    If you want to find holiday work and have no luck in cairns go to Byron Bay just south of the Gold Coast. nearly every entry level hospitality job there is done by working holiday foreigners. Also 🎉The climate is allot less humid until mid summer. Plus no Jelly fish or crocodiles.

      @@Begibou you can also stay for free if you house sit for people if you search on google for AussieHouseSitters or TrustedHouseSitters and you can find places that need someone to take care of their house or flat for a few months and take care of a pet. Save a lot on rent.. good luck.

    Try aldi, woolies or coles for sponge, cost if living has gone up in Australia, Aldi is best bet 😊

    Hey hun, i think a lot of peoples experience with job hunting is that online applications just don't work very well. You get filled with hope and then you either never hear back from anyone or you get generic "your application was unsuccessful but we wish you all the best" emails. Hope gets crushed quickly with them! What tends to work is using networks (if you have them) or handing out your CV in person e.g. to cafes/bars/restaurants/retail etc. As a Sydney sider, we will miss you not being here!
    Omg, I can so relate to the your to- do list for your brain! Whenever i feel chaotic, I plan out my day exactly like that. Something soothing with the structure of a whole bunch of small tasks that would sit jumbled and messy in my head 😂 what app do you use for it or do you just use notes?
    Cairns is beautiful! Very very stifling hot in summer with the humidity but i think people adapt (i have only been there for a week at a time so have never adapted and it is intense!). Make sure you make use of any spare time and travel through QLD. It is tropical, down to earth, a bit slower paced than sydney/melbourne (outside of Brisbane) but just so many beautiful places. The areaa south of Cairns is a bit less intense weather-wise too 😅 Please go to the Great Barrier Reef! Coral life isn't thriving but it remains a beautiful part of the world.
    Do you follow Elle Gibson? She has recently relocated from the UK and is living on Sunshine Coast with her partner on a working visa too. Might be helpful to watch how they navigate things too? 🤷🏼‍♀️ Gabeielle Linda is also just navigating life out here (she got a hospitality job) and could be nice to check out too.
    Relocating is HARD, especially when you are doing it on your own. I swear, if you can stick this tough part out, find your place that feels like it could be a good place to call home for a little while, and start to connect with the local community, it will all start to feel worth it. Keep trusting in that intuition that brought you here.
    Oh and best place for anything for the home and cooking that is cheap... kmart! You won't be able to leave empty handed 😂
    Ok, I have rambled enough. Loving your videos as always. You are so talented! Keep taking care of yourself... make sure you nourish yourself regularly and enjoy the warmth and that beautiful sunshine!

    Fingers crossed you have found some work already .. it is definitely best in Australia to ask in person if there is work available. Ask everywhere you go eg the fruit market, the hostel etc.

    HI, just stumbled across your channel. Haven't had a chance to watch through your videos properly (will catch up later), but I'd be really interested to know your general thoughts about Sydney/Australia, and how it compares to Germany.
    Cairns is a lovely place, and I hope you find work there. But I just wanted to say that Sydney/Melbourne have much bigger populations, so in theory there would be more job openings.
    Sydney can be very expensive, especially with rent. What a lot of people do is live somewhere far from the CBD, and commute to work every day.

    Hey, I'm originally from Cairns and been in SE Queensland the last 15 years. I'm a bit confused with buying kitchen stuff for the hostel. That would be all provided. A lot of backpackers end up in bar jobs. I used to to work for a big hostel chain up there in my 20's. Ask me any questions if you want. Cairns surburban area is quite big, you need to get out on transport to see Cairns or do tours to see whats around it. I miss rusty's market, my highschool bf used to buy me flowers from there. Memories lol

    • @Begibou
      @Begibou  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I bought everything because I didn’t want to use the hostel kitchen utensils :) thanks for your advice! And Rusty’s market is so awesome. Such cute memories

    • @bytejourneycodes
      @bytejourneycodes 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can do all the things across those cooking utensils in just the pan, I just mention it because you might be restricted with space currently. I hope you find a job, I thought it might have been easier. Looks like the overall job market is quite hard to get into at the moment.

    Look, I feel what I've got to say and what I have done is the most important infomation and unusual experience compared to anyone else here. I know you're getting a lot of suggestions but just try to see what I'm saying and not let all the advice go over your head. Firstly I want to clarify something and I know why you have to work in remote areas. I get that. So.. You said you are moving to Australia? A WHV is just working here for one or for more years then going back and finding a job right in Germany right? And yes, I can probably give better advice for the little things then others, because I have lived for long periods in poorer and in super rich Australia. Both places 10 years or more. I just don't want to focus on that. Others can help. Anyway. 1 year or 2 years is not long. That's what I'm saying. You or backbackers need a better solution. You need more then 5 years to really change as a person! There are bad parts of Australia too. I didn't want to leave my room for a couple years! I got depressed. I wasted time the same as you. But you know if I had my time again I would have done everything in stages and not all at once. I should have been that person I am today (a champion), except been it in that location I was in and felt trapped in (but I was being a looser.. serious bro...). Put up with being there part time and swtiched off an focused and breathed! I wasted at least 3,4 maybe more years in Sydney. I could have learnt enough things if i came in stages and not tried to rush it! At the start I felt like I just needed to be here all the time to learn all the things because there was so much. And now? I know it all and i'm bored. I rushed it. I mean yes i'm happy but I'm just using your situation to reflect on mine. I still argue with my mum every second day. So it's the same as you. And remember to stay vegan like me (10 years vegan). Remember the way to people's hearts in sydney is throught working out and sport, and also if you want to find work or (talk about work and don't worry about what i said about businesses yet, just talk to them about getting a job) in Sydney go to the expensive leafy suburbs where all the manages and owners live and talk to them in their own area (where they are relaxed and not in the city). Door knock. Flyers. See them at the shops. Not where the backpackers go. Not at Bondi. Not in the city. Yes some own cafes there but they don't live there. Talk to people. In their own neighbourhood. Not in the city. I have done it many many times. Thousands. Trust me. Just trust me and don't rush it and hang around expenisve areas where there are no backpackers or workers. And I didn't workout for the first 6 years of being in Sydeny. Big mistake. Not good for the mind. I thought i didn't need to work out because I was in sydney and not where i used to be. That was a mistake and another missed oppotunity. Now im good but i had to catch up.
