤗
Hope the mattress works for y'all.
120 days is a long try out LOL.
