Ignition coil went out. Parts are getting hard to find for the older saws. Big thanks to Scott @thegreasyshoprag for finding parts and fixing it. #mcculloch #chainsaw #woodhound
Love the sound of the McCullough!! I have a sixteen year old 455 Husqvarna that I run every once in a while. Old saw are hard to part with, especially if they worked!! Stay Hydrated and Have a Safe Day.
There's something about the old saws that just make you want to run them for fun. I have a few of my dad's and granddad's saws that I keep around to run for fun. Those old saws just are a completely different tool than modern saws.
Nice saw. It sure sounds good. Didn’t take long to go thou that big log. I’ll have to use my Homelite XL12 saw again soon. It’s sitting right with the Red Max G5300 I use regularly. Happy Father’s Day 👍🏻
Beautiful old saw, Bert 👍🏼. Sounds and cuts great 👍🏼
I love it but appreciate the newer saws with antivibe.
I remember thinking the coil was bad when you had it out months ago. Glad you were able to find another one for it. They are awesome old saws!
Scott from the greasy shop rag found it for me and got it all fixed up.

Hi Bert!!😀😀
The old Pro Mac 700 was a saw ahead of its time back in the day. She is still a screamer!!
Happy Father's Day buddy!!😀😀💚💚
Logger Al
Thanks Al. It is a screamer and in good shape yet. Next time it doesn't start, it will be a shop wall hanger.
Now it’s running like it’s supposed to ,good job Bert Happy Father’s Day .
Thanks. Happy Father's Day to you, too.
That saw cuts real nice. Good power.
It has good power but loads up when ripping. Not a lot of chip clearance to get them out.

My first saw was a mcCullogh, it was blue dont remember size but it left your arms and hand numb from using it. Had to pump bar oil manually.
This one has manual oiler for when running bigger bars.
Nice video Bert.
Thanks Ann
Hope the wife & kids give me one for Fathers Day gift today! probably just a T-shirt & a beer!! lol
I got my t shirt but also got yelled at a few weeks ago when it was sitting on the counter, and I looked at it.

Certainly remember the sound, I traded mine in on a new Stihl 041.
Next time this one doesn't run, it will be mounted to the shop wall.
Nice video Bert. Old school, wide bar bucking right there. They cut well, sound cool and vibrate like a Harley. What oil mix are you using?
We ran 50:1 but switched to 40:1
